At our height, I think we had 25 or 30 2-man teams playing, and I know some would come down from NYC. But most of them were Philly burbs kids. If it helps push you back in, my girlfriend is from Pennsauken, so I'm in south Jersey all the time. I really hope that PhillyGamers gets off the ground and we can start putting together LAN parties like back in the day.

- Background - In 2007 & 08 I ran PhillyGamers, which was a LAN tournament company based in Philadelphia, PA (under the handle Paulie Danger). We had some great Halo 2 & 3 tournaments (as well as some great Madden 08 & Guitar Hero tournies). The business went south and I had some personal stuff go on in my life and I basically just walked away from gaming. This Christmas my girlfriend brought Xbox and Halo back into my life. I've had a blast playing Halo 5 and it feels great to be back on the sticks playing games again. - Mission Statement - Now that I'm playing again, I miss the camaraderie that we had when we were running PhillyGamers tournaments. I really don't miss the stresses of running LAN events, especially now when it seems like unless you have major corporate backing you can't even get an event off the ground. So I've decided to retool and relaunch PhillyGamers as a community. The idea being that we get gamers from in and around Philadelphia together. The new PhillyGamers is starting as a Halo 5 clan open to all players (hardcore & casual) and will expand into more Xbox titles (and eventually, PS4, PC and table top games). PhillyGamers will be a place for players to arrange games, become a better player, and meet other local players. - Roles Being Recruited - Anybody who is an active player and lives in or around Philadelphia is welcome to join PhillyGamers. But, I am actively recruiting the following positions: - 4-man Squad - to represent PhillyGamers in inter-company, clan & gaming community challenge matches. - Streamers & YouTubers - to help signal boost the PhillyGamers' community. - Coaches - people who are willing to help players develop their in-game abilities. - Admins - specifically PhotoShop & Wordpress ninjas who are willing to help build the PhillyGamers' web presence. - How to Join - To keep things simple to start, our only presence is a Spartan Company page at HaloWaypoint.
