Absolute Dog

I am a dedicated FPS player of the Halo franchise, but am willing to give it a try. Is it an expensive game and how hard is the learning curve if you have never played it?

Do you all have a web site or Facebook page for your group. I have a lot of friend that like to experiment with different game types and always are willing to try something new.

I am already starting to drool at the thought of playing those maps! (Wipes face) These maps will go a long way in rekindling interest in Reach and hopefully get the numbers back up. I know 343ind. is committed to Halo 4, but it would be nice to see the franchises lead game move up from it's current 5th or 6th place on the charts and show 343ind. we are still out here.

This is a great idea. A way to get players back into that old Halo mode to remind them of what was going on just before he went to "sleep". It would even be cool to host a campaign event that would offer some inducement for the highest score or fastest finish including completing all terminals and skulls along the way. I feel this is what is missing from the franchise currently. The need to keep the players engaged in fun events that include all online versions. Heck.....how about an H3 Griffball tourney, then a Reach Griffball tourney. something that unites the fans and shows that they still care about the past as well as the present.

Not familiar with "Connect". Is that PC based or what?

Spelling of a GT is very specific. Capital "I" and lower case "l" look the same as do others. "O" 's and "0" 's commonly miss read as are two "v" 's VV mistaken for a "W". Go back and read the GT and enter all possibilities. Send me a link to the game and I'll look at it, peaks my curiosity.

To add to what Twinreaper said, most people think that Bungie, and now 343, could easily fix core problems in the game with ease. It took me a while to understand that is was much more than "turning a knob here or pushing a button there". 343ind. is attempting to offer solutions to the problems and wants that have been the easiest to fix. Remember they did not create this game or system. They are also working on their own projects in Halo CEA and Halo 4. I have seen so many posts in the past about cheating, betraying and lag (or bad host) issues. There were corrections made by Bungie while they had it that may have made corrections today even harder to implement. Imagine it like this, I currently have 594 posts. Say I repeatedly misspelled a word in every single post and now have to take the time to go back and correct the spelling. That's a lot of work to locate and correct in every single post. Then after I finish I realize that the corrected word now changes the phrasing of a sentence, back to the changes. Then,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,! I know it is a simplistic way to look at it, but it ain't easy. Hope that helps you to see the depth of the problems in "fixing" problems.

I agree with your post. I really loved the first three. When people say go back and play H3 or adapt, I. on the inside, tell them to "Piss Off"! On the outside I will usually have a respectful discussion about how neither answer is an answer. When a game is successful and it is changed to reflect features of another game that is gaining ground or has taken the lead, that is a fail in my opinion. Different types of people play, like and enjoy different types of games. Some play many different ones, I get that. I always felt let down when these series drifted into the direction it did. I will state here and now that if 343ind. does continue with Halo 4 where Halo 3 left off, they will have my devoted respect, money and praise. If they bring the game play style and abilities that exist in Reach, I will leave and never come back. I do not care how many current members are fans of Reach or AA's and out number us in this forum, you are a small percentage compared to the number of players who were lost in the past years. Sure, economics, other games, players moving on in their lives has been part of the loss, but Halo has to get back to it's roots or they will loose those of us who held on hoping for more and never get back the players who left because of a lack of interest in where the franchise was taken.

The "Dive Bomber" should have been there from the beginning. I do not jet pack, but always got a kick out of a player pulling it of on me or anyone else. Some have really turned it into an art form.

Think of it like this, you are getting the game that started it all in today's modern graphics, arguably some of the best maps ever made in Halo for MM and some new achievements to boot. It was the best campaign in the series, in my opinion, and be available for group play. The seven maps for MM will be more original maps than got shipped with Reach. The landscapes in campaign, now overlaid with a new skin, will make it feel like a new game. I know money is tight for some of us, but you'll have around a year to save for Halo 4. That's like only 15 cents a day you have to drop in the change jar. (Jester can do the quid, Euro, or whatever conversion for me) I think you will enjoy it and get a lot of play out of it. Besides, it will give 343ind. a sense of where the fan base is and inject money into 343ind. and MS Live in account fees. The are investing heavily into H 4 with the hopes of success, I will support them.

You know "S" if you are going to "play" like a 343ind. employee you should keep a dictionary and thesaurus nearby so you can use the correct spelling and phrasing of words. lol "Noted!" lol

Alex just don't try to explain or debate a point with her. She is completely in love with AA's and won't accept any thought otherwise. I understand what you mean by getting sucked in by someone who waits till the last second and AL's and destroy a Warthog an all occupants. It is easier to just state your thoughts or opinions and avoid getting "sucked" into her word game.

I have been around this hallowed site since mid July I believe and in that time have really come to appreciate certain members for their offering to the community. This isn't a tribute thread, just me personally showing gratitude to some of this sites "Heavy Hitters". Twinreaper / Our resident know it all that freely gives technical advice and brings clarity to complex questions and misunderstood events or thoughts. John 117 / Willingly spends his time scouring the internet seeking out news and information to keep us in the loop. Spectral Jester / Always vigilant, always well mannered and keeping the forum and it's members headed in the right direction. Thanks guys. I know this is a short list and don't want others to feel left out. We all contribute in our own way. These are the ones who always stand out in my mind when I think about the best this forum has to offer. There was no financial inducement provided by said members to get me to say these things. Anything you hear is contrary to the truth.

Spawn killing in Griffball or any other game type is not condsidered cheating by the system or most players. I t does suck getting caught at spawn repeatedly, but you should not get banned for it. The spawn locations dynamic spawns and safe zones could remove most of it if implemented properly.

It is so simple, just quit trying to cheat the system. You know it is cheating, everybody does, then they come in here and complain or ask for help. Do it once, 24 hrs., twice is a week and possible XBOX ban, then the sky is the limit. Just play the game the way it was intended, it you try to tell yourself or others, "but this or that", you know it is wrong. 'Nuff said!
