There has to be a real penalty for quitting. In H3 when you quit, you lost rank, that spawned de-ranking. Quitting in Reach does not accommodate de-ranking, but a significant loss of credits would bring the problem to a quick end. The system would have to be able to recognize the difference between quitting and lagging out or loosing power at the players home. Maybe if you drop from a game and begin a MM search within 5 minutes the credit loss is applied after a specific number of times. If after 5 minutes you would not get the penalty. If you are playing with a bad or low quality signal the system already recognizes that because it provides you with the connection status in Reach. If you know you can't or may not finish a game you should not go into MM. Twinreaper may have a better idea on whats applicable technically, but players also quit because they don't like the chosen map or game type. This could also be applied to those who repeatedly betray other players, take their credits not their rank. Another penalty might be setting the rank credit plateaus higher for repeat offenders of quitting and betraying. It would rise, per account, at 2, 5, and then finally 10% levels. You would be warned first, then notified of the ranking adjustment that would stay in place for all following ranks, but be repealed if said activity was not repeated for a specific time frame.

I agree, this is part of an OP I created a while back: 3) Once a player achieves the highest possible rank give another incentive such as special armors or military style awards such as a Silver Star or Medal of Honor that could be see in miniature next to the gamer tag or actual rank. These would be extremely hard to unlock and available to only the best players, give them there due.

Having a circular the map open into a series of small clearings with small structures or bases that could provide cover and be used for objective games like CTF or Bomb and have a foot paths that would wind up through the sides of the small ravines for sniping and cover fire. The addition of a small tunnel passage or a close, tight path through the middle. This style of map has been unavailable since Backwash, of Halo 2 days. Having it be covered in a similar fog that hung low and dense like that would be epic. I always liked playing Backwash.

I do not think that is coming with HCEA. It would be a nice addition for the hopeful forge component for Halo 4. Add your thoughts for forge in that H4 forge thread and who knows......

I do not play infection and was unaware of this occurring. Is this a constant event that you are being switched to the opposite character, or is it infrequent? You may want to post in the "Tech" thread pinned at the top or the forum and see if Twinreaper has an answer for you.

Love AA's or hate them, they are here to stay in Reach. They made add game types that exclude some or even provide a new version of the "Classic" play list, but AA's are not going anywhere. I don't care for them, but when I play I have no choice but to deal with them.

Samfish I feel your pain buddy. When my nephew got the Red Ring of Death he was crushed. I gave him my 360 and my previous account so he could play. When his 360 returned it failed again so I let him keep mine. As for the Reach not reading, it does not sound like you have had a chance for to fail yet. I have worked with numerous friends helping to navigate them through problems. Twinreaper has a Q and A in the Reach thread for technical problems, Give him a post and get his input. I don't know how old you are, but places like Buddy Buy Rite do rent to own 360's for $30.00 down. May not be the best solution, but will get you online. Again, sorry to hear about the problem.

Why do you think that the Halo 3 engine was not used for the MM for HCEA? It seemed natural to me to have the Master Chief fight as a himself, not a Noble Team member.

I am currently playing on a bridged connection through my laptop, but am unable to get enough signal to prevent lag while playing Reach. Trying to do it was tough, there were numerous "How To's" on You Tube that had different approaches. Is there any way to improve signal reception and if using the current Windows 7 Home Premium what bridge technique is the simplest way to connect?
