When posting maps always give a complete description of what your map is intended to be played as, links for the maps, links for and special game types required, a minimum of at least two screen shots and a video if available. Here is and example of a properly posted map with links. Map : Immunity Icon Challenge 1 (Note the link embedded in the map name and highlighted for easy viewing) Game Type : Classic Slayer Map Description : This map was used for the first Immunity Icon Challenge for SURVIVOR Halo Style and, along with a series of clues, the first contestant to find and message me via PM (Private Message) the exact location of the icon and what is is will win the Immunity Icon. This map is intended to be played in customs games and there is no time limit. Because of the nature of this map and contest I only offered one screen shot. Clues From your first spawn your only navigational need.....will be right in front of you, so be sure to take heed, Before you take your first step Reach out and take hold.....of this weapon of death that will give life to the bold. Using your compass and the scope of this powerful beast.....look ahead for a stand in the distant Northeast. Plotting a course from your spawn across this vast land.....will be the first test of your abilities to reach the objective at hand. From this point you will carry on in a way......that will mark your ability to comprehend the word play. While standing upon this most lofty spot.....look down and due North, where green grass meets rock. Look hard and you'll see the next navigational point.....it's colored for easy recognition, so not to disappoint. Standing on this new mark look back, due Southeast,......walk to where stone ends the land at the least. It is from here looking due Northeast at the top of this rock.....where, when you stand, you'll see a most holy spot. Yes its the cave that lays from where you stand on this crest.......so follow your compass true and Continue on with your immunity quest. As you pass through this cave whose stone middle shines bright.....be sure to move in a way that keeps your path to the right. Standing here, at the end of the cave you will view.....two trees together in the distance towards them now move. While standing between these two giants, you rest,......but looking East, up high on the rocks, you'll rest best. For as they say "X" marks the spot, know this is true.....because from here you will get a magnificent view. Now look down and due West, and your start across water will be seen.....cross this bridge and don't fall into this liquid ravine. As you exit this bridge of height a worn path, you see, will fall between.....two rock faced sides that you must pass through being brown, not green. As you exit this passage ahead of you lies.....a rock in the water, by itself it resides. Stand atop this lone rock in, it's tranquil place, and look to the East......walking along course you will stumble upon a bridge that is traveled the least.[/font] At end of this elevated path, not yet passed, a view doth give......the entrance to another path that carries to yet another bridge. A large stone that sits at the end of this raised path over water.....has to be climbed and topped if you want to see the next marker. It is from here, looking back to the cave.......above which you'll see a familiar color and wave. Turn to your left and you will see with your scope.....a matching color that tell you your next the starting slope. Cross from this slope over depressed land......a path whose end slopes into the sand. It is here at paths end that a crimson bush stands alone....crouch down upon it, look due West, true, for a red flashing zone. It will not be easy to see this distant clue.....you must be patient and expand your view. Once you have spied this final waypoint.....mark a true path until you reach a vanishing point. You final true path, if followed straight, will bring you to lands end.......you need only look directly down, then to me a message send. Tell me what I have hidden and where it is seen.....and I grant you your wish that this Icon does bring. That is the clue to Reach the Icon, please do not message me.

This forum is for posting custom game events that you would like the community to be involved in. You may choose to have an open event that will invite the entire gaming community, a restricted event that caters to a specific group or a closed event that is invite only. Be sure to list the type of maps and/or game types that you intent to offer in your play date. Give the date of the event, begin and end times (if applicable), whether or not you prefer player to have microphones or not for feedback, or any other information you feel is important for prospective players to know about your event. Regular events that become popular with the community will be pinned at the top of the forum for ease of access.

Yes, the regular, or standard, version has just 2 Specializations. They are Wetworks and Pioneer. The Limited Edition will contain all eight Specializations. If you are able to reach level 50 prior to the first DLC you can choose whichever one you like to unlock first. If you have the standard edition, you will have to wait until the first DLC to attain them.

