The original halo trilogy had a much more depressing feel with the music, main menu, darker colors, and maps with a darker and drowsier feelings when compared to halo 4. The change in maps may be explained through the change in graphics but if that's so then i want older graphics back. The darker colors may also be from a change in graphics in certain areas of gameplay such as multiplayer and custom games feel less moody. The music in the original games sank more into your heart and soul while i feel that the new music teases you then gives you nothing in return. The new music is still good but i keep desperately waiting for climax just to not get one. The original songs either had a very distinct climax (humming monks song which was actually implicated in nemesis and revival ost) or the entire song was a climax (halo 3 last level escape from the halo ring music- forgot the name- none of the new songs felt like this). The campaigns of of halo 4 to halo 3 or 95% the same excluding the prometheans and lack of the flood. The two campaign actually feel the same. I want brutes! Damn those elites for killing them off! Some tiny changes greatly impact the games feel alot. there is no dual wielding. people are not as bouncy. there is no arbiter. change in sound effects. no more respawn wait period. spartan death sound doesnt have the same effect on me as it used to. the main menu does NOT replicate the feeling of the originals. i wish they would do the moving cycle like they did before with the halo rings or the ark in halo 3. the colors were darker in the original main menus or had a more focused theme(halo rings). now we have a shield planet with light gleaming off of it and a cluttered mess of debris that takes my eyes off the main focus. all around i feel like these changes are for the better but i still miss the depressing feeling originally portrayed by bungie. some things still need to be changed with the new trilogy though.
