Message to all Members The administrators of 343 Industries Community Forum would like to thank all of you who have joined our community and for being part of this informative, helpful and friendly membership. From our very humble beginning to what we are now and will grow into in the future we have, and always will, strive to offer a warm and inviting forum for the fans of Halo to discuss the various areas of the game and community that interest you. The staff of this site is made up of members from our community which have been offered the opportunity to assist us in furthering the experience. The varying interests and opinions of all gathered here are part of what allows for such a well-rounded series of discussions and informative topics. Our staff encourages the healthy, friendly and robust exchange of ideas and also offers a number of ways for our community to interact. We provide the Shout Box for a direct exchange between the members, a comprehensive series of forums, status updates, play dates, contests and events. We manage additional resources on our Facebook, Twitter and YouTube Channel with additional ones soon to follow. These are resources were encourage members to post messages, videos and responses and reward subscribing or liking with awards. Part of providing a quality experience for all members is ensuring the rules of this site are enforced in a manner that benefits all of the members. The use of explicit language or content, actively disrupting the membership or management of this site and attempting to draw traffic away from here to another site are just a few of the rules we actively enforce with varying types of moderation. Please refrain from backseat moderating and use the report system to bring issues to our attention. When in the Shout Box allow any moderator present to handle whatever issue may arise. Members may at times find that their content, including shouts, status updates or posts, does not receive the attention of others members. This may be for various reasons. You may choose to attempt different styles of posting to attract the attention of others. This is especially true when presenting an OP, or Original Post, to the forum about an idea or opinion that you wish to share. Take the time to properly express yourself in a way that will best encourage feedback from the community. You may choose to research other threads in the forum that have received a lot of feedback to aid you with ideas. In the end though, realize that we are a diverse community and that not all members may share the same opinions as you. A vast majority of the members of 343 Industries Community Forum never, or rarely, use the Shout Box and may seldom post in the forums. Some may only be active for our contests or events and have little or no contact with fellow members even on XBOX Live. These are still valued members to us and are deserving of the same respect and warmth that you may share with those you know well. Newer members may sometimes fell lost in or overwhelmed by the size of the forum, its membership or the techniques of properly posting in the forum. It is also true new members may enter the site very concerned about issues the feel very strongly about. The best policy is to either try to help relax excited conversation in a mature manner, attempt to find some common ground and/or refrain from encouraging a more heated exchange between members. We have noted that some members who spend too much time on site tend to feel a sense of entitlement, superior to other members or become jaded since they feel they have heard and seen it all. Please balance your time on site with other activities. We allow members to express their individuality in a number of ways. Our Art Department accepts requests for unique signatures in the Signature Shop which are seen every time you post. The importing of images to be used for your member photo, background for your profile and your ‘About Me’ area additional ways to customize your account with us. There is a file share area of the forum that lets you share your images with the community. There will soon be a gallery for members to present their Halo related works of art for the members and for related types of shows and events. This gallery will house all forms of media including member’s paintings and drawings, photos of sculpture and recreations of game armors, weaponry and vehicles, video art, short film, machinima and literary creations from our community. Finally, we expect all members to adhere to the site rules and to show respect when interacting with the moderation team. Though you personally may not agree with or be happy with the way you or another is being moderated, do not make public displays in the forum. Simply engage the moderation team via PM, Private Message, to discuss the matter. If you feel it necessary contact the Site/Administrative Moderator with your concerns. The Community Moderators work with the community directly to assist with information, maintain the quality and integrity of the posting in the forums, Shout Box and status updates, review the entire forum for content and links that are either inappropriate or of a spamming nature, and various other community areas of interest. The Community Staff manage the various areas and interests of the forum both on site and off. The positions of all Staff Members and Community Moderators are selected by the Site/Administrative Moderator. Please do not attempt to curry or gain favor with the Community Staff or Moderators in an attempt to be a member of the staff. They do not select staff members and attempts to do so may only in up resulting in being ignored. Allow the staff to focus on the responsibilities they have accepted to perform and not draw them personal position of discomfort. Thank you…..343 Industries Community Forum

