Agreed, my points intent was to show a desire of wanting all new content from Halo 4, whether it be the shipped maps or DLC. I have certainly admitted my love for maps of Halo past and the basic feel and quality of design can easily be put into new maps instead "reskinning" the surfaces of old ones. I had not direct intent of implying a cannon departure in MM. For the sake of discussion, if the of Halo 4 are still playable in MM in Halo 5 due to a "preplanned" design of Halo 4, that would be a great way to bring maps forward into a new game. I would rather see a separate disk, or DLC, that had the "Map Classics" which contained ............. 16 of the all time favorites. Worthy of a purchase in my opinion.

There was a time back in early Halo days that I was unable to play certain game types unless I had down loaded the required DLC for the game. It was irritating due to the fact that for one, I had already paid a premium price for the game, and two, unless I shelled out the additional $10.00 I could no longer play the game types that I wanted to. This was later changed so that there was a DLC play list that included a variety of game types, but to this day you still must have the DLC to play Skirmish in H3 for example. Typically this is not an issue since most buy copies of ODST/Halo 3. Since the arrival of Reach I have purchased all DLC and rarely am offered the chance of playing on the maps unless I enter a DLC game search. I like Highlands, Breaskpoint and Anchor 9 and yet rarely play them. I do end up playing a serious amount of forge creations from the community. So hear are the questions. Within Halo itself, I see forge being the predominant provider of new maps for the community to play on so why should I buy DLC maps that I rarely get to play in regular MM? Is it fair to force a player to buy DLC to play a game type as in H3? Since we discuss separate and complete play lists for TU Reach and Original Reach, is it plausible to ask for a complete playlist for all DLC maps for all game types?

Later this evening I will provide the details for the March Forge Contest. This one will test your skills of working in a "defined" area of Forge World along with some minimal parameters. This contest will have some rather unique implications on yet another contest that will launch soon as well. I will offer this few hints to get the forge juices flowing. "What is the greatest test of a players skill"? "You can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk"? And the proverbial, "You want a piece of me?". This will not be your typical forge build because size does matter.................

I will admit I could be mistaken, but I believe Bungie Pro is no longer available and the transfer of data to Waypoint will be complete by the end of this month. Sparky, if rendered film of game play was what you were referring to, I will look for an answer after work, unless someone can do it earlier.

Supposed Doom 4 Concept Art Leaks
Absolute Dog replied to Spectral Jester's topic in General Discussion
Those are actually some very nice images of concept art. I could imagine that Doom 4 in it's original thought may have been cancelled seeing that the new XBOX may be coming online by a proposed release. Maybe they have had to let go of what was on the table and plan for the new system. -
Apparently these screenshots are from the show case

I can understand the love for some of the maps of previous games, but why in the world would you want old maps shipped with a brand new game considering the limited number of maps that are offered in a games launch. There is already and abundance of existing maps currently. Halo 3 is still online and is as fun today as it was then, in regards to maps. Reflection (Ivory Towers) plus the whole map pack of HCEA is in the current game and are remastered versions of the originals, plus the "shipped forged" versions of Pinnacle (Ascention) and Asylum (Sanctuary). I hear that players want something new and fresh in Halo 4, so do I. We need all new maps. 343 Studios needs to show us what they can do in map creation and not rely on past maps for success. Besides, the maps of Halo 4 are already done. So if we are talking about DLC, where does playing a map from locations many years past in the game fit in to being on a shield world. I want to explore this new environment not only in campaign, but in MM. What made some of the maps of the past so good was their play ability, the quality design and their feel. Give me all new maps!

The BR is mine. It became my "go to" weapon in H2 and H3 because of it's "fit into most situations" characteristics. Enjoyed the sound, look and feel of it when fired.

Nothing for snipers, nothing for swat. No maps......no nothing!

Everyone has had a chance by now to play large number of games across a series of play lists and get accustomed to the TU, Title Update, 343 has implemented on Reach. Should they have left a complete play list for those who played and enjoyed the original version prior to it? What real harm would it have done to have both? Is it truly fair that only those who regularly engage in forums speak for all players? Do you feel these changes, like those in the past by Bungie, will encourage more players to become active in forums? You can vote, offer your thoughts, remember any types of updates applied to previous titles and how they might manage Halo 4 if and when complaints begin to pile up.

