Thanks, Spectral. Nothin' but love for you guys, man. Nothin' but love.

True 'nuff. Regarding Floodified Forerunners… Mmmehhhh I suppose the possibility is there. I'd consider this more likely than the theory of the Timeless One (Precursor) guy that vanished after his prison door was left ajar after the Master Builder test-fired a titanic space hula-hoop near the planet it was on. Though if the two theories are connected somehow… I wonder if the "Timeless One Theory" guy is thinking this…

Well, this isn't as black-and-white as people seem to think. Much of it requires the careful consideration of battle types (ship-to-ship battles, ground battles, etc…) as each race is/was strongest in it's own field. But according to the Halo novel Cryptum, the Forerunners lost the vast majority of ground battles when they were trying to halt Human expansion in the galaxy all those millennia ago (similar to how the UNSC was stronger on the ground than the Covvies). Unfortunately, by defeating Humanity, the Forerunners sealed their own fate at the hands (tentacles?) of The Flood, which Humanity had been successfully defeating as it attacked Human worlds. The Forerunners were destroyed by their own hubris, their own beliefs… just like who? The Covvies. The Forerunners, the Covvies… Both were technologically superior. But neither one was the race of warriors that Humanity is and had always been in the Haloverse. And Fortune favors the bold, so maybe Humanity just got lucky? Well, "Better lucky than good." Humanity — All the way, in every way. The true heirs of the galaxy.

"Where's my piranha?"

Because he's tired of digging up the old thread. The Spambots seem to be hyper-active lately, burying our threads under the weight of their inane ramblings.

Penguin? I hate to break it to you, bro, but this isn't the official 343i forums. This is a forum for Halo (and, by extention, 343i) fans who like to discuss things amongst each other in a safe and mature environment where we don't have to be concerned with hordes of trolls. As much as I'd like to ban that person for you, nobody here has the power to, man. At least… not that I know of. but it's reasonably doubtful.

So is this the official "Ridiculous Amounts of Spam in my GD Sammich" thread? I know Twam was considering the addition of a capcha feature to eliminate bots. It can't come soon enough. But it seems that even with two mods and their boss, dealing with all the spambots would be no mean feat.

So, any character from the universe of Marvel comics. If you could choose to be one, who would you choose? I would pick Venom. I loooove Venom. Link: Linkage

Hey, Penguin. Welcome to the community. Since you shared your name, I'll share mine. I'm Kyle. I also respond to any of the following: Father Bullet Father B B F FB Reverend Rev Anyway, moving right along. It's nice to make your acquaintance. If we haven't already spoken in some way (perhaps the Shoutbox) I'm sure we will some time in the near future. Until then, enjoy the forums (preferably when they're not as spam-cluttered) and I'll see you around.

LOVE IT! I've gotten through Halo 1, 2 and 3 all on Legendary. Wasn't a walk in the park, but I did it. And The Flood always make the game so much more exhilarating. Covvies would grab cover, try to flank you but always maintain distance (unless otherwise specialized). The Flood have no such reservations, no fear for their own safety. They just throw themselves at you (often literally). Sure, the Library on Legendary can get a little touch-and-go. But you're facing an enemy that is as predictable as it is numerous. They start swarming? You run. Maybe hit 'em with a pineapple as you go. Try to find somewhere to funnel them through; slow them down or thin them out for easier engagement. Don't be afraid to let straggling infection spores burst against your shields — it beats wasting ammo on something that can't hurt you by itself. Heck, I just melee the little suckers unless they're in a nice big cluster. As for other Flood engagements in the other Halo games, it's largely the same deal. Except when facing the newer Flood forms that like to go up high and morph into stationary turrets. Makes things a bit more complicated, but not impossible. Fire works wonders. Try not to pop Carrier forms without some fire or a plasma grenade. The sudden influx of infection forms can be a pain when already swarmed by combat forms. I've only been killed once or twice by infection forms and both times left me feeling like a moron. Anyway, sorry about my itty bitty lecture. The Flood aren't hard to beat, but finding that "sweet spot" in any given engagement where things become easier can be tricky.

Yeah. I just relived the emotional rollercoaster I was on over the years since the first news of the possibility of a Halo movie. Courtesy of that there linkypooh. I can understand not wanting a Halo movie. The writers convince themselves of some BS, claiming that they can't take all the canon from a game, or book, and pump out some half-hearted screenplay utilizing only the basics to make what they believe will be a great movie experience. And then, when the film flops in the box office, it's because the story was incoherent or incomprehensible to the moviegoers who didn't play the game or read the book. So it's left up to those who did, and understood the movie before it even started, to hold onto it and let the cast and crew know that it wasn't a waste of time, to show them love from the people who wanted the thing made in the first place. In short: the true fans just want a story set in the Halo universe. Unless the makers messed up in an epic way, we'll love it. Even if it's only a halfway decent straight-to-home-video movie, we'll love it. Maybe not as much as the games or books, but we'll love it nonetheless. Okay. Okay… So I can't speak for anyone else. But I'll love it.

