  1. (pictured above) The Hunters vs the Goliath Evolve, the highly anticipated game created by Left 4 Dead creators Turtle Rock Studios, has been pushed back to February 10th, 2015 (compared to the original release of October 21st, 2014). I will be quoting Gamespot for this. According to Gamespot, 2K Games originally announced Evolve's delay as they released their Financial Results for the "Most Recent Quarter", and during a call with investors, Take-Two's President Karl Slatoff said: "We are encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive response from press and fans, and believe by extending development by a few months, it will allow the team enough time to fully realize their creative vision for Evolve," Then later on in the call, Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick replied to a question with: "Historically, we've always benefited from giving the creative teams more time to polish the titles; we've never regretted it." Gamespot did not post the full transcript, but they said that Zelnick noted February was a ,"pretty terrific release window. It's not at all crowded, and we will benefit from the fact that there are a lot of holiday sales of consoles so the install base will be bigger." The player-controlled Goliath Turtle Rock seems to be doing what allot of other Devs are doing: delaying games to 2015 to allow for "More Polish Time", like Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham Knight. This isn't necessarily a bad thing if the games are delayed for Polishing, but if too many devs start delaying the games, then we won't have much to look forward to in 2014 (well except the MCC ). On the flipside 2015 is looking to be a REALLY great year of games. Just 4 of the slew of Hunter options in Evolve For those who do not know what Evolve is: Evolve is a 4v1vE game similar to Left 4 Dead. 4 players are Hunters in FPS, and it's their job to take down the player controlled "Monster" (who is controlled in 3rd person), while killing/surviving against dangerous AI wildlife on the different maps. The Hunters have options for varying classes who each have their own personalities/looks, loadouts, and abilities (as seen in the picture above). Monster Upgrade Menu with the Kraken present The player has multiple Monster, and Hunter options that have their own unique abilities, strengths, and weaknesses + multiple upgrades. So far 2 different Monster classes were revealed: the hulking fire-breathing Goliath, and the Kraken (pictured above): a slender hovering Cthulhu like creature. The Monster however "evolves" to become stronger, bigger, and more formidable by differing variables, and the Hunter's aim to take it out before it can become too powerful. - - - - - Evolve is planned for release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on February 10th, 2015 ; last-gen has yet to receive any confirmation of release. 2. A new Evolve DLC is on the way introducing four more hunters and one new monster to the fray on Shear! Evolve has been hammered for it's lack of content, and it looks like Turtle Rock Studios hopes to fix that this month with a new DLC for the game introducing 5 new characters. There are four hunters included in the pack when it launches, as confirmed on EvolveGame.com. Torvald, the Assault, a cyborg with a mortar ability, Crow, the Trapper, who has a bat-like creature at his disposal, Slim, the Medic, an insectoid who utilizes a power draining gun, and Sunny, a Support with a keen grenade launching rifle. On top of this, a crab-like monster is being tossed unto Shear known as Behemoth. All are available on the same date, March 31st, and will cost money to download, unless if you pre-ordered, in which you'll get Behemoth for free. All platforms will get the DLC on the same date for the same price, Turtle Rock has confirmed. View attachment: SlimEvolve1.png Personally, these all look very cool, but I'm not sure I have the cash to shell out on an already $60 title for these minute bursts of new fun. Let me know what you think down below! Thanks a ton for reading!

  5. The developers of the hit new multiplayer game, Evolve, have promised that all of the game's downloadable maps in the future will be free to all players. Season Passes these days are in full fruition, and it seems like every company wants to milk any feature they 'reward' you with dry and force you to output more money on DLC than the actual game costed. Polygon.com states that Evolve developers, Turtle Rock Studios, are avoiding this trend and making all future expansion maps free to all. Their reasoning was that, "We never want anyone to get booted off of a server because they haven't bought something." Although map DLCs are being made free to all players, that doesn't mean Evolve won't contain other paid content. More Hunters and Monsters will be added post launch that will cost money, but even if you don't buy them you can still play alongside them if your friends have them. Evolve launches on February 10th for current gen and PC only, so if you're on the Xbox 360 and PS3, it might be time to upgrade. According to Polygon.com, 2K has announced some exciting news for fans of the game, a confirmed release date in the fall line-up of October 21st, 2014. Evolve could receive some trouble at launch however due to the fact that a wealth of other hit titles will be releasing during that month like Batman: Arkham Knight, Alien Isolation, and Driveclub just to name a few. As previously announced, it will be available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 world-wide. You can pre-order to get a few bonuses like the Monster Expansion Pack, which includes a skin for your Goliath. View attachment: 2K_EVOLVE_E3_Character_Bucket2.jpg Are you pre-ordering Evolve for pick-up on October 21st, or can you simply not afford it with the heap of other triple-A titles releasing? Let us know below! Batman: Arkham Knight Gameplay Trailer Released Batman: Arkham Knight, the fourth and final game in the Arkham Franchise, is expected to release this fall in October, and we recently got our first glimpse of in-game content rather then just High Definition screenshots. On Xbox's channel, a trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight was released, showcasing a few new things. In the trailer, called "Evening the Odds", we got our first glimpse of in-game scenes with Two-Face and Batman, and our first look at Scarecrow and Rocksteady's new villain, the Arkham Knight. We also see some scenes of the Batmobile and it's ability to drive through the streets and sewers. The video is mostly narrated by Scarecrow, like the first trailer. Star Wars Attack: Squadrons Cancelled by Disney After the cancellation of the promising Star Wars 1313, fans were skeptical about a new title under the name Attack Squadrons, but with a fairly successful closed beta, we were hopeful that the game would outlast, it did not. According to the official site, StarWarsAttackSquadrons.com, development stopped after careful deliberation about other star wars outlets. They said specifically, "After much consideration, we have decided to cease development so that we can focus on other Star Wars game experiences. We truly appreciate the time you spent engaging in the beta." No other information was released on the unfortunate cancellation, but this could lead to good things such as other ventures in the Star Wars franchise, that will hopefully not be cancelled. View attachment: 1400876695-star-wars-attack-squadrons.jpg Did you see promise in Attack Squadrons, or is this an unintelligent move on Disney's part? Debate below!
