Outstanding works all around, Az. I'm impressed, to put it mildly. You get an A+++!

I'm with you on that, jdan. And that sounds exactly like the goal at 343 Industries. I think the trick is finding the balance between the old and the new. Seeing as how Reach failed so bad in comparison with the previous Halo FPS's to keep the fast-paced, skill-oriented, high-flying, butt-kicking, nade-sticking, no-scoping, Hog-splattering, mind-blowing, wtfjusthappened-filled gameplay balanced with new impliments, I'm pretty sure 343 has learned a thing or two about the things they can do and how not to do them. I wouldn't blame you for canceling your preorder, but I'll be shocked and apalled if H4 blows as bad as Reach did for the reasons we loved the Halo of yore. So the only other thing I can think of is to have you ask yourself this question: "What preorder bonuses might I be passing-up by canceling if the game turns out to be a win of epic proportions?" If you don't think it'll be anything big, then you have nothing to worry about in canceling it. Twam guide you.

Agreed. I got your back, Twin. And Mystic - love you, but sometimes it's not our intent that people see when they read our posts. Your first reply was perfectly fine, in my opinion. But what I believe Twin was referring to was the obvious decay of respect in replies after yours, starting with ShockGazm, then skipping a bunch of replies until we hit Unease P34nut's reply. Instead of calm replies simply stating the obvious (that he doesn't have enough info to decide H4 is going to "suck" or not, or replies of "Sorry you feel that way, take care and good luck to you in the future"), some of our people began getting butthurt and instead of taking the high road, they proceeded to selfishly take out their frustrations on the OP. Becoming the community's Spiritual Leader wasn't just for giggles, but rather because of my propagation of L.U.R.V. in the community (that's Love, Understanding, Respect and Virtue). Now I'll try my best to do that the way I used to before my long on-again, off-again absence, but it's up to everybody to learn to let go of what grates on their nerves, relax and look at things with a clear head before replying. On topic: Dear jdan81, I'm sorry to hear that you're so let down by the H4 news revealed so far, but perhaps you're jumping the gun? Maybe even just a little bit? 343i seems much more dedicated to making us fans happy across the board than Bungie was near the end of their reign over the title. I fully expect to see separate "Classic" playlists where fans of the original fast-paced, skill-based multiplayer matches can go and revel in the glory of the New-look, Classic-feel games, if that's your cup-o-tea. Alternatively, if you're displeased by the news of the innovations/"new things", I think you should take a moment to reflect on what happens to games that don't evolve. If every Halo played the same, but was dressed differently, it wouldn't be CoD that would be getting called "The same game in a new skin", it would be Halo getting criticised for it. It's sad that the effects of an ever-changing gaming market has to affect our beloved Halo series, but that's the way it goes. All we can do is try to evolve along with it, and if you refuse, that's your choice to make. Don't let anyone here make you feel bad about it, but also don't waste your own time by defending yourself if you know nothing will change your mind. That said, I think you're still hoping that something changes your mind. Otherwise, why would you have stuck around to read those replies? Nobody can promise you that Halo 4 will recapture the Golden Era of Halo gaming. That's impossible, and we all need to learn to accept that it's a bygone age in the FPS genre. All we can promise is that you won't be alone if you choose to go into Halo 4 and the new "Reclaimer trilogy" - for better or worse. Ignore the guys who got upset by your stated opinion. They'll cool off and they'll either learn to let this sort of thing slide, or they'll end up getting ejected from the community after one-too-many outbursts. Whatever you choose, jdan, try to remember that Halo has always been known for innovating and pushing the FPS genre to further greatness, and it can't do that if they don't get innovative. Who knows, maybe H4 will be superb in its own way, with all things balanced and allowing for Skill to once again reign over any Loadout. Take care, and Twam be with you.

I believe you're referring to Atheism. An Agnostic is what we call a person who is unsure about the existence of gods (whether a single god or many gods) and cannot make a choice, or who have simply chosen not to choose. I suppose I'm not really Agnostic, as I believe God exists. I just don't believe God means what most believers think God means. Blessings of Twam upon you, my children!

