  1. Okay...way too many Halo 2 remake topics here and they are the only ones really getting any responses here. This one is being locked! The original thread stayed active throughout the whole time and needed no replacement. I will add a poll to the "Original Thread" and you can cast a vote there. If you have responded in here please move any relevant post of yours into the "Original Thread" which is now pinned.
  2. Well for me none of these are Halo features I am interested in. Halo and the Chief nor any other playable character has every had these and it would, to me, just be making Halo like some other game. I truly believe that this is not needed. Sorry, just my opinion.
  3. The other white meat.......pork! Hmmmm, now I am very hungry for some pork TACO's! The person above me has withstood the test of time in these kin forums and still has the wonderful sent of rosemary about him! The person below smells of something that in no way resembles rosemary!
  4. Just be myself baby....there is no other! WYR be an alien with superior technology or a primitive human? You see how this is played now RANMAN? No simple comments, just respond and offer a WYR! LMAO
  5. Please post this in the "Banned" thread or a response and welcome to the forums.
  6. You should post this in the Tech thread for a better response.
  7. I will list any related information here in this OP that refers to any discussion, interview or video that offers any insight into the question o which engine is to be used. 1 ) The first is from nowgamer.com via N4G and dated June 14 2011 and is a quote from Microsoft Game Studios corporate VP Spencer: Article 2 ) The next is a statement by Frank O'Conner and posted in CVG dated November 14 2011 and is a quote from E3: Article 3 ) This is again reported PCWorld on November 14 2011 as seen here: Article 4 ) This is an actual interview with Spike TV at E3 in Frank O'Conner's own words: Video 5 ) This is a video interview with Josh Holmes and Kiki Wolfkill by Game Informer dated October 26 2011. The key part referring to the engine takes place at 19:30 in the interview, but the entire interview is the best non stop back and forth discussion of the new game and the environment, music, sounds and the inclusion of more of the Halo history. The character of the Master Chief will also be more revealed to the fans as well. : Video With all of this information it is still not completely clear what the actual engine is other than a culmination of engines. It is clear that it was stated, "343 obviously has partnered closely with Bungie for a while," Microsoft Game Studios corporate VP Spencer said, "We had been working with them on Halo: Reach and map packs. We started with the code base from Halo, so it's not something we had to re-roll from the beginning. [Chief Technology Officer] David Wu and the team behind the core engine tech inside of 343 have done a lot of work." Does this simply mean it will progress as in the past? Even by using part of the Reach engine, as well as others, would it be a completely new experience? Since being partnered with Bungie so early on, it would allow them to use just the code or writing they want minus, all the features of the current game, as they have done in the past by just bringing the best parts forward. I hope this gives a clearer picture than some of the misinformation that I had even had.
  8. It is good to be back from the land of the sick. Two days of pain and misery are over and hope no one has to go through what I did.

  9. I am going to revise my thought on this for now. Remaking the original game was a novel idea. It truly was a hallmark game and was the beginning to the series. I have stated somewhere else that instead of now remaking the older games that maybe just bringing the original maps of Halo 2 back would be enough. There would hopefully be enough thought given to the potential of including the maps some day within the new engine for Halo4 that it could be possible. The game is missed by so many and either having the maps or possibly bringing the original system back online for the fans would be a consideration. If they do any of this it will be long after Halo 4 arrives.
  10. Thanks Choot'em, I will always will be a member first. I think that any who reads this original thread in it's entirety and see how even though there were some slight personal comments being made, the discussion continued in earnest all the way through. Obviously there were other threads being created or commented upon during the time of this one, but one thing to really take note of is how each of us talk, respond and listen to each other. Then take a look at who those current members are today in these forums. Peaceful words from John alleviated a potential personal argument and Jester's overall comment seemed to sum it all up. Just remember we will all be here for a long time awaiting the newest game. There will be plenty more discussions like that one, let's keep moving forward.
