  1. Is there concern when there has been a previous game, at least for me, that did not quite live up to the predecessors and we now have a new company taking over the franchise.........sure. It is only natural to feel that way. I have realized something though, Microsoft wants a winner here. 343 Ind. wants to create a game that lives up to the standard as well as sells millions of copies. We are the "fans", they are the "business" that produces what we love now. They want this to work, they want it to be the best one yet. Remember also, that there are "fans" who are part of that "business". They are the ones creating the game. I saw a documentary video on Pixar studios who have produced "Toy Story", "Finding Nemo", "the Incredibles". etc. There big concern was always living up to what they had done before. It wasn't easy for them, watch the piece if you haven't seen it. Point is it is very hard to keep producing winner after winner. Though I was never the big fan of Reach, I feel that Bungie really tried there best. It is easy for us to criticize when we aren't happy with what we get. Imagine being the people who are actually creating this game, feeling the pressure, wanting to try new things, wanting to succeed. I like this forum. It gives us a chance to talk, dream, and post ideas. 343 Ind. may even look in every once and a while and see something that interests them or see a common dislike for a feature that could possibly shape the game. Who knows. I am giving them a chance, we all should.
  2. The trailer showed a "Thruster Pack", as described by 343 Ind. in an interview, that works in zero gravity and would be useless on the planet surface.
  3. ....limited edition copies of 'Egomaniac.....
  4. Just an idea to expand on, besides, I have never heard an explanation for the energy sorce of the current ones, much less seen any equipmemt that provides the ability. That is mot true of the jetpack.
  5. An idea struck me while discussing a new Armor Ability tonight. Much like when you run fast and hard you are winded and slightly drained. By that reasoning and even though you are a Spartan, or whatever species, when you expend energy or even control an ability it should be draining on your shields. What do you feel about this? If AA's are to be continued, shouldn't there be some kind of a leeching affect on your shields when used?
  6. ....."the prophets heard the shuffling".....
  7. Believe there was a Marvel Comics Superhero that had a similar ability. He created a "Shock Wave" that had a concussive effect that not only affected the surrounding environment and created small fissures in the structure he hit. Like it better than Armor Lock, reeeeeeeeeeally have no like for AL.

  11. Dang it all...........I just stubbed my toe. Do you know how bad that hurts, huh, do yah?
  12. I don't know if I because I am "old school" or got turned off of the multiple armors in Reach because of the credit system. I still like the system from Halo 3. Here are my thoughts. 1) Make the armors harder to earn and achievable only from ranking up to a certain point, no bought by credits if that system continues in some form. 2) Have armors that are only achievable by finishing campaign on different difficulties and/or time frames. 3) Offer an armor type to only those who achieve tough medals, such as a 15, 20, 25 kill Perfections would garnish you the premium armor and multiple "Headshot Honcho" medals would unlock a sniper variant. 4) Once an armor is achieved use your credits for the attachments, modifications, and effects. I am not interested in putting a "war paint" om my armor, but a traditional military style camouflage that matches some of the environments might be rather cool. The idea of having armors harder to earn is based on a harder ranking system. I feel that you appreciate and feel more of a sense of accomplishment when the standards become tougher as you progress. I have a post called "Ranks you achieve during game play" that shows my thinking. I always want to hit whatever milestone was needed for the armor I wanted in Halo 3. Remember chasing down the original Recon armor? Reach offered so little challenge in this area that I quickly lost interest.
  13. I like the idea of being "in the helmet". Gives you a more tactile feel for the game. If it were third person they would have to deal with targeting issues. Imagine carrying the sniper with it's small reticle, think of how small it would be in third person. If made larger for no scoping, it would offer unfair advantage. It would also eliminate the chances of a crouched player having the ability or advantage of sneaking up on you, which I love to do.
