  1. Welcome to the site Carts. I see that Azaxx has offered the link you need to read so hope you enjoy your stay here and let me know if there is anything I can do to help you settle in.
  2. Welcome to the forum Anthony. We are glad to have you join our family here. Take the time to read the pinned topic at the top of this forum and let know if there is anything I can do for you.
  3. I find pros and cons when compared heads up. For sustained and measured rate of fire the beam rifle gets the nod. For a rapid 4 shots down range the Human sniper clearly wins. If I was having a good day sniping, back flipping the enemy with mostly head shots, the Covie sniper would be the chosen weapon. I do like the feel, sound and tell tail vapor trail of the human version, but there is something unique about that alien looking shape with that "freakish" schoosh and light trail it makes when fired. Human sniper in the end for me.
  4. I am against turning off friendly fire. It is part of what helps players to control their play with rockets, grenades and various other weapons with a larger blast radius. I feel that if 2 team mates and myself are in close proximity to an enemy and his team mate fires a rocket or drops a well placed "nade" that his team mate should receive the same damage. The boot system appears to work most of the time for me, but I understand team killing is definitely an issue. There are a few ways you can deal with it to lessen it's impact on you in game and possibly find a sense of justice. If killed for a weapon, I will let the first one pass, usually, and just play on like nothing happened. I know that is a tough one, but realizing there are players who do it and whatever you do in game won't stop it, may help you take the higher road. Always report, always give a negative review. It does, after time, reduce the amount of players they will be matched with. It proves very effective in the lower numbers in Halo 3 for example. It works. Second, if I am not 100% sure it was intentional, I again let it go. Third, even when intentional I realize I may be the wrong target of a retaliation betrayal and give them a free pass and move on. I can do this because I have been guilty of unintentional betrayals where the team mate has no mic to hear my apology and may miss my "apologetic crouching" afterwards. Try your best to be the better player. Reacting is sometimes what the betrayer wants, it may humor them. Besides, if deliberately betrayed for say, a sniper rifle, if I choose, I wait until they take damage and finish them and collect the weapon again. Not exactly the "high road" but hey, it gets to me sometimes too.
  5. As stated in this forum many times before, the "super jumps" of Halo2 were not intended to be in the game. They were an accident, an unintended result of program error. Intentionally putting an unwanted error never intended for them game back in is not something the developers would want, nor most of the fans. (They were kinda cool though).
  6. Actually you are wrong. Halo was developed as a PC game.
  7. Mezz you were doing fine post wise until you used the "babe" reference. It is condescending and an inappropriate comment towards a female member in the manner you used it. I don't expect to see it or anything like that again.
  8. This is the perfect place for this information.

  10. I like the street art feel to it. I would like to see more of your work. I will look at your portfolio and let you know. I have a fine art and graphic design background. Okay, it's later now. I checked out your portfolio. It is light on work, but what is there shows the trend in your work. The graffiti/street style gives a nice impact to your sigs and page design. You seem to have a good basic talent and a very creative side to you. What programs do you use?
  11. We need more participants in the Forge Contest. There are some great prizes! http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/6431-the-march-forge-contest/

  12. You are just going to have to wait like the rest of us.
  13. Judging from the Halofest interview they are aware and behind the PC community. The forthcoming new XBOX has been rumored to carry some unique features that are not quite clear to me, but that may be the time for the PC community to get attention. After the game is released there will be time for 343 to take a closer look at PC based gaming, if they are not already doing so. There was a direct question asked of the panel at Halofest about the mod community. I can not remember the exact response, but it is there. Mostly my opinion based on what I have read and seen.
  14. Here are some images of Halo 4 game play, more to follow directly! Many more coming very soon!
  15. Welcome to the forum Gold! It is good to see you appreciate having good manners. Be sure to read the pinned OP at the top of the Intros section here.
  16. 343 Studios will make a very public announcement when it is ready for a Beta disclosure. Please use this OP to get any of the Halo 4 Beta info that is available. Halo 4 Beta Info!
  17. I think we have added all there is going to be for members up to 1,000 posts. Having these benchmarks makes them more appreciated once they have been earned by quality posting. In the end, respect is given to you by members that read and acknowledge your character and integrity over a simple post count.
  18. Where each title may have had bloom, the spread at distance has increased and is much more noticeable in the single shot DMR vs the 3 rounds burst of the BR. The bloom seems more noticeable here than with any other weapon because it is the primary weapon of choice for most players. Where players may miss state cause and effect, that appears to be the main gist of the arguments. Hopefully a mute point when we see the weapons of Halo 4. In regards to "Armor Abilities" all you have mentioned where Covenant abilities, not human. Having them "magically" appear in a title that predates all prior Halo's and referring to Elites, Tatarus or the Arbiter do not give any weight to the fact that a Spartan should have them. The OP used the term sequel, which by definition means: a sequel portrays events set in the same fictional universe as a previous work, usually chronologically following the events of that work. Sprinting was not a part of the original Halo franchise, in fact the Master Chief always ran much faster than the average soldier. Just because another game had it does not mean it should be part of Halo 4. If so, you might as well argue the abilities of all other games to be integrated into Halo. It is true there were glitches in Halo 2, this happens in a brand new title being played "live" over XBOX and was part of Bungie's learning curve for Halo 3. It does not lessen the game, it just showed how some found and exploited these problems and others followed to compete with them. You are correct that Halo 3 was a more "polished" version of Halo 2 and as the OP stated, he feels Halo 4 should be a more "polished" version of H2 and H3. I don't see the argument. I could not agree with you more on this Mystic. I agree with or respect your other stated opinions and hopefully others can see a constructive and mature debate here, rather than the juvenile taunts and name calling that has begun this thread.
  19. Unless I am mistaken, he appeared to be agreeing with you and referring his comments to the OP.
  20. In the first place, I agree with a small part of what the OP said and have quote it and altered, in green, my polite take on a statement made. In reference to "polished" game play, I believe the game does need to advance, but personally understand Reach was a stand alone game compared to the previous Halo's and should not have any of it's attributes brought forward into Halo 4. The statement I highlighted in Yellow is not only inaccurate, his personal opinion, but the final statement has garnished him a warning by me. I will be responding to other posts in this thread as time permits. We do appreciate a lively discussion on topics, but I will be watching this thread personally and believe me you had better keep it clean. Get your point across without the immature name calling and personal attacks.
  21. .....or that is the Chief's armor damage just after he exits the disintegrating ship that crashes into the interior of the shield world.
