Let me start off by saying I love this game; more than I thought I would. However, the challenge system really needs to be reworked. It seriously takes away from the fun of the game. It's a good concept but some of the challenges are way too difficult. I've successfully completed a weekly challenge and it was a serious grind. I'm a pretty good player and the fact it was tough for me means it's going to be impossible for most. Some of my friends are totally stuck because they're out of swaps and can't complete some of their challenges no matter how much they try. There's also the issue of only being able to earn experience points via challenges; players should be rewarded for winning games, getting medals, and killing enemies. I think there are some solutions: - Give players 1-2 free swaps everyday so they don't get stuck with challenges they can't complete. - Keep challenges simple. Instead of making them specific like getting perfect kills or knocking a warthog off a map with a repulsor, stick to things like getting 15-20 kills in a specific game mode or playing a game mode x number of times. Challenges everyone can complete will serve the player base more than challenges only a select few can complete. - Require fewer weekly challenges to be completed in order to unlock the item available; after all these are just cosmetics and shouldn't be difficult to obtain. - Reward experience points for winning games, getting medals, and making kills. Not just for challenges. Finally, the reason for challenges should be to get players engaged in the game and logging in. When they're too difficult or specific it takes away from the experience of playing the game. Halo is about playing matches, doing objectives with your team, and just good old fashioned combat. It's difficult to concentrate on those aspects of the game (and dare I say frustrating) when your top priority is getting 5 splatters with a warthog or killing an enemy spartan with a coil. That's all folks

I was playing Halo 4 on Live and was completing the Spray and Pray challenge of 150 kills with an automatic rifle and the reward was 20,000 experience upon completion. I haven't received the experience points but it say that I have completed the challenge. Has anyone else had this problem? I have contacted XBOX LIVE support and they gave me this link thinking I would get better results from a post. I was at the end of completing level 89 and was only shy 1,000 experience from leveling up and I had 2 kills left to complete the Spray and Pray challenge. Nothing has been accredited and I have restarted my XBOX with no luck. Hopefully, I can get some answers. Thanks for the help in advance!

Challenges are the best way for someone to get tons of extra xp. The monthly challenge right now gets you 15000 xp. So if you ever need more xp, press start, go up, click on challenges, and see what you need to do.

Earlier today, I completed the war games daily titled "Fully Automated," racking in just 13 kills. I wanted to complete the war games weekly titled "Fully Automated," which asks for the player to get 15 kills with an automatic weapon in 1 match. Well, I made a point to get the achieve before I went to bed. I racked up 18 kills with the assault rifle as a loadout weapon in my most recent match. I'm going to bed now, so you can review my last game or something. The problem is, it didn't register as a completion of the weekly challenge, where it still shows progress stuck at 13/15. This is probably a bug where either weeklies can't be completed if a daily has the same name, or the "Infinity Challenge Regicide" doesn't qualify as a game mode for completing challenges. Any input is appreciated, -ManBearPig916

