Good stuff, Fire. Well done, with a little room yet for improvement. I'd love to be your editor, but I'd need an actual computer instead of this iPhail. I have to say that the augmentation processes have always been a point of interest for me. The medical science behind it, while a bit farfetched, always tickled my fancy. It only got more interesting with Chrysanthemum and the SPARTAN-III's. All in all, I look forward to more about John, Cassandra, and her unique skin condition. Jokes. But serious, I likey. Keep it coming.

What is this "Iron wolf" [non floodians]
Father B replied to TheSoundOfTruth117's topic in General Discussion
Hi, Knightmare. I, too, have heard of this "Iron Wolf" CoD title. My question is: Do you have a question, or are you just spreading the word? If there's a question, then let's hear it. Many of us are delighted to help one-another and will answer to our best ability. If there isn't, then what you've created is spam. Spam makes me sad. -
Welcome to the community! Glad to have you. I do sincerely hope that they overhaul multiplayer for H4. No continuation of ranks, credits, armor, etc… Change is good. We don't want Halo to stagnate. Also: this is in the wrong forum. Which surprises me that two of Team Awesome replied and never moved it to the H4 forum. Either I'm missing something, or this thread is about H4's multiplayer. Blessings of Twam be with you!

Halo: Reclaimer Trilogy 'What could Happen'
Father B replied to Archon's topic in General Discussion
Cloud nods his approval and then looks at the Marine in the driver's seat. His HUD displays the man's IFF marker. PFC Mendoza. "If you're driving, Mendoza, I hope you're better at it than our A1C is at crash-landing," he says as he looks back to the sky to watch for Covenant. "The fact that we're all alive being a testament to his skill, I mean," he adds, singing Trevelyan's praises. -
Halo: Reclaimer Trilogy 'What could Happen'

Cloud stood with the grip of the Gauss turret held firm with one hand. He put on his sunglasses and looked up at the sun, and his head slowly began to tilt as he began to look passed the glare and all around. There were clouds, trees, and a gentle breeze. But as he looked out passed the tree- and mountain-tops and peered through the clouds, he saw oceans swooping up, and up, and then saw other landmasses… Just then he felt a little uneasy. "Sir. Permission to speak, Corporal?" asked Bluesky with more than a hint of worry in his voice. <insert Balder's reply here> "There aren't many of us, sir, and you can bet those Covvies are gonna come looking for survivors. I know we got a job to do, but I'm a little more worried about covering our own asses right now, or we might not be around long enough to get it done, sir." -
Jam shower! Just 'cause it sounds delicious. …Sarah Michelle Gellar or Jennifer Love Hewitt?

Twin: As the almighty Twam may have once said, "No harm, no foul." Twam be praised! A-Dog: Like the Arch-Angel of our lord Twam that you are, it is your responsibilities that compel you to action. To feel remorse is only natural when forced to act at times when Mercy might have you stay your hand. What you must realize is that this is not a weakness, child, but a part of empathy and understanding, things that are the bane of ignorance and fear. The difference between Bravery and Fearlessness, I'm afraid, is Stupidity. You have our support, A-Dog. And if you ever have need of an open ear, mine is yours. Blessings of Twam be with you.

Halo: Reclaimer Trilogy 'What could Happen'
Father B replied to Archon's topic in General Discussion
Having closed up the box containing one M41 SSR MAV/AW rocket launcher and two rockets, Bluesky picked it up and walked over to the Warthog and PFC Mendoza. He remembered Corporal Alexander's earlier plan for the 'Hog and proceeded to stow the box in the back between the seats and the turret. "I got this!" he calls out and climbs in the back. "Oooh baby," he revels as he makes sure everything is in working order, swiveling this way and that, checking the ammo feed, giving the barrels a spin. "Gun's good," he informs the team. -
Aww! Well thanks, Snipeside. No official poll has been taken (that I remember), but from all I've gathered, roughly 99% of our members agree that 343i.org is indeed the best online community they have been part of. Here at 343i.org we aim to be a caring, compassionate and composed community. We understand here that not everybody will agree with each other, and so we try to be tolerant and give each other the chance to enjoy themselves, as long as it doesn't mean interfering with anyone else's enjoyment. We don't give an inch so you can take a mile. We give a mile so you don't have to. Some of us here are even so close an accepting of each other that, well, we've become like family. A number of us even know each other by first name. Should you pick up and feel that spirit of our tight-knit community, perhaps one day you will feel like a true part of the family, too. But we're better than family! You don't have to put up with us during special occasions and you never have to worry about us hogging your bathroom. I love that you love it here. See you about the forums. *goes back to CEA on Legendary*

