  1. Animals suffering. Ex-gf's telling me they still love me after years of being separated, when they lied, cheated, and messed with my head bad enough to give me a complex when we were together. Female friends telling me their sexual abuse and rape stories. Spending hours trying to get by one point of any Halo campaign on Legendary after hitting a checkpoint with no 'nades, the wrong weapons, and/or virtually no health remaining. The deaths of Grey Fox and Sniper Wolf in Metal Gear Solid. The death of Emma Emmerich in MGS2: Sons of Liberty. The death of The Boss in MGS3: Snake Eater. The near-death of Solid Snake in MGS4: Guns of the Patriots. Hearing that Hideo Kojima isn't doing any more of the MGS series. That's all I can think of right now.
  2. What sig? I'm confined to the Mobile site, you see. So everybody's sig is hidden.
  3. I'm Father Bullet, the 343i.org's Spiritual Leader, and I approve this message. Twam be with you!
  4. You know, this is the first of these threads I've checked out. I thought it would mostly explain what I already knew or had an idea about; thus, I never believed I would find them interesting. Now I can't help but think "How wrong was I!" Many things make me miss playing online. This is now on the list. It's concise without missing information, and descriptive without being boring. I like it. I'm going to check out the other two now. Before I go: regarding callouts. Do teams (MLG or not) use their own callouts, or do they tend to be identical? Suppose it could be confusing unless you only play on one team with the same players every time. Edit: Oh! You may also consider linking to the other threads for ease of navigation.
  5. Jester: Twam understands Cortana has a beautiful holographic avatar. He also knows how dominant she is, and that many men are heavily into Femdom. Now, while we mortals cannot claim to know the Almighty Twam's fetishes, one can presume that even he would bend over backwards for Cortana. But, as you know, Cortana cannot reciprocate your feelings, child. Her heart belongs to another, even greater than Twam's angels of Team Awesome. Just know that you can always find your wife a blue and purple catsuit and wig to wear while she tells you what to do all day. Blessings of Twam be with you! BB: It sounds like you may have a bit of trouble with anger management, my son. You may want to practice by taking deep breaths and trying to understand that some players, like the ones you go ape-sh<expleted> on, are either too young or too dumb to know better. However, if you know a player is old enough to understand repercussions, and they insist on troublesome behavior, then by all means, let them have it. And may Twam lend you his might to do so. V: Sometimes, my son, we all need a break. Just beware that too much time away from the Halo may adversely affect your ability to PWN. Then you won't be known as Vitamin PWN anymore. You'll be known as Vitamin PWCH. Blessings of Twam be with you. Jake: Did they deserve it? If not, perhaps you should exercise some introspection, and dig down to find the reason why you would do such a thing. Also: "I'm a kid" is not an excuse, and does not give anyone the right to ruin anyone else's fun. And that's what we're all about here, isn't it? "Good times for all." Not only ourselves. Heed the word. Bear the word. Spread the word. Twam be with you, my child.
  6. It's well deserved narcissism. I would love to contend with a H3 screencap of my own… but I cannot. Besides, I can't get on XBL yet. Good luck to everybody participating!
  7. The poster above me knows an interesting bit about architecture. The poster below me knows an interesting bit about demolishing architecture.
  8. Glad to hear/read it, Choot 'Em. You made my day. I'm still in the dark on the Who, What, When, Where, Why and How, but as long as things are better, it doesn't bother me not knowing. Note: the count of 13,000 members is including duplicate and phantom member accounts, is it not? Twam knows I love him (bromantically) but he and Team Awesome don't have time to weed these accounts out.
  9. OOC I don't know if it's me, or if V is confused. There's one other downed Pelican, or two? I thought there was one, plus a makeshift basecamp elsewhere, both under attack. Clarification would be appreciated by my as yet unexploded brain. Edit, 11/26/2011: Oooh OK. I'm back on track now. Thanks, V. Totally confused myself. IC: "WhaAH!" was all Cloud could manage. As the 'Hog lurched forward, his grip tightened on the Gauss cannon. When this happened, he accidentally fired a shot off in a random direction up over the treetops. "Ohshi--"
  10. In the fictional universe of Halo (hereafter known as the "Haloverse"), if robotics engineers created a body for a "Smart" AI, how might that impact Humanity? Would they bear our legacy as the Monitors did the Forerunners'? Would rampant AI in robot bodies flip balls and go on killing sprees? Would they replace Humanity as the dominant intelligence? Do they replace SPARTANs as Humanity's best defense against threats from within and without? • I'm curious about the thoughts my fellow community members may have on this hypothetical scenario. Feel free and at ease to share them. And, as always: Blessings of Twam be with you, my children.
