This is from an interview with 343 Ind. by HBO: HBO: What's in the package for $40? One disc, or two? Are multiplayer and campaign separated like ODST, or are both on one disc, allowing switching in a lobby instead of swapping discs? The Reach DLC is not included - but are the original Reach multiplayer maps? If the only Halo game you owned was Halo: Anniversary, what could you play, exactly? 343i: This will be one retail disc, 39.99, everything launches out of one menu. It's kind of like a one-disc ODST - obviously it doesn't have the other DLC, because most people who buy this are going to have Reach already. It just has the 7 new maps - Reach's original multiplayer maps are not included. If you just have Reach, and you don't want to play this, we will make these available for separate purchase eventually. We're not saying how long 'eventually' is right now, but it's not an amount of time that will upset anyone. There will be a playlist for just these maps. Reach players will be able to directly play seamlessly in that playlist, and those maps will also be integrated into other playlists. We'll try and make a very central place to play just these maps, so there'll be a good population, but eventually they'll end up in all lists. We're going to do significant stuff with matchmaking playlists to make sure that these are respectful of original system link-type games. You know how there's a Classic playlist right now? Imagine that, but plus-plus, and some other stuff we can't talk about right now.

How do I raise my skill level in Halo 3?
Absolute Dog replied to KSI Dashrr's topic in Halo 3 + ODST
Dashrr unless I am mistaken or something has changed, you are a member of one of the largest, if not the largest, clan that plays Halo. When I met them in Halo 2 they were very good at training new players and owned a lot of the clan matches back in the day, when there was actually a clan match playlist. I had played with a fellow named "British" and he and his friends showed me a lot even though they knew I had no intention of joining the clan. Why not play with your clan? Are you looking to increase your "ranked" skill level? Slayer, Doubles, FFA, Snipes? Previous post is correct, play and win back to back games. I am not a booster but do have over 400 exp, if I remember correctly, in Slayer and nearly 300 in Doubles. Send a friend request to me and I will play with you, as long as we get along together. This is my actual gamer tag and it can be beneficial to play with some one who has a much higher exp than you. It is legitimate, not boosting, to play with someone who you play well with. I love playing Doubles and will play Slayer if it is just two entering the matchmaking process. Good luck to you. -
There are some funny comments here! lol. Silent I have well over 2,500,000 credits and they are yours if can figure out a way to transfer them, legally! I never played for credits and do not mind giving them away.

With that Christmas wish list you had better be one good Spartan, lol! I am truly lost that you want, or even would except, AA and then say you want a return to that old Halo feel. Respect your opinion and desires , but............

I agree with you that Reach was far too much of a departure from the series. I really wish that 343 Ind. had designed the release of Halo CEA on the Halo 3 engine, at least the weapons and physics would have been much closer the the original game. We can only hope that Halo 4 will not be an extension of Reach in any form.

What is your first reaction to someone T-Bagging you?
Absolute Dog replied to Screech's topic in Halo Reach
I remember when it was first explained to me in Halo 2. It was intended as a complete sign of disrespect, ie. "You just got owned.". It is the placing of your "sack of nuts" on the dead players chin or in his mouth.....complete and utter disrespect. I have only done it in response to others who have done it to me and, on the rare occasion I am in Reach, I do it to every Armor Locker I kill! During the days of Halo 3 a female friend wanted her own type of "Tea Bag" and came up with the "Taco Bag" and the "Taco Supreme". I am sure your can figure those out for yourselves, lol! -
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Information

I will continue to keep up on the information being released on Halo 4. I love the Halo series! I will leave previous comments out of your post Spartan. I will buy and fight right along side of you, Spectral and all others if it is a true extension of the original series.
-
Spectral I appreciated your measured response. There has been a sense of let down that the multiplayer part of the game would be an actual part of Reach playlist. Why not drop the multiplayer into the Halo 3 were , at least, the original weapons and physics were closer to the original? I relished having CE Campaign come back, it was the best in my opinion. I was, am, grateful for this thought of giving the fans a chance to relive the original game.......I was very excited about it. Personally Spectral I never truly enjoyed Reach any where near the way I had the previous games. I do not want to end up with what will be a seven map addition to Reach. The graphics were amazing, but the armor abilities really sucked the life out of the game for me. (I am saying this to give you a background on my perspective.) I found a game type in Arena Doubles that had the fewest AA, and the fact that it was ranked play which I enjoy, and played it a lot. It was eventually removed even though it was the most popular Arena game type being played, more than Team and FFA combined. Almost every single friend had left H3 and came to Reach, which brought me. I stayed and played because of our friendship. I rarely play Reach any more, the game is simply not enjoyable to me. A single "Classic" playlist is not the answer for me. The inclusion that I would not buy "either" game was not made clear by me, my bad. I have read Q&A that has implied that 343 Ind. would use an existing engine for H4. I wanted it to be known, long before decisions are set in stone, that if Halo 4 was to be another extension of Reach that I was not interested in buying it. Is it not now, before hand, that we need to let them know our feelings?
-
My point as well. Who will buy the game in the hope of just one classic playlist that could be removed. You made my point for me, thank you. Of course I am referring to those who do not care for the AA.