10 Years Later "Official" Halo Anniversary Thread- Your thoughts
Father B replied to DerpWithAGun's topic in Halo CE + Anniversary
What Twin said. Personally, I'm sitting here in the middle of The Pillar of Autumn, awe-struck. I've yet to get over the sounds more than anything. The sound and "feel" of the Magnum gives me a nice warm feeling inside… I want it to have my babies. Also, the AR. Love it! I know it's just my having gotten better over the last decade, but it feels more accurate. Has anyone else noticed something similar? Anyway, I've fallen in love again for the first time. -
Aww, Mayhem, you can't blame yourself for that. Lots of gamers don't know what that is or how to clear their cache. It's not your fault for not knowing. Now, if Twin were to let that happen: whole 'nother story.

Halo: Reclaimer Trilogy 'What could Happen'
Father B replied to Archon's topic in General Discussion
"I heard it, too, Corporal," Bluesky replies. Meanwhile, he pops open the box to see if any water got inside and to drain it if it needed. Once opened, he got a lump in his throat and tears began to well up in his eyes. "Beautiful," he whispers. Water drips slowly from the muzzle of his MC37. -
Useless Ferarri At least I could be all, "I used to drive this supercool expensive car! But it's okay that it's a wreck. I mean, I died in that crash, so really what do I care, right?" …have a perpetual cow-lick in your hair, or perpetually have food stuck in your teeth?

Halo: Reclaimer Trilogy 'What could Happen'
Father B replied to Archon's topic in General Discussion
After getting to the riverbank, Cloud waited as the rest of the survivors rallied. When a woman's voice chimed in asking if everybody was okay, Cloud turned around and around trying to find her. -
Not necessarily. Between black and white are shades of grey, after all.

HERE FOR REVIEW ONLY Theories and Politics
Father B replied to Graveminddead97's topic in General Discussion
Ooooh I… don't get it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but your evidence that the Forerunners are Humans is the same as the evidence that they are not Humans? I think there may be a fly in your logic ointment, GMD. If this was a test of our knowledge, I think many of us passed. If it was a test of our fandom, I think the test was not made to be passed. And if it was a test of our wit and tolerance of trolls, you should be more careful, GMD. So, good sir, would you be so kind as to fill a chap in on the nature of this experiment? -
Oh jeez… No legs? I don't know what I'd do if I had no arms. >_< The very notion shakes me to my core. …be tortured in various painful (but non-life-threatening) ways for 24 hours, OR suffer from sensory deprivation for an unknown length of time?

HERE FOR REVIEW ONLY Theories and Politics
Father B replied to Graveminddead97's topic in General Discussion
Hi, GMD. First, I'd just like to say that I don't tread on the side of "Certainty". I choose a more enlightened (if confusing) path. What I'm talking about is nothing to do with religion, so let's not even go there. No, what I'm talking about was mentioned in Star Wars episode 3, when Obi Wan says to Anakin before their duel: "Only a Sith deals in absolutes." That's not a complete summary of why I see it this way, but it's close. You want to exclude data from certain sources, so I will. But I give my opinion by posing a question: When we've never seen any forms of Forerunner art, tools or medical utilities, fossilized remains, ancient garbage or other "footprints" that could give an anthropologically-inclined person a clue as to whether or not they may have been Human, what makes you think that a Human being called "Reclaimer" automatically means "Forerunner"? Could "Reclaimer" not simply refer to the reclaiming of a galaxy ravaged by the Halo array? From my perspective, the question isn't "What tells us the Forerunners were Human?" It's "What tells us the Forerunners were not Human?" We know from the terminals in H3 that The Librarian had a fondness for Humans, similar to how we may have a fondness for chimpanzees or dolphins (which many believe to be very intelligent creatures of potential). This is what shattered the idea that Forerunners were Human Beings for me. That's right. Up until H3 I was utterly convinced that the Forerunners were Human. But playing H3 on Legendary you got slightly different messages from the terminals, and after reading them I became convinced that The Forerunners were anything but Human. Now, my rant aside, there's a truth about investigations you may not be familiar with: Sonetimes it helps not only to look at the evidence you have, but also the evidence you do not have. So, speculate all you want, GMD. There's nothing wrong with it. Just be careful about jumping to conclusions based on inconclusive evidence. -
Is one answer exclusive of the other? To be safe, I would say, "Both". It's like I told Mayhem earlier: Nothing good can come from selfish behavior. It perpetuates the behavior in ourselves, and can bring about similar behavior in others as well.

