  1. SterkOks I see you are jumping right in and are a man after my own heart when it comes to Halo. This is an OP I posted soon after joining, you may like it. I have longed for some time to hear that music, play like we used to with the new graphics and engine and damn sure get that "old Halo" feel back that holds Halo heart in it's hands and makes it beat! Reach feel short for me too, though I know others really love the game, I rarely play. I know playing the seven HCEA maps on the Reach engine will restart my play in Reach and mix the two for an incredible experience. By the way, I have a little story in the GD (General Discussion) about Johnny. A little boy destined to become our beloved Master Chief. If you are interested, check it out here.
  2. Welcome to the site.....again Cycle22. This is a fan forum. This site is dedicated to the fans of Halo and 343ind. Many were members of B.net and other forums, but are here because of the atmosphere and free lowing nature of the site. There are a lot of features in the posting, signature and profile areas that allow you to personalize your membership and your responses. Look around and have some fun. See you in the forums.
  3. Hey SterkOks. Looks like you have gotten completely immersed into the game series and it's stories. I really look forward to seeing your posts and hearing your opinion on the topics. There are some cool features for posting, signatures and profile customization. Take you time to review the site and play around with it. We try to maintain a friendly atmosphere here, so jump right in.
  4. I like the idea of a map with heavy vegetation on it. Remember the first campaign mission in H3 where there were trees, creeks, bushes, fallen trees as bridges, the river near the structures, deep cut ravines with overhead paths. That would be a great environment to battle in.
  5. I agree. Forge world maps are good, but there should be an option for just the shipped maps. Of course there were a few forge maps shipped with the game. There also needs to be more shipped maps set for 4v4 and 4v4 objective. Mix it up a bit.
  6. They don't have a choice here. They are not going to reinvent the wheel for a short lived MM that has only seven maps. It is a gift to the fans, period. There efforts are mainly being spent on H4 and they are trying to get to market as soon as possible without compromising the game in any way. How would you ever expect them to create a new system in such a short period of time and hit the anniversary date? I am with you in heart, I wanted the MM on the H3 engine, but soon realized that was not an option. I feel your anxiety though, big time!
  7. Explain "mega custom game thing". Peaked my interest.
  8. Really appreciate the copulation of the maps in different posts. It will allow for individual discussion of them. Loved the quick snippet of the "Fine Young Cannibals" music.
  9. Yeah.....I agree that you will be playing the MM in Reach ergo you will be playing as a noble team soldier. The campaign will be the came as before with a newer looking armor. The images may just be a collage of different parts of the game.
  10. The drop pod idea does not need to be limited to a ship. Having them available as escape pods from tall buildings and have very minor directional control so they don't impact the same area each time to keeps "campers" from owning you every time they are used. Possibly consider them for building to building launches or across open terrain so you are protected from sniper or BR bursts until you have landed, using the pod shell for temporary cover.
  11. True, and it would give the less experienced player more body hits vs the accuracy of the better player.
  12. Another thought I had was having armor that fit the environment you fought in. Not a full camo that modern soldiers wear, but simple patterns for forest, sand and urban situations that would be auto assigned depending on the map. Red vs Blue is the norm in team variants, so have the pattern be unique to each setting yet still in R v B colors.
  13. True, Countdown has become the classic slayer map, much like Guardian was in H3. Warlock and Lockout were their predecessors and we great 2v2, 4v4 and objective maps. Reach did not ship with any vehicle maps that supported 4v4 or 4v4 objective game types. Halo 2 and 3 had a lot of them.
  14. Okay......don't speak that language, but your emoticons appear to show support "Heefe'"! Domme' un Cerveza?
  15. Both are Canine and the bite is the same! lol
  16. My personal favorite maps always had numerous elevation changes whether they were city maps like "Turf" in Halo 2, The Pit and Valhalla in Halo3 or Sword Base in Reach. There were many others, but these stand out as prime examples. Multi level structures in a city environment similar to Headlong were able to handle a larger number of players and Turf was four on four and provided great slayer and objective play. Landscape maps such as Waterworks and Containment had so many points of attack and supported vehicle use as well as Containment's functional gates. Most maps I have mention were easily fought on foot but supported vehicles. What kind of maps would you like and do you see the need for more maps that offer vehicles of some sort? What maps were your favorites from the past games and would like to see a similar style in Halo 4? Edit: @ 7:45pm eEST Having a map with 2 to 3 structures with stairs and lifts, streets to navigate with vehicles. High altitude mountain range maps with roads and foot paths that overlook the roads with man cannons that can launch you from on hill top to the other. Underground maps of sewer tunnels that are large enough for vehicles and have multiple smaller tunnels that occasionally drop into the larger ones from above or sides. Finally one that has heavy vegetation with winding paths and low hills and a high tree canopy allowing shafts of light through. What would you like to see if you could create one?
  17. I was thinking about how the BR always resembled the M-16 I used in the service. This thought originally occurred to me in Halo 2. I'm sure I was not the only one having it, but why not offer the BR with either a selection mode chosen with a button on the controller or have a choice available in the load out menu of single shot or three round bursts. In real life use the battle rifle, the M-16, is the primary weapon of a soldier and currently offer single or three shot bursts via a selector switch. Would you like this option? The single shot would provide accurate bullet placement and 3 round bursts would have a sprayed pattern whose diameter would increase a greater distances. What do you think?
  18. If the BR does return, or it's new counter part, will the old techniques still work? BR techniques have varied from game to game, but some styles continued from H2 through to the current DMR used in Reach since the TU. What are the techniques that you used in H3 that you hope are still effective in H4. Is it possible the TU may be the test of a single shot BR? I was fairly good with the BR, but tended to use the grenade to weaken the shields then finish with a BR blast. If using the Sniper I would sometimes quick shoot the body then switch to the BR for the finish. Post links of game play that showcase your style.
  19. 6/10 Has rough edges around the figure and not fond of the chicken wire background. You need to pump that sig up Machinga!
  20. Fail I read, but don't have time to comment right now. Will get back at lunchtime.
  21. You should put this in Halo 4 forums. You should consider offering what ideas you would like to see included or changed if Halo 4 does have forge. Select Spectral Jesters name at the bottom of the home page and send him a message asking him to move it if you want. It is a more appropriate forum for this post. You may also want to read the "Forge" topic that is pinned there at the top of the page. It is a very long read that I am planning on bringing together showing common likes as well as new ideas. don't forget to check into the introduction area and say hello to the members.