First......This is a direct copy and paste from Bungie News at the end of the first week of play on Reach...... 70 Million+ Games have been played 235 Million+ Player-Games have been played 2 Million+ Files have been uploaded to File Shares 5,901 man-years have been spent in online Reach games (sorry, Corporate America!) 20 Million Daily challenges have been completed 709,840 Weekly challenges have been completed 165 Billion Credits have been earned .......a mere single digit fraction of that still play the game. A majority of people who tried the game left it. Second......343 Ind. themselves have stated that the game, ie. maps, will become part of the Reach play list and be incorporate into the regular game types. With only one limited "Classic" playlist without AA. Listen to the original OP, me and others when we say we wanted a game that was going to return to it's roots, as promised. Here is a copy and paste of a HBO/343 Inds. interview. HBO: What's in the package for $40? One disc, or two? Common sense says that if there is just a classic playlist for a non AA variant that just would most likely mean social slayer only. What I am talking about, feel let down about, is that the primary game consisting of ranked slayer, doubles ranked, snipers, MLG, etc., will be the same as in Reach. If any one can show me an article or interview that clearly states all game types will be available without AA I simply do not buy into the "classic" playlist idea. Those of you who refer to this classic play list as a solution for all the dislike many have for AA is just not a valid argument. I do appreciate you post though.
-
No, actually, not in a crap mood! Please provide the link to a 343 Ind. post that states there will be a classic playlist, without the AA's, for all included maps in both games. Believe your "BR" reference was intended to say the BR is going to be back? I am unfamiliar with "whine", but the engine aspect was the reference I heard that led me to believe, as you pointed out, that it was the graphics part of the Reach platform that would be used. Thank you for your response.
-
It was initially unclear to me that the use of the "Reach" engine meant that the games 343 Ind. were releasing would make use of the AA (Armor Abilities). I figured that it was a reference to the grafics/software that gave the game a modern look. They are going to loose so many people, true fans of the game series, because of this. I was actually fairly excited that 343 Ind. had taken over the franchise and like so many hoped that they would listen to the population, those that voiced their opinion and those who bought Reach then quit playing, and get the franchise back on track. I was introduced to this game by my nephews when CE first hit the market and feel in love with it. This realization about the inclusion of AA's in the new multi players is such a let down. I will not be buying either game which was the original reason I have bought 2 Xbox's and 3 360's, to play Halo and for my nephews to play. All I can say is farewell to Halo, it was good while it lasted, many, many hours of enjoyment! Thank you to everyone who made the Halo series so good and fun over all the years ,not Reach, you guys deserve a lot of credit. Time for an edit update on this post. I came in here directly after realizing this information was to be the facts. Was pretty unhappy about it, obviously, at the time. Since then I quickly accepted the fact and moved on. I will buy HCEA an support 343 Ind. on their endeavors. They are taking a big step and I appreciate them having the franchise. I really like the gift of this game.

Will halo ce have AA's? please say no
Absolute Dog replied to Decree117's topic in Halo CE + Anniversary
I just realized myself they are going to be putting the armor abilities into the games. What an epic failure. I was really looking forward to getting back to the original style of game play in multiplayer. It is unfortunate that 343 Ind. has missed the fact that the AA's are what really turned people off from the game of Reach. I feel as you do, loss of faith. I originally thought the use of the "Reach" engine meant the grapics/software that modernized the look of the game. I have owned every game, felt Reach was a failure, but played because of friends. Halo was the only reason I bought an original XBOX and a 360. I will not be buying, renting or playing any more of the Halo franchise. Unfortunate because they said they listened to the community, apparently not. This is from 343 Ind. in an interview with HBO: HBO: What's in the package for $40? One disc, or two?
