Hi everyone, Spartan here with site poll #85. Last week we talked about whether you wanted the REQ system to return in Halo Infinite's multiplayer or not, and we got a few mixed responses. Some of you thought it was 'repulsive', some thought it was just fine and should return, others thought it needed improvement but isn't a bad idea. We had a lot of great, detailed posts. Click here to view the last poll, #84. What's your favourite multiplayer playlist, ever? I got the idea for this poll when Invasion was brought up during discussion in our Discord server, which you should join if you haven't yet. Invasion. A classic from Halo: Reach which revolutionised Halo matchmaking. It's like the Infection of it's time. Halo was leading the video game industry for many reasons, one of which is it's unique matchmaking playlists it has on offer. Invasion, Infection, Grifball. You catch my drift. Whether it's classic Slayer, larger-scale BTB, or high-adrenaline SWAT, I'm sure many of you have a favourite game mode, what is it? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, Spartan out.

I feel like Halo 5 is missing some serious variety when it comes to Game Modes & Playlists. Where is Grifball, Oddball, Territories, KOTH, Assault, Juggernaut, and of course INFECTION?!? What are your thoughts on this issue? Why would 343 leave out so much from Halo 5? Despite the fact that Bungie already made all those creative game modes and playlists. 343 has full rights to utilize all of Bungie's past work for the Halo franchise, right? So why are so many classic game modes and playlists missing? I made a video on this issue and I believe one of the reasons is that 343 wants to funnel people into Warzone, so they are more likely to purchase Req Packs. Here's the link to the video:

In less than 2 weeks we can finally wrap our hands around Halo 5 but today we get to know what we'll be able to play online the moment we start playing. In a blog 343i has listed what playlists will be available at launch and what maps and gametypes we'll be playing with. Here's the list: Keep in mind that this list contains the launch playlists. More playlists will be added later on! What do you think of these playlists and which playlist would you like to see added later on? Let us know down below! Thank you for reading!

Halo: The Master Chief Collection day one playlists With the Master Chief Collection coming ever so close, and IGN being the first with all the new stuff, we get some clarification on what we're able to do when you get home with your brand new disc. Player count clans and playlists
ll BrEakKouT ll posted a topic in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Ok I posted the player count in gd new to this forum unsure of the hierarchy O.o anyways is there going to be or can there be a player count for the multiplayer and campaigns so we can know what we're dealing with in terms of population and searching?? Also are there going to be clans like there was in halo 2 because there 1,000% should be no doubt with the clan gametype and all. And lastly, are the multiplayers going to be separate and have their respective playlists? (I hope so) Also. The radar should definitely go back to classic and not the sonar...don't say a game will be just how it was and it not be that way..-

This is something that always bothered me about the recent MM update with ranked. But, it's all ranked. Even action sack ( which really doesn't make sense IMO but whatever). The problem with this is it doesn't change the , we'll call it " Mood" of the match. Since there are no social playlists, when people want to mess around in team slayer with say a suppressor, they might be placed with teammates who don't want to lose CSR, and they might be placed against players on the other team who are serious about their rank, and will try their butts off. Thus making running around with a suppressor, not really messing around but just getting owned by tryhards. Of course, this hurts competitive players too. What if you were trying to get your infinity slayer rank to a 40, but then the guy who's running around with a suppressor gets put on your team. What if guys like that are put on your team repetitively? It would be much harder to rank up right? Please comment below if you agree or disagree that there should be social playlists.

Firstly, sorry if this has been posted. Why can't we have a playlist which rotates 10-15 forge maps a week in matchmaking because there is so many good Race/Flood/Slayer maps which I really want to do with other people. I try to play BTB and then invite everyone from that game to my custom game lobby but I only get 2-3 people at best. I don't see why this isn't a playlist. I remember when I first joined a custom game match of Jenga back in Halo 3 and I was mind blown by how fun it was, and I am sure many people of whom have/have not played custom games before will totally enjoy the new playlist that I have suggested. I mean, even if you dislike Halo 4's forge you have to agree that it is a great tool for level building and I feel we need to share these levels to a wider audience by making a playlist for this. Maybe for submission we submit the maps at this website then the lead admins will decide weather or not to implement the map into the playlist. I would love this to happen, but what do you people think?