I don't understand why they aren't giving us everything there is to offer, I have so many questions and I'm just hoping someone can answer some of them for me. I am talking about few things here but mainly the matchmaking, I'm not here to complain about it, I'm thoroughly enjoying it, but it is definitely getting repetitive -Matchmaking First problem with the matchmaking is the playlists, why are there so few? Why is there no doubles and what happened to assault? It just makes no sense to me to not have more playlists in there, they have Griffball and Extraction in custom games but not in matchmaking. I guess they could say they want less playlists so there are more players in each one providing more games to find, more people close to you, better connection etc. but we survived in Halo 3, sometimes searching in the early hours of the morning in Assault with less than 100 people in the playlist, but we made it work. I guess this is more of a plea for more playlists, especially doubles (which was in my opinion the best playlist ever), or at the very least an explanation as to why there aren't more. Second, Rank. I know they're working on their ranking system but daaaaaaaaamn, I've been sitting on 70 for aaaaaaages because I couldn't afford to pay extra for early specializations and it grinds my gears that you can reach max level very quickly just by putting lots of time in, too much emphasis has been put on the casual gamers. The amount of XP you get just for seeing out a matchmaking game til the end is ridiculous, sure I don't want people quitting but I don't to sit there pulling out all the stops, getting only up to 3000XP (Seems to be the max) while my AFK teammate gets half that just because he was too lazy to push a few buttons and quit. They NEED to bring the proper rank system out ASAP, I worked ridiculously hard for my 50 in H3 and it took me a long time, where as it took me a couple of weeks to get to 70 and I see other 70's on my team and think "sweet, we should take the other team to the cleaners." But in actuality all they've done is put in the hours and reached 70 without performing well in game at all. Third, Specializations. C'moooooooooon, let me level up more, getting early access to specializations should be rewarded for being a fan no doubt about it, but when I stomp through the noobs getting to 70 quickly and not being able to progress because I didn't front up the extra dollars for early access it pisses me off. Those 12 year old "fans" whose parents bought the most expensive one they could find shouldn't get early to those specializations. Don't tease me 343, "Here's our game enjoy, oh wait, you've been playing quite a lot today, you're not allowed any more XP today how about that?" "Oh you've reached level 70 already, great job but you can't go any further because only fans get the early specializations and you clearly not a fan because you didn't pay us enough." Fourth, "Challenges" Challenges are meant to be just that, a challenge. "Complete 4 matchmaking games" They already give out to much XP for completing matches then they put out a challenge that gives out more XP just for playing 4 games. These challenges are just like the ranking system, rewarding people just for putting in time, you will always get the daily and weekly challenges just by playing. Challenges should be difficult, you should have to strive to get them with every possibly that would might not get the daily challenge today because you're just not good enough. -Moooooooving on to something else, Fileshare. This one just baffles me, why can't we see everyone's fileshares yet? That's all I have to say about that one... I guess that's all I have to say for now, apologies if it seems like I'm having a bit of a rant. I was huge fan of Halo 3 and I love Halo 4 but I feel like they could be doing a lot more for fans and they could cater more towards better players instead of the casual gamer.

The last week of Daily Challenges has been a mess. The "Win 9 games of X game mode" challenges are really annoying, especially in Flood and Regicide, where winning isn't even enough; you have to come in 1st place to get progress towards the challenge. I mean, I completed both of this weeks Weekly Challenges before I completed one of Monday's Daily Challenges. The experience rewards for these challenges is abysmal for the skill required. 2750 XP for winning 9 games of Flood? I get that much XP from losing a game of Flood, trying to win isn't even worth it.

From Friday (yesterday) until this morning (Saturday), I was playing with some friends. In Campaign mode, War Games and Spartan Ops. I started late yesterday, so I had no issues with the XP Cap until 11:30 PM or something like that. So I just wated for it to reset at 00:00. When it was resetted, I kept playing like before. Already at 2:00-2:30 AM this night I reached the XP Cap again (I believe it's around 75K Xp). Well, it's alright I guess. I'm not only playing for Xp, although it's nice to see progression except for kills and deaths. But then I noticed. I kept completing random challenges (different tiers), but after the matches was finished, there was no progression in my XP. This is ridiculous 343i! It's one thing to remove our ability to gain XP after a certain amount of playtime (75K +/- XP), but not letting us obtain the XP from Challenge Rewards... (facepalm ) I've completed alot of tier 3-4 challenges which would normally give me from 750xp to 2500xp per challenge, but I haven't gotten them. This also happened to me some days ago, but I just thought you'd get the XP Rewards afterwards, but no... Now I'm 2 games from the Weekly Challenge (117 War Games Completed). Knowing that I won't obtain the 17K XP from completing that Challenge makes me not want to play. 17K XP = 30 minutes of Spartan Ops (with a average team), or an hour with War Games. Seriously, think about it. Maybe fix it in the next Patch update? - Recon