Top 10 Single Digits: 10. 5 9. 4 8. 6 7. 3 6. 2 5. 1 4. 7 3. 0 2. 8 1. 9 I have my reasons, but anybody who knows how long my posts can get will not desire explanations for each one. It's just my Top 10 list of singular numerals from least to most favorite.

Good for you, guys. Hopefully everyone's able to accept their winnings. And to everyone who didn't win: better luck next time, boys and girls. =3

You have arch-nemeses, H4TW? What about irl? Or a steady rivalry with a player on Halo?

What's up and welcome to the community, KU. Dont forget to sign up for the monthly prize draw (if you haven't already). The deadline is tonight at 11:59 Eastern Standard Time. I like to customize with armor permutations, but also with paint. What I'd love to see are paint pattern/template options, and a wider paint pallet. Also, more (and affordable) visor colors.

Rumerboy, change your name to Captain Conspiracy. If you're gonna be our Halo Conspiracy Theory guy, you might as well look the part, eh. As for this theory, it's kind of a given. Currently, relations between the Sangheilli and Humanity are tenuous at best. But when a new mutual enemy rises, it's a good bet that the squid-faces will partake of the action (though not necessarily in the same battlezones as the UNSC). Remember the one constant fact about Concept Art: it's subject to change at any time. So Concept Art released or leaked this early in development can't be trusted 100%. It's good to be excited by it, but don't pour your hopes into it, eh. Also, people don't all have the same emotional response to, say, telling a lie. Don't rely on something like, for instance, Frank O'Connor's case of the giggles to be a telltale sign of truth or deception. He could be chuckling about anything, including something we can't see or hear going on around him or in his mind. Until cold hard evidence is brought to light that leaves us with not even the shadow of a doubt, this is all speculation and conjecture. But keep hunting, man. Myself, I'm going to track down all the Terminals in CEA and see what answers they'll provide. But I know they'll likely just pose more questions, y'know? Anyway, keep up the good work, and consider that name change, eh?

<Chief Wiggum>That's some good conjecture there, boys. Keep up the good work.</chief wiggum> I could see the Arby looking for the Demon, but the other Sangheilli could care less. Covvie forces have no guidance; just skittering about looking for a foxhole to crawl into. Forerunners are alleged to have committed sepuku accidentally on purpose. I have to wonder how Mendicant Bias is doing, though. Precursors… Alleged to have been reduced to a single specimen. So unless he/she/it cloned him/her/itself or is asexual, I don't see him/her/it or any of it's kind rejoining the cast any time soon except to make a cameo appearance. Personally, I'm hoping: space pirates, and Samus Aran to make Cortana jealous. Fingers crossed!

Uhh…? Sorry, just a point of confusion there. I'm all for a skill-based ranking system. However, when you consider how many people just boost their way to max rank, does it really matter? Now, to be constructive: The only thing that I can think of to make a better skill-based system is to take literally everything into consideration: W/L, K/D, Shot Accuracy, 'Nade kills, Melee kills, Suicides, Betrayals, Medals, and even how many kills you get with weapons and vehicles. Take all of that and hold it against your Total Time Played. The problems there: 1) Coming up with an equation to balance all the variables and spit out a comprehensive value. 2) Boosting, which though theoretically more difficult, would still be possible. Unless they want to implement stiff penalties for being idle and killing an idle player. Like a loss of match points for going too long without one of your bullets hitting a viable target. And even more points lost for killing an inactive player, who would be booted automatically (losing Skill/Exp) anyway if they idle (read: "don't even twitch a little") for more than roughly 30 seconds anyway, taking with them any points contributed to their team if they were on one. I don't know. Just some thoughts. As I said, in the end it doesn't make a difference. That's why I play for fun and not for some deluded sense of glory. I mean, it's a videogame; doing well in it alone doesn't help you get into a good University, or get a better job, or set yourself up for life outside of videogames. But I can see an interest in knowing where you stand relative to other players. I just won't put any stock in it. It just enforces the division between the fair-/fun-oriented players, and the h-core/trashtalking players.

Blue, green, yellow, purple, orange and pink Energy Swords, too!

Alright, I'd be down for that. First thing I'm doing in CEA is a solo Legendary run. Just like the good old days. The Library can eat my boxer briefs, I tell you. And I vow to find every one of those new Terminals, too, if it's the last thing I do.

Punctuation, good sir. Commas, periods, the separation of one thought on a subject from the next. Punctuation is our friend, Lone Wolf. Rule of thumb: if you can't say it in a single breath, or if it's longer than three lines of text, it's a Run-on Sentence. Now, on-topic: Good theory. Some intriguing notions, especially considering that Mr. Big'n'ugly escaped his prison when it was damaged by one of our beloved Rings. I'm hesitant to join in the speculation in the matter, when certain unidentified Death Star-esque constructs are involved. If it's Precursor, I'll be more surprised than if it were Forerunner. However, I'm not disqualifying the notion of it being something else entirely just yet. All in all, good theory. Plausible. Could definitely see a return of the Timeless One. But I have doubts when he was supposed to be the last of his kind. So, barring a storytelling curve-ball that I don't see coming, I for one will continue to ponder on the little details.