I'll be brief. Sort of. Infection has been a staple since Halo 2. In Halo 4, it still garners a significant following--around 3,000 players on average. That's a lot of mouths to feed. Some people say it's nothing compared to the 37,000 it had at launch, but the numbers have stayed consistent after the dropout several weeks after the game's release. Right now, my opinion of the Flood playlist is not good. There are only a few maps in circulation; the players have memorized the camping spots, causing predictable rounds; the rounds are incredibly fast and don't have structure. We need an update for Flood. Here are my suggestions: -Set the number of players to 10-12. I'm not sure what it's at right now, but fewer players in each match will make it playable for a variety of game types. Speaking of which... -We need more game types. The current playlist has only the one with Flood shooting across the map with Thruster Packs and humans shooting across the map with Shotguns and Magnums. Have some variety! It's amazing what the community has come up with this time around. There are dozens of game types to change it up: Phagion, Necrosis, even Slenderman. Most people never get to play these awesome creations because it's too much of hassle to set up game nights, or maybe they don't want to play Flood in the first place because it's too monotonous. Speaking of monotonous... -Currently there are only eight maps in rotation for Flood: Solace, Adrift, Complex, Haven, Abandon, Landfall, Daybreak, and Perdition. Of those eight, most will only be able to play on the first five because the last three are DLC. Of those five, only Adrift and Abandon have the right ambiance for the game type. None of these maps is tailored specifically for Flood. Here's where the community comes in: there are dozens of solid Flood maps with outstanding aesthetics and balanced game play. To name a few: Shroom Plague, set above the acid pool on Erosion; Lone Spirit Pass, an excellent holdout-style map set on the beautiful Forge Island; Emerald Mine, a derelict mining colony gone horribly wrong. Other playlists get biweekly updates. Look at Team Throwdown; it's received the most attention out of all the playlists, yet it only attracts 650 players on average, significantly less than Flood. We need an update. Comment what you think, and don't forget to vote. Links: Shroom Plague -- ; Lone Spirit Pass -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKGknnSykvg ; Emerald Mine --

Since this seems like an official site of 343i (apart from waypoint), I thought I would just ask, I know it's the lead up to christmas and all, but what is the news on how the playlists are being affected and when the full playlists will be implemented? I've heard that they will be up in time, but has any sort of a timescale been set to do this? I don't think it's just me who wants to know this, i'm sure other community members are keen to find out when that little bit of something extra in matchmaking is going to be added, making this already awesome game, perfect (popular classic gametypes, map rotation etc.). I also think that there has been a lot of input from the community about this sort of stuff and yeah, it's a great game and I realise it hasn't been out for long, but I can't help but wonder if 343i will take up the role that bungie left with as much enthusiasm towards the concerns of the community as bungie originally did. Anyone hear what i'm saying?

