1. I have yet to read of that incident. Will you be able to return it to Amazon for a replacement of refund?
2. .....holstered his magnum, beginning his......
3. You posted as i did. The HCEA disk does not include the maps of Reach. You have to have the Reach game in order to play the Reach maps. That is a feature to keep multiple people from downloading the game from one disc and playing it for free, sorry.
4. Here it is in a nutshell. If you are using the Halo CE Anniversary game disk and have not down loaded it to your hard drive, the playlist you see will be what is available for the HCEA game only. You can switch over to Reach MM in the menu if you choose, but that simply puts you into the dedicated Reach play list. Downloading the HCEA to your hard drive is the way to go. The new maps have not been "blended" into the regular MM play lists yet, they will be separate for the time being.
5. Try a post here so Twinreaper can give you his technical expertise.
6. Go into your memory on the 360 and delete the Waypoint download and begin the download again.
7. Rage in the Cage.......no way man! You know me.......mean, bitter, and grumblin' all the time. Ain't cagin' no rage bro'.
8. Mator I will give you this. There is a very specific reason I am interested in your OP. I was never shown tricks in Halo CE. It wasn't until Halo 2 that I became aware/interested in the "tricks" of the game. I knew that some were intended and others exploitations of the game design. I am by no means an avid trickster, but do like knowing all the ones available just for fun or use in MM. I would very much like to see a listing someday of the tricks available in HCEA's original and remastered versions. I too had read and heard statements, but had a different take on what was said. I understand your grief at the loss of tricks in the remastered version of HCEA, believe me. I too wanted to try them. it may be a good topic for a thread in the Halo 4 forums that the "trick" aspects of the game be included in the newest Halo coming next year.
9. This is a copy and paste of the pertinent part of the interview with HBO that refers to the "tricks". HBO: You've said that the new graphics are an overlay, running on a separate engine; are these purely visual in nature, or do they alter the collision geometry of the scenery? (For example, in Silent Cartographer, some standard pillars in the first structure you get to had been used for jumping - they've now gone from fat pillars to curved, narrow structures. Does this change how you interact with them?) 343i: Every jump we've tried so far has worked. We haven't looked at every existing trick, but what you're talking about SHOULD still work, because of how the collision model overlays - but in a worst-case scenario, you can switch to classic mode, make the jump, then switch back to see the results in the new engine. One of the big tests for next week is the Tower to Tower jump that was just completed last week - we hadn't thought that was possible, so we didn't try it out, but now that we've seen it, we're going to give it a shot. The tops of the towers are still flat, so there's no real reason it shouldn't work. HBO: Did you add any soft barriers to keep people from getting to spaces they were able to get to in the original? 343i : We added no soft barriers at all. If you could get there in the original, you can get there now. HBO: Some tricks relied on exploiting bugs in the original code - are those bugs still there? (Examples might be overloading the engine to remove geometry, or using the timed blasts from the Forerunner towers to get past dead zones.)
343i: We're emulating the same RAM space as the original - but the 360 DOES have more memory than the original Xbox did. It's POSSIBLE that some bugs that used to be exploitable are no longer available - but we consciously tried not to fix anything that had been 'broken' before. We understand that a significant chunk of our audience for this product will be using it for these kinds of tricks, and we made sure that they'd be able to do most, if not all, the things they could do on the original.
I have highlighted in blue the specific statements being made relative to this topic. This interview was posted here in the forums months ago. I was curious if this was one of the sources. I encourage members to elect his link and read the entire interview for themselves, I pasted what appeared relevant to this discussion. Thank you for the links Mator. The video is long and time does not allow me to watch it right now. I will in the evening.

14. As I asked before, present a link to the actual 343ind. statement or video that made the statement the tricks were available in the remastered version. Again I am not disputing what you are saying, just want the link for members to see for themselves.
15. I see one simple, yet very obvious potential flaw in your post. I am not flaming you, just pointing out that those tricks may still be possible in the "original" mode of the game. I am no expert on the technical aspects of the game, but playing in the "modern" mode would obviously alter the surface and mechanics. All you have referred to is in the "modern" mode, unless I misunderstand you, so I would like to hear from others who have attempted them in the "original" mode and failed before I accept your referred quotes as actual facts. Appreciate the OP. Great subject. Please offer links that show 343ind. indicated that the same tricks would be available in the remastered mode. This edit was made after his initial response to me.
16. I have chosen to place my 1,000th post on one of my original threads that I started a long while back. I came back to read some of my early posts when I noticed I was at the 999 post mark. I still enjoy this one and you can see my love for the game, the music and the series here. I would like to thank Twam for this wonderful forum he has built for us, Spectral Jester for being a good friend in the forums and his quiet, calm guidance and offering a quality and fun environment for us to enjoy, Vitamin PWN and John 117 for befriending me early on and helping to mold this site into what it has become. I miss some old friends like Valentine F and eliteultra who have moved on. Members like Twinreaper, Zed the Evil Taco and Egyptianghetto have furthered the experience of this site with all they have offered to all of us with their humor, insight, abilities and knowledge. DocSpartan O07 is now home from Iraq safely with his family and friends. There are too many others who are part of the soul and spirit of this forum and I want you all to feel my Halo love. This site has come so far since I joined and has continued to flourish because of a membership that is unlike all others. Thanks for being part of and including me into the best damn forums in the cosmos!
17. First off, I would like to see this thread stay as a member offering of their impressions of playing Halo CE Anniversary. There will be those who may be misinformed, using improper definitions or not liking the game. Let this be a thread that exists minus the arguments and debate of members and just be your posting of your thoughts. For me.....FRIGGIN' AWESOME MAN! Campaign: When the intro began with the music and lead video I was completely transported back ten years to when I sat with my young nephews as the showed me this game for the first time. Did I mention the music? The graphics overlay was superb in every way. I remember now that tactile tingling and goose bumps I used to get when I started the game each time. I have yet to finish the campaign and intend to stay away from the Easter Egg and Skull Location threads, but am looking forward to spending hours upon hours reliving the best campaign in the Halo series! Match Making: I only played one game as of yet, I did lag out of a game in Hang em High Classic, but it was really intense. The Magnum was a beast and a half. I was getting shredded from across the map easily. I will have to seriously adjust my playing style in order to be competitive in that game type. Did I mention the music?
18. I hope they add swat as well. It would be a great fit in the Classic playlist.
19. Forgive me Father for I have with malice and forethought purged childish imps from the Shout Box, thrown spammers into the pits of Hell and smitten trolls with my banning axe. This sins, justified as they were, do leave some remorseful thought of what could have been had these retched creatures heeded the 343ind. Forum commandments and warnings they had received from above. What be the penance thy humble servant should endure?
20. Welcome to the 343ind.org Forums JAKATAK007. Good to have you here. Hope you enjoy your stay here. Take your time looking around and if you have any questions use the shout box. Also, you can turn of the signatures that appear under peoples post by moving your cursor across it, lighting an "X" for the selection.