Halo: Reclaimer Trilogy 'What could Happen'
Father B replied to Archon's topic in General Discussion
OOC: I don't see why not, A-Dog. After all, "It's Peli-CAN, not Peli-CAN'T." Will be writing my bit when I get home from work. Been preoccupied with Skyrim too much lately. Sorry for the delay. Peppy: Do a barrel roll! IC: The dropship abruptly began to spin and the passengers were sucked back into their seats on one side, or sent sliding and rolling upward toward the ceiling on the other. Unfortunately for Cloud, he was on the other side. With a, "Hooolyyy ss****!" Cloud was pulled up the side of the hold and hit the cargo netting that held a long box. M41 SSR MAV/AW UNSC Marine Corps He kept his grip on the handle he had been holding on to and managed to keep from crashing into anybody else. That is, right up until the utter cessation of movement of the Pelican threw him into the pile of bodies that suddenly appeared against the wall behind the cockpit. There was much grunting and groaning from the heap of writhing bodies. Everyone wanted to get the hell out of there. Water began to fill the passenger hold, but when Cloud opened his eyes he couldn't see where it was coming from. Then somebody grabbed him and pulled him up and suddenly it didn't much matter anymore. "Everybody up! Come on, we're taking on water! Get up, Marine." Cloud didn't immediately recognize the voice, but he got up, grabbed his assault rifle, the box he rolled into before the crash, and clambered out with a bit of help from the unknown character. OOC: There's your chance, A-Dog. If you want to take it, I mean. You don't have to. It'd be cool though. -
V and A-Dog: Shenanigans! By Twam's sacred left buttock I wish I could've been there. *sigh* Alex and AAN2: You don't say things like "rape" and "SURPRISE BUTTSEX!" when you pwn/assassinate people, do you? … well, I might use the latter in a moment of psychopathic hysterics… Mayhem: I recall the icon being the unicorn, but I don't remember if it was that particular color scheme. But anyhow, I don't recall being that impressed, either, so it probably wasn't you. My child (not intended to call you a kid — even if you are, compared to me and some others here). Your first confession seemed innocent and light-hearted, but your second group of confessions has given me pause… I hope I'm misunderstanding you, but I'd like to address the possibility anyway. Some people who revel in their ignorant view on their behavior believe in the "It's just a game" excuse. But that excuse is old, tired, and more importantly, it contradicts itself. Games are meant to be fun for all players, yes? So if Player A's "fun" ruins Player B's fun, it must cease to be a game. You see my logic? So what does that make it? What it becomes is a stage for Player A's portayal of his own low self-esteem. The Jedi of the Star Wars universe teach us that we should control our emotions so that our emotions don't control us. That's a path that leads to all kinds of nastiness that no intelligent person wants any part of. Remember: People may be smarter, wiser, faster, stronger, bigger or badder than you. But nobody is better than you, my son. You have nothing to prove to anybody. But by repeatedly taking harsh and selfish actions against teammates (or opponents), you're reinforcing the lie that you are no good. So cut it out, and go with the blessing of Twam, my son.

Winners of the 343i.org Halo: CE Anniversary Giveaway
Father B replied to Bob's topic in Announcements
By Twam, this was so unexpected. First, I'd like to thank my fans… No but srsly thank you to Team Awesome. I love you guys. And thanks for all the congratulations from my community. I love you guys, too! -
I think I might have run into you once. I understand that you were doing it for the Lulz and may have been a little naïve, but may have inadvertently worsened the problem. We must remember that Evil begets Evil. That nothing good can come from selfish deeds. I trust you are no longer the same lad you were then. You now understand that children lack the experience and grasp of common decency that we develop by having good friends. Kids these days are largely raising themselves, and that's just plain counterproductive to their developing maturity. So their ideas of fun and sportsmanship end up horribly askew. We can try to fault them, but in doing so we fault ourselves. Instead, we should try to find it in our hearts to guide them toward enlightenment, to help them become Men and Women instead of just large infants that shout and stamp their feet when they don't get their way. At the very least, we should avoid them, so as not to reinforce their behavior by perpetuating a negative stereotype. I should say that this lecture isn't directed solely at you, Mayhem. Rather, at anyone whom may be guilty of exacerbating these problems amongst the young and the juvenile. Now… *holds a metal ring up toward Mayhem in symbolic gesture* Go with Twam's blessing, my son. Through Understanding will we be forgiven all our trespasses.

OK I admit it. I do get a little choked when I see a Marine die in-game. And yes, I do have my own thing that I do after. After the fight is over, I look around and say a few words. I know they're only AI, but they were allied AI, and I respect my allies. Not gonna crucify a person for feeling nothing, but I respect a person more if they do.

Does not compute. That said, it sounds safer and less likely to kill me, so I'll go with door number two. …share a sleeping bag with a weasel or your father (not me… necessarily)?
