  1. Today it was revealed that Western Australia is looking to place a ban on the sale and purchase of all R18+ games, especially to minors. A report made this month released by the Joint Standing Committee on the Commissioner for Children and Young People recommends that the Australian government outright ban sales for Mature or R18+ games. Kotaku.com states that the report was originally made in 2013 and has gone through reworking, only now being considered by the Western Australian Government. Currently, it needs to be reviewed by the Attorney General of Western Australia before it can be passed. The report outlines the details of banning the sale, purchase, ownership, and advertisement for such products as R18+ Games and films. The passing would also make it impossible for a parent or guardian to supply an underage person with an R18+ game or film, despite the person's platform of use belonging to the adult. As well, the advise an educational campaign be enacted to alert parents of the dangers of mature content in film and games, and enforce these new laws. The broad topic also covers the, "sexualisation of children in all forms of media".
