Thank you so much for doing my Spartan for me, Machinga. It's inspiring. =D <3 Poor blue. =( I guess he just wouldn't stay down. Oh well. ^.^

xD Hey. Think of it as that one-time exception, or maybe orders from on-high to capture a Covvie alive. I mean, the picture Machinga did of my Spartan has him standing over a dead blue, but (in theory) he he tries not to kill. Sometimes we have to do things we don't want to do. =x

Well that is your opinion, and you're welcome to express it. Myself, I'll be getting it because I'm a proud supporter of a great series. I even picked up Halo Wars when it released, even though I only ever played it once (I hate RTS games). But the fact that it will be remastered is a plus, as well as having those new terminals to look for. If unconditional love of the Haloverse makes me a sucker, then I guess I'm a huge one.

My feeling on AA's: Love the notion. Hate the execution. I feel it was just a poor move making them pick-ups during the campaign, but then treating them like loadout perks during multiplayer matchmaking. Especially when some of those abilities switch control of the match in such a drastic way, and then not allow you to regain control unless you die and change loadouts. And isn't the point not to die and give points to your opponents? If everyone had the same abilities at their disposal and nobody had to die to take back something that shouldn't have been taken away to begin with, then there would be no excuses and players would either be good sports and deal with it, or poor sports and groan about it.

As an old Warhammer/Warhammer 40k player, I remember seeing many miniatures and images of characters that wore helmets, skulls and bones as trophies and decorative armor pieces. So I personally would say: Freaking AWESOME idea! There's just one problem: It wouldn't make for good relations between them if the Sangheilli ran around with bits of UNSC guys hanging or stuck to their persons, or vice-versa for that matter. So as far as the canon is concerned, it isn't likely to happen. =( Edit: Not likely to happen in H4's multiplayer, but maybe if they make another game set before the Human-Sangheilli alliance.

I don't know. In the end I'm not a big fan of any of those options. I'm really, really detail-oriented, so anything short of complete customization of size and proportion, skins, colors, and basically every feature of my character/avatar, just leaves me feeling displeased. I guess I'd like where we could pick between a Spartan, Elite, Forerunner, Precursor, or whatever skin. And then color customizing for that skin. Then, if there were changeable features on the skins to give them more individualized appearances. I would enjoy that immensely. How this all comes to be is not something I'm concerned with. Credits, EXP, Skill Ranking - none of that matters to me.

Round 1: Arby, Six and Buck team up to eliminate the biggest threat, the Chief. The Chief puts up a good fight, but Buck fights from a distance, leaving the others to engage in CQC. The Chief puts the hurt on Arby and Six, but Buck is alright when the Chief goes down. Round 2: Six and Buck turn on the Arby to eliminate the second biggest threat. Six is badly injured in the process. Round 3: Buck takes advantage of Six's weakened state and finishes him off. The UNSC and ONI wonder wtf happened and why their greatest war hero is dead. And it's all because they underestimated the lowly Human trooper.

No problem, Machinga. Nobody's going to complain about something you're doing for free. And if they do, karma will make sure they get what they deserve.

First time I tried Library on legendary, I got so frustrated. The next time I tried it was a few months later. It wasn't easy, but I got through it. We'll all get though it. And if you need help, maybe you can co-op with someone.

Suggestions Section and Non English Section?
Father B replied to Mr Biggles's topic in General Discussion
I say it's a good idea. Currently, however, we do need more members who don't read/write in English, otherwise there'll only be maybe two or three folks using it. So yeah. Option #3. -
Bayonetta vs Dante (of DMC) But they might just end up in bed.

Welcome to the community. And Vore is sort of correct; most of us are friendly.

Last night (really this morning) I dreamt that I was a Spartan (go figure) and was missing sections of my armor; I mean my forearms were bare and my lower legs. So I spent the entire dream looking for the other pieces of my armor. I woke up and immediately thought, "That was one of the weakest dreams ever..."

I would, Zed, but I can't get on XBL. But maybe I'll play Reach and teabag some Covvies.

Yeah. What they said.