It's been a while since A-Dog started this thread. Has there been any news from Fire? I hope everything's working out okay.

I don't even think it's a matter of "copying" CoD's pause screen or how it works, like some people seem to think. It's just a matter of an improvement having been made to the UI for CoD first, and will undoubtedly happen for Halo. So let's not associate two titles that have so little in common just because one received a logical UI improvement while the other hasn't yet. In short: It's likely going to happen in H4. And if it doesn't, 343i obviously wasn't paying attention to the splitscreen pause screen. Blessings of Twam upon you.

Viewed, enjoyed, and commented. To recap my comment: I like it. It's a great idea. It really brought back the feelings of losing Jacob and Miranda Keyes (not Keys like I originally typed lol), Jenkins, and especially Johnson. And it might serve as a good way to show the kids who might just be entering the Halo universe with Halo 4 to see the struggle and understand where the Master Chief has been, what he's seen, done, and help them to figure out who he is beyond just the player-character. The only thing I can think of to suggest is to cut it down a bit. It's a little long for a trailer, and in the middle it started to lose my interest. Overall, I think it's a good work. Was it your first, yeaboy?

Well, hopefully that was just a hiccup and not something that will repeat often (or at all). Welcome to the community, Zamio. It's been a few days since you made your introduction here, but welcomes are always better late than never, eh? I hope you enjoy it here and I look forward to seeing your activity in the forums. Does Master Cheif like Sammus? Google and youtube says yes
Father B replied to Noahsammy99's topic in General Discussion
The idea of Chief and Samus meeting intrigues me. To be honest, I'm not so sure they would get along from the start. Samus Aran is a bounty-hunter, with (correct me if I'm wrong) no formal military training or discipline. She has a righteous suit of powered armor with an energy cannon built into the arm and allows her to perform extraordinarily in her chosen profession. Although I've never seen her handle a vehicle, her armor enhances her running speed, so she hasn't ever really needed to drive anything. These things considered, I believe Master Chief would respect her for what she does, but I don't see him getting down with her, if that's what you're wondering, Noahsammy. Even if his libido wasn't dead. Twam be with you, my child. -

My MoM Post - Opinion of Forum, Members, MoM Status
Father B replied to Mr Biggles's topic in General Discussion
Pretty sure I've already congratulated you in Shoutbox, Mr. Brown, but here it is again in a static location for all to see. Gratz on being elected our March MoM, Biggles. Also for being our community's first Brit MoM. Gratz on popping that cherry. -
Have to agree with A-Dog on this. I'm not trying to insult anyone. I just find friendly-fire to be a great humbler. And as A-Dog suggested: we should keep friendly-fire in mind when we get our hands on a SPNKr or decide to Nade-spam into close-quarters. For example (story time!), in one match on Countdown I had been tracking a lone-wolf Red and decided I had the timing down perfectly to Nade him. I counted back from 3 in my head and tossed a frag through the door he was about to run by. Well, the nade blasted him into a wall and that's when I saw a blur of blue go flying by, followed immediately by "Betrayal". I guess my teammate was following the Red and besides damaging him, she had taken a bit of damage as well, and I never caught her IFF tag floating along the walls. +0 for Blue Team thanks to Father Bullet. Lesson learned. I apologized to her. We both had a good laugh. Then we kept playing. From then on I made sure to call out my nades, and quickly double-check to ensure I'm not about to blow-up one of my own. Another reason: Friendly-fire is realistic. The more reality there is in Halo, the more fun and interesting it is to me. Also, I always try to have a partner to buddy-up with in Teams. That way, if one of my other teammates tries to betray either of us, I have somebody who will back me up if it happens again (I let the first time slide). And if my chosen buddy happens to be a betrayer, well I just make sure to laugh mighty heartily into my mic when I see him get pwned. Anyway! Good gaming, and Twam be with you!

Good on you, Spectral! At this rate, let's see... He'll hit 10,000 posts in roughly another two years. Barring some life- or community-changing event, the man will leave most of us in his digital dust.

Already said it in the Shoutbox, but what the H E double-hockey sticks. 'Gratz, Az! You did it way faster than I did. Try not to leave me too far behind when you hit 1,000, eh?