  11. I believe it would be a good buy for you, especially if your have been a fan of the series or played the original. The campaign is still as good as it was the first time, the best campaign in my opinion, and when played with the newer graphics you get a rich feel of the old campaign. There will be some instance that you will need to adjust your fire, for me the rockets due to higher clearances of the vehicles from the ground, but quickly it becomes second nature. The coop campaign play has some lag issues that are dependent on factors that we have no control and the lag of the "guest" or non host player can be significant. The tech guys debate the reasons, but in the end, do not count on the coop being a seamless, enjoyable experience. Match making is the chance to play the maps that were part of the original Combat Evolved game, including one from the PC version, and see just how beautiful the maps are with today's graphics. There is a Classic playlist as well as the traditional Reach play lists. If your are a fan of Reach you should really enjoy the new map pack. If you were not a fan of Reach the Classic play lit is definitely the place for you. Though you are not playing with any weapon as it existed from the original CE, the modifications made are as close as they can be for now. For those of you who are fans of the series and disliked Reach for whatever reason, Halo CE Anniversary is still a good buy. It still offers the same great campaign that started it all and gives a chance to play some of the best original maps that Halo has ever offered it's fans.
  12. Welcome to the forums. Don't hold your breath on the H2 remake unless you are really good at lowering your BP and can go without air for years. Anyways, kick of the shoes, put your feet up and get relaxed.
  13. Welcome to the forums Omega. There are a number of forgers in the forums including myself, though i have little time anymore to forge. Hope you like what you see and get involved.
  14. Hey Andy9330! Good to see you here........kick up your feet and stay a while.
  15. I disagree with you on thisTwin in that the fans who bought the game, nearly 8 million, did try the game and left. You can call it opinion or fact, but the fact is numbers do not lie. It was not long after the game was in play, just a period of months, that the numbers took a dramatic drop. I personally have given that game all sort of chances and I see it is a failed attempt in the series. in my opinion. They tried too much change within one title jump. I sure as **** do not like be called a "whiner" for stating that and neither do other Halo fans. You can compare our stats at Bungie, net and you will see I seriously outweigh you in MM and Arena. I played the game, I did not spend the vast majority of my Reach career in Firefight or campaign chasing credits. I agree that Bungie and 343i should never give the fans to much voice in the game for the sheer fact that most players and fans never become part of forums like these and are not represented. A video game is put on the market and survives or fails dependent on how good it is. COD is not a game I like at all, but it overwhelms the current Halo game for one reason. It works for it's fans. It has now taken numerous Halo players and shows no sign of slowing down. Halo 4 will have to address whatever the developers feel the Halo series truly needs and not listen to just the current members in the forums who are a small percentage of the millions of Halo fans.
  16. Tell you what smart guy, I have that button and it's pointed right at you. This is a friendly forum, you want to trash talk fellow members simply because you feel differently than them? Bungie.net is still there and has a warm seat waiting for you.
  17. Yeah, I know that feeling! From the very first time I played it I could feel the awesome nature of the game.
  18. Game Stop or EB Games has it wrong, period! The member above my post simply miss read the date within their own post.
  19. Ahhhh.....hate to break it to you, but 2012 is next year.
  20. That is why I, in fact, go to the member above you for forgiveness of these sins. The member above me gets excited when he gets a show stopper. The member below me is the one he gets a show stopper on.
  21. 4,000 post should be "Frankie" and 5,000 and above should be "Halo". Beyond that is stratosphere and we can worry about that when the time comes. Gravemind, Prophet, and General are all Halo related titles and rank. The membership status should change at 500 post to "Elite Member" and 1,000 be "Mythic Member", then 2,500 be Protector.
  22. You know what Impetuous....forget those who had an issue with your monitor persona. Do not let others define who you are or your place in this forum. I know you had some "bite", monitors do by their own "Light Bulb" nature as Johnson might say. You and that persona are welcomed in this community, I mean look at the ones who complained and what they are into......psffffft!
  23. If you have not already done so, post in the Technical Help thread. If you have and received no response send a Private Message here and state your issue. Sorry to hear about your issues with Waypoint on the 360.