Should Armor in Halo 4 Have an Affect on Gameplay?
Absolute Dog replied to Baby Boo's topic in Halo 4
I have thought occasionally about this since Halo 2 days. I always come to the same conclusion for myself. The different armors and permutations were always a fun challenge to unlock. They meant so much more to me personally when they were earned by meeting certain requirements. Having the armors offer different features of lets say, decrease a heads shot box and increase the body shot box or jump a little higher or run slightly faster never appealed to me. I have always enjoyed the fact that the original games of the series pitted all players against each other on a level playing field. I hope this continues with the next game in the original series. -
I have said this before and will say it again......"I love armor effects!" Buy them, use them and play against me, especially in snipers. There is nothing that brings a smile to my face more easily than when I am scanning through my scope and I see one of the effects giving away a player. I have never once found them to have anything to do with a Spartan. They have always had the feeling of a "gimmick" to me.

I play Halo 3 for the sheer love of the game. I play Reach mostly to stay in contact with friends and the occasional snipers games.

I have seen some similar information, I will post it below. There are newer reports of something different as well. Xbox 720: To be announced at E3 2012? "Will Microsoft redress the balance at next year’s LA gaming expo? First talk of an E3 2012 unveiling surfaced when Crysis 2 devs Crytek were reported to have claimed that the new console was E3 2012-bound, and that the company was working on a new Timesplitters title for the new Xbox 720. Crytek have since refuted the claims, but BGR now say that they have it on good authority from a source “with knowledge of Microsoft’s plans within the company’s Entertainment and Devices Division” that the Xbox 720 will be announced at E3 2012. They were also told that Microsoft has been working on the new console since 2006, which supports comments made by Microsoft EMEA Vice President Chris Lewis way back in 2006."

Can we play "Marco Polo" and guess, then you respond "Polo" if we are close? lol

The campaign and MM are already playable, they have been for a while. They are simply shaking out some of the bugs. If they felt the weapon sounds needed a rework, they could simply record new sound and replace the track/tracks with a new one easily. By offering a release date, as stated in the trailer earlier this year, it gives the development team an end date to finish the product. The game has been in production for a long time and from what has been eluded to from Frank himself in an interview with bs angel, it is playable right now. Playable enough to show marketing partners and playable enough for release are two different things though. I firmly believe the 2012 Thanksgiving and Christmas season will see it's release.

A French Wheelmen Way :: A Halo: Reach Funtage
Absolute Dog replied to EparcyL 29's topic in Halo Reach
I have seen some good montages, but that is one of the better ones. Great music, good video work and I have to admit I was laughing out loud at a lot of it. L'homme du bon travail.- 5 replies

seems like there are several of these, lol
Absolute Dog replied to VithcommaLobsel's topic in Forge Discussion
I like seeing a good library of tips in the Forge forum. As I have read, I have seen some ideas that were new to me. I am looking at some free slide show and video programs to recommend to those who offer their tips and advice. Some are easier to use than others and upload through Photobucket. You tips are all appreciated. -
Yes, it helps to use the best equipment possible. If you have ever watched a Halo tournament, you will notice the size of the monitor they use and may here the announcers explain the equipment/hard ware used to ensure each players view of what's happening is as lag free and equal to the others.

Halo Anniversary Community Playdate Feb. 25
Absolute Dog replied to AgentLoFi's topic in Announcements
The Community Play Date was great fun. We had a long one considering the limited amount of maps and scarce custom games that were available. AgentLofi, since stepping up in Choot 'em's absence, has done a great job of keeping the play dates fun and interesting. His added "Special Treat" yesterday added a new slice of fun to the event. The play date also helped me to become more accomplished with the OP Magnum, though I did bemoan it on occasion, and most of the maps are now very familiar to me. If Biggles had kept out of my way when I was snipping on Timberland I would have made it through the day with no betrayals. lol I am looking forward to the nest one taking place in Halo 3 in a couple of weeks. I will be posting the awards for the newer members that had not participated before. To POO and Shaggy, I know we could have made that one challenge jump if has had a few more weeks of practice!