This is simply your perception. This community does not lack character by any means. This whole though about groups, inner and outer circles, sounds more like some high school talk than anything else. Where is any proof of this? Moderators are on the inside by nature as we run and manage the site. This makes no sense. They were removed because they disgraced the staff and created this exact kind of eruption because they are not willing to tell you the truth apparently. Jester will definitely set you straight on this for a fact! You again have no clue what you are talking about. This is not why Jester stepped down, period. Jester will definitely set you straight on this for a fact! Mayhem's comments about character where directed at the members which was needed because there is a very small number of members have been causing issues, behind the scenes and publicly. They latched onto a moderator who himself admitted he should have left long ago, he was burned out. Instead of doing the right thing, he injures the site, breaks the rules he once believed in before he burned out. That is what saddened both Jester and I so much and played a part in him stepping down. Jester will definitely set you straight on this for a fact! You have absolutely no clue about what you are talking about. No historical perspective and you fail to mention, and I am pretty sure who you are speaking of, that member was protected by a moderator from being banned long ago for repeatedly getting it wrong and doing so publicly. You are simply bemoaning a friends ban and lashing out. Not only is Twam fully aware of all that has happened, he agrees with all actions taken. Some he wished had happened long ago. He was also stunned at what Vitamin did and fully agreed with his removal. We are proud of this site and all of the hard work put into it. This site is not decaying, it is thriving and growing despite efforts by a small numbers of disgruntled former staff members and there friends. They are what erodes away at what is good about this site. This site is about Halo, 343 Industries and various other gaming discussions. It is natural members make some friends and may not like some other members. That is life. Get used to it. You create the cliques, not the moderators or staff. Moderators have to make decisions, it comes with the job. Just because one moderator burns out and lashes out against the very people he called friends and mentors. Also noted: You are here less than 2 months and you seem to think you know it all.

I fully agree with you Mayhem. This forum is at it's best when it is about Halo, 343 Industries, gaming and hanging out talking about it. When this is forgotten the "cliques" you mention form and the group mentality takes hold, those few forget what we are about. That along with members being too concerned about another's business and these petty attitudes creep in. Only a few members cause these issues, but it creeps into the forum overall. This forum is about Halo. We promote 343's efforts with the new game and also discuss others things related to gaming as well. We would hope members are polite and genuinely helpful. I tire of seeing a new member come in and post in the shout box or forum and have some issue with the game and see what looks like "fan boys" attacking him. I protect these guys just like I do you. They have a right to express their opinion on the game. If they come in a little hot......help cool them down. Do not raise the heat with them. I do it all the time. We have been built on a solid foundation. We have worked hard to keep this forum both informative and friendly. We have made this site user friendly for the younger fans. We will continue to grow and flourish and I hope you will be part of a whole effort to do this and not some small group who thinks they know better. The vast majority of members use this forum to read, post and interact without disrupting it. We appreciate those of you who are truly here for a good forum experience and who genuinely want to be part of such a great community. Thank you.

As reported by Kotaku players who play headless may soon loose there proverbial head when 343 catches them. Here is there story. If you play Halo 4 multiplayer, chances are you've heard about the rumored headless Spartans that you can't kill. Maybe if you're unlucky you've actually come across these infamous Spartans. One of the popular aspects of this rumor is that the headlessness is actually an extremely high level helmet unlock. But that would be kind of silly, wouldn't it? "Hey, you're so high level that earned the right to no longer have a weak spot." Yeah, right. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8Fzl8qHlFBU Turns out that there's a mod where you can take off all the armor—including, despite how baffling it might sound, your entire head. People around the web seem confused as to whether or not this is a glitch, but it's something that can done on modded Xboxes.Though the video here is but a match replay, if you happen to know someone who uses the cheat and visit their Halo Waypoint profile, their Spartan will look just like that. All muscular and headless, I mean. Update: Though footage makes it seem otherwise, the hitboxes on Spartans are still intact, so you can still shoot people in the head. Microsoft's comment on banning the cheaters: "We are aware of the issue and have already taken action to identify and ban the accounts of these modders and cheaters. We want players to know that while the mod makes a player's head and armor appear to be invisible, the hit boxes are still intact, so competing players can still defeat them as usual. While the problem was very isolated, we will continue to diligently identify and take action against all offenders. " – Microsoft spokesperson Players have reported encountering headless Spartans in multiplayer games, with the offending Spartan seemingly lacking any armor. View full article