Don't take it personally. Some people just lose interest in a topic and it doesn't matter if someone else comes along with a reply. People might be reading your posts/replies, but unless they feel a need to respond to it, they won't. It's no big deal. If a thread is to stay alive, there has to be a constant dialogue going on in it, and to achieve that it needs a steady diet of new information for people to talk about. When people run out of things to talk about, they move on. Like Mr. Brown above me said: it's natural. So go easy, eh. See you around the site. =)

If your Halo MM Spartan/Elite had a story of their own
Father B posted a topic in General Discussion
Let's play Pretend. Pretend that an author from Tor Books wanted to write a story about your Spartan or Elite from Halo multiplayer matchmaking. Pretend this author wanted your ideas and creative input on your character to write the story as true to your vision as possible. Post the details of your Spartan or Elite character here, being as detailed and specific as you want. How you describe it doesn't matter, so do it however feels right to you. I'll use my own as an example. Kelvin-009 Armor colors: Maroon and White Personal emblem: a white holy crux emblazoned with a red starburst emanating outward from its center. Given a choice of weapons, K-009 would choose a BR55 Battle Rifle and an M6G Magnum. Given a choice of armor configuration, he would go for a Light-to-Medium duty setup that optimizes mobility over protection. Kelvin-009 normally takes on technical and medical support roles on a team, but he's also a decent fighter. On defense, he primarily tends to any wounded, valuing life above all else in the galaxy, but if he cannot save the dying, he will fight to protect the living. On offense, he moves quickly and strikes from cover, attempting to weaken his target, and only approaching them once they are weak, but never killing them unless he must. Something he might say that sums up his personality is, "The bullet's out... But now I can't seem to unhook my gauntlet from this guy's spleen... I'll be another minute, guys." -
Hey, we've met already in the Shoutbox, but what the hay. I love 90% of your list of games. Love Portal and Portal 2, myself. Just officially wanted to say welcome to the community, and we're glad you've joined. Now please regurgitate my brain, I'll be needing it back to make a post in the GD. =(

I post when I have something to say worth saying. =o

o.o That's a bit of an assumption. Remember: Marines work as a team, and a team is more valuable than the sum of its parts. Sure, a single Marine would get pwned pretty fast, but a team working together to employ skill and tactics could, and has, beat the odds in the Haloverse.

Nice work, boys. Keep it up.

I just want to start by saying that this is only my opinion. I dont mean to come off rude, and I'm not trying to be, so please just bear with me. =) I believe the basis of the Halo games, originally, was the story of Humanity's struggle to survive against increasingly difficult odds, in this case versus Civil War, then the Covenant, then The Flood, and coming to a climax with the end of the threat of the Halo arrays (if they are, indeed, no longer a threat). Anyway, it was a nice thought, but the helmets themselves mean next to nothing. Technically, any Spartan-II could wear, for example, Recon; but it's just a helmet and doesn't make him/her a stealth specialist by Spartan standards. You know? They do, however, make mention of other Spartan-II teams, like Grey Team, whose members and missions have gone unnoticed or unknown. Or perhaps their stories have simply been told through a different media (ie: comic books/graphic novels). Either way, I wouldn't mind seeing/reading their stories or playing them out. Honestly, though, I wouldn't mind seeing things through the eyes of a regular Human Marine. They made H3: ODST great, but we were still on our own for about half the game and I still felt like a bit of a Spartan-II (okay, maybe a Spartan-III). What I'm thinking about is a real squad-based FPS. Marines always work in squads or fireteams (partly because if they didn't, they would die upon engaging hostile Covvies) so it would be perfect for co-op and Multiplayer gameplay. In a nutshell: my opinion is that the story of Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 is the greatest story ever told, as far as the Spartan projects go; thus, there should be no dire need for another game with a Spartan as the main protagonist. The bar had been set with CE. If they do make another without Master Chief as the player-character, it better be very, very good. I mean an 11 on a 1 to 10 scale. Anyway, I'm going to stop before I go off on a tangent. Again, nice idea. It just doesn't constitute a story to tell on its own, but maybe someone else will disagree with me. Either way, take 'er easy and have fun. =D See you around the site.