  11. Kicking the box next to his feet and nodding to Trevelyan, Bluesky, giddy with excitement, tells him, "Saddle up, Wings."
  12. Arby. I believe he can still get himself some poontang. …be on the receiving end of a sniper or CE's magnum?
  13. I have to say… Star Trek. Sure it's cool, but it's too sciencey for my love of far-out sci-fi. Also: Star Wars has Lightsabers. …serve in the Armed Forces for a few years, or re-do grades K through 12?
  14. It's alright, Doc. We understand. And it's good to hear from you, bud. Enjoy your freedom. You've earned it, man.
  15. H.A.M. — Kanye West and Jay-Z.
  16. Hearing out PFC Mendoza and then Cpl. Alexander, Pvt. Bluesky takes his eyes off the sky to look around at the squad. Still in the back of the 'Hog, his grip subconsciously tightened on the Gauss cannon turret. "Well I'm already here," Bluesky began with a huff. "Whoever rides shotgun can use the SPNKR. We'll hit those Covvies so hard they'll die of shock, or maybe awe. Or maybe some will die of shock, and others, awe." He paused to take a breath. "And you know what we should call this operation?" he looked around as his smirk grew into a grin. "Operation SURPRISEBUTTSEX." Bluesky appeared incredibly pleased with himself.
  17. "Special Guest Host" spots? Perhaps made available to your good buddies here at 343i.org?
  18. Well that was either out of compassion or indifference. Hmm… Advice: If compassion: Even saints had a limit to their tolerance. Know where to draw the line and act so that it need not be crossed again. If indifference: You might as well have laughed along with and spurred the person on to do it some more. Sometimes we don't have to join in on despicable behavior to make it OK for others to keep doing it; we just have to sit idle. Fun and games, my child. Fun and games. Twam be with you.
  19. *Gives Kurt a great big hug* Kurt, don't put your foot in your mouth, it's not healthy. You're asking why Humans would go to war with each other, man. A practice that has come about time and time again, and still occurs (both in the Haloverse, and reality) — Innies fighting the UNSC for independence, for example. But your intention is understandable. Greg Bear mentions that Humans and Forerunners once went to war over what the Forerunners believed to be the aggressive expansion of Human territory. Humans were subsequently de-evolved so they might learn a lesson. Side note: I find the notion greatly amusing that the Forerunners fancy themselves the wisest of species, yet made the awful mistake of eliminating their potential saviours from the Flood. Similar to how people during the Black Death (Bubonic Plague) blamed and killed cats for the plague, while the cats were the only thing that could've helped keep the rat population down and save many lives. Humans Cool cats. Anyway, what I'm getting at is that there is no concrete evidence (that I've seen or heard) that Forerunners can't be somehow (even loosely) related to Humans. Let's keep our minds open, gang. A closed mind is a dead mind. We're not brain-dead, are we? I don't think so.
  20. Some questions, H4TW. 1) Host(s)? 2) Topics? 3) Gaming while discussing? 4) Tips and Tricks segment? 5) Hysterical interruptions by 9-year-old brother? 6) Jerry Springer show type episodes? Curious, you see.
  21. Ain't nothin' wrong with that. And it's a fanfic, after all. Fanfic writers may try to stay the course, but sometimes deviations must be made for the sake of our own tales. I've had to do all my writing on my iPhail 4. So I can appreciate what you've done there.
  22. Hey, gang. T'is I, Twam's biggest fan in a cleric's robe (over my red and white Mk. VI, of course). I'll admit that I don't tread into the Halo forums themselves much. Tend to stick to the GD where the community spirit seems at its strongest to me. I'll pop into the Halo forums every now and again, but mostly only when I'm informed of a post that I would be, or should be concerned with. Not to mention life, work and games (Skyrim, for example), take up a lot of my time, so I'm not really sure what's been happening to cause a rift in the community. If folks are being belligerent and not giving anyone else the chance to express their opinion on the topic of a thread, then that's just not right. In fact, if that's how it is, it seems to me to be the equivalent of SPAM! and it should be treated as such. Discussions that are one-sided are not discussions at all, and I would see it obliterated from the forum. Either share and play nicely, or Daddy'll have to get his belt. See how serious I'm being right now? I'm serious.'s to all in Twam's grace.
  23. I approve. Finally! A MoM to my Father. Edit:  Why am I suddenly afraid?