Halo Community Unity I have recently been looking over some posts by Twinreaper and myself and have thought about our community and how we are doing. It feels like we are really pulling together again and I feel like we should extend our desire to bring the Halo community together beyond our forum. Take it into match making and the various other places that you interact with Halo fans. We have a brand new game that can offer a brand new start are bringing the community back together and move forward into the future of Halo. 343 Studios has done their part in creating a game that best speaks to the various interests of all of Halo's sub cultures. Where it can not be the one single game any one fan or group can say they wanted as a whole, it reflects as much a possible what they felt was needed for the community, the franchise and to step into the future with a new gaming experience. Twinreaper made this comment in his thread: "Anyone who would go to various websites around the net, could plainly see how divided and segregated we have allowed ourselves to become. Because of the fragile nature of a community with various sub-cultures, we lost our main goal. Our main goal used to be a simple fun gaming experience in which we all participated, respected one another, and worked towards making the gaming experience a great one, for all walks of life and gaming preferences. Now, we have sub-cultures who would rather shun, insult, ignore and plain out despise any other sub-culture whom does not share the same views. This is dangerous! This alone is why Halo is failing as a community and a franchise. We have lost ourselves among the years of gameplay and interactions resulting their of." This is not true of all sub cultures, but it is still a fact within the community. The casuals vs the hyper competitive's of the 'noobs' vs the experienced are some of the divisions he was referring to. You have to lead by the example of how you interact with others in the community, how you represent yourself. Are you a positive influence or someone who promotes negativity. Jeevo 92 offered this in my thread: "Yes. We are. Whether we realize it or not we NEED to be. So by necessity we are ready. I may not answer posts like I should sometimes. Sometimes I let my viewpoint be the ONLY viewpoint that I allow to be said without me totally tearing that person apart. But that's not right. We are all the same in one way...... we play Halo. We are gamer's and we play Halo. I read some of the books, I have all of the games...but that does not make me better or more of a fan than say, (for the sake of what I am saying) little Johnny who is 8 (thats about how old i was when i played Halo CE for the first time) and who just joined the forums an just got Halo Anniversary. His opinion and ideas should have just as much respect as a member who has been here since the beginnin of the games. He is one of us and deserves our respect and our comradeship." So whether here in the forum or out among our community we should always make the real effort to find the things that unify us rather than separate us from each other. Bungie created this whole experience for us and did so well for so long to support the community in a wide variety of ways. We need to continue the tradition of finding ways to appreciate what we have and embrace what the future will bring.

Has anyone else wondered about what I am seeing here? Original image offered by 343 Industries This is my highlighted image with the Cyan outline showing what we can actually see of the creature, ie, the head and two arm or appendages. Note the Yellow circled areas denote gaps in the armor, which is possibly held in place by some type of force, energy , or magnetic field, and my White outline that would show and approximate size of a creature with a head and arms of that size. Please note that I am not up on Halo cannon in regards to them and apologize if this has been discussed before and I missed it.

The truth is, if you are falling asleep in school while attempting to read books it is a sign you are not getting enough sleep. Energy drinks, physical discomfort and other 'remedies' do not address the real problem. You have to be able to comprehend and give full thought to what you read. You need to be fully rested and mentally sharp when studying. I know that sound 'old school', but hey, it works and you don't have to spend $4.00 on a bunch of sugar, caffeine or Vitamin B complex's every time you feel tired.

I know, Absolute Dog creating a post in the Off Beat forums. Go ahead and laugh, get it out of your system! I was recently listening to a song, a rather lengthy song, from an English band that not only helped shape my young life, but gave me an insight to something that was outside the realm of popular music of the time. I originally listened to this song from Genisis at a cousins house up north in Pennsylvania on a Teac real to real 4 track player with headphones. I became lost in this song and it was not long after I first read Robert Frost's: " The Road Not Taken". Note: All Cyan words are text links and the images are music links. Among the founding Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins who joined in the early 70's. Of these four, Peter Gabriel left to start his own unique brand of music. He still performs worldwide to this day. He was always my favorite member and here is a sample of his music. Always be willing to read and listen to what is new. The challenge can handle eight players per team. If you play larger group you may want to increase the overall flag count from 2 to 4 or 6. This will endure a fluid movement of flag and make the race to the win a full out blast. Map: SURVIVOR Challenge #1 - "C1" Game Type: C1 TS Basic rules: 1 ) Do not jump from one track to another. 2 ) Whoever grabs the flag at it's spawn must carry it to the capture point. 3 ) Do not interfere with the other team. 4 ) Play the game as intended, do not attempt to break the map and ruin the game play. Play with honor. 5 ) The game is intended to be enjoyed, so enjoy. Note: There are observation decks available for spectators. The must be 'Orange' while teams are active.

Halo 3 was shipped with 11 Multiplayer maps and received DLC each time in 3 map increments. I may have had an additional 2 maps in the beginning and an additional DLC, but I see no reason to be so upset when Halo 4 is shipping with Spartan Ops, which will have it's own unique set of maps, and a myriad of features that Halo 3 did not have. Since forge is in play, and there is a history of including player content to the play lists, the maps election could end up be very deep. I hope you take the time to sit back and see what this new Halo has to offer.