I don't understand why they aren't giving us everything there is to offer, I have so many questions and I'm just hoping someone can answer some of them for me. I am talking about few things here but mainly the matchmaking, I'm not here to complain about it, I'm thoroughly enjoying it, but it is definitely getting repetitive -Matchmaking First problem with the matchmaking is the playlists, why are there so few? Why is there no doubles and what happened to assault? It just makes no sense to me to not have more playlists in there, they have Griffball and Extraction in custom games but not in matchmaking. I guess they could say they want less playlists so there are more players in each one providing more games to find, more people close to you, better connection etc. but we survived in Halo 3, sometimes searching in the early hours of the morning in Assault with less than 100 people in the playlist, but we made it work. I guess this is more of a plea for more playlists, especially doubles (which was in my opinion the best playlist ever), or at the very least an explanation as to why there aren't more. Second, Rank. I know they're working on their ranking system but daaaaaaaaamn, I've been sitting on 70 for aaaaaaages because I couldn't afford to pay extra for early specializations and it grinds my gears that you can reach max level very quickly just by putting lots of time in, too much emphasis has been put on the casual gamers. The amount of XP you get just for seeing out a matchmaking game til the end is ridiculous, sure I don't want people quitting but I don't to sit there pulling out all the stops, getting only up to 3000XP (Seems to be the max) while my AFK teammate gets half that just because he was too lazy to push a few buttons and quit. They NEED to bring the proper rank system out ASAP, I worked ridiculously hard for my 50 in H3 and it took me a long time, where as it took me a couple of weeks to get to 70 and I see other 70's on my team and think "sweet, we should take the other team to the cleaners." But in actuality all they've done is put in the hours and reached 70 without performing well in game at all. Third, Specializations. C'moooooooooon, let me level up more, getting early access to specializations should be rewarded for being a fan no doubt about it, but when I stomp through the noobs getting to 70 quickly and not being able to progress because I didn't front up the extra dollars for early access it pisses me off. Those 12 year old "fans" whose parents bought the most expensive one they could find shouldn't get early to those specializations. Don't tease me 343, "Here's our game enjoy, oh wait, you've been playing quite a lot today, you're not allowed any more XP today how about that?" "Oh you've reached level 70 already, great job but you can't go any further because only fans get the early specializations and you clearly not a fan because you didn't pay us enough." Fourth, "Challenges" Challenges are meant to be just that, a challenge. "Complete 4 matchmaking games" They already give out to much XP for completing matches then they put out a challenge that gives out more XP just for playing 4 games. These challenges are just like the ranking system, rewarding people just for putting in time, you will always get the daily and weekly challenges just by playing. Challenges should be difficult, you should have to strive to get them with every possibly that would might not get the daily challenge today because you're just not good enough. -Moooooooving on to something else, Fileshare. This one just baffles me, why can't we see everyone's fileshares yet? That's all I have to say about that one... I guess that's all I have to say for now, apologies if it seems like I'm having a bit of a rant. I was huge fan of Halo 3 and I love Halo 4 but I feel like they could be doing a lot more for fans and they could cater more towards better players instead of the casual gamer.

Hey there, I don't know if 343 regularly checks these forums but I'm trying to give constructive feedback for them because I think they did a great job on Halo 4 but it could be even better. -The Meta Game: Currently there isn't that much of a reason to replay Spartan Ops after doing Legendary other than commendations. If you added the ability to turn on the Meta game in Spartan Ops and Campaign, and also added a leaderboard, this would create more of a buzz around Spartan Ops and we could compete for high scores. -Spartan Ops Special Episodes: I was thinking that maybe you could incorporate Red vs Blue into Spartan Ops for special episodes/seasons (like a Christmas special) where players play as new recruits into Blue and Red team, having a unique mission to complete and are instructed by Caboose and Church etc. Here is an example of a mission they could do - There is a giant Grunt that is filled with too much methane gas and the Prometheans are trying to kill it because it shouldn't be there, worst of all Serge just bought a brand new Mantis and if the Grunt blows up the Mantis' wax finish will be ruined, so highjinks ensue. You could string these specials together to create a bonus mini series within Spartan Ops. -TrueSkill Ranks: I heard you guys are implementing TrueSkill, please have them be based on wins/losses, kills/deaths and bring back hit ratio's which could also contribute to rank progression. Have them be symbols not numbers, and display them next to the player's SR number rank. -Clan Support: You could have a Clan section in the roster menu, where you can start a clan, accept/decline clan invites, send out invitations and there could be a Clan Kudos system where the clan gains Kudos for playing in a full party of clan members or completing daily/weekly/monthly clan challenges. -Playlist Refinement: At the moment there too many playlists and no variety within each one. Create a 'Team Objective' playlist combining King of the Hill, CTF, Dominion and Oddball. You could also bring back game varients for each, such as One Flag. -DMR: Slightly lower the fire rate. Currently it's a bit OP. I would really love 343 to make these additions. I think old and new players would aswell. Please respond to this topic 343 and/or forum moderators so I know that topics like this are actually read and worth doing.
-
It makes it feel kind of slow how they just have 1 gametype for each playlist. They should combine all the team objective playlists together, and add different gametypes for everything. eg. One Flag.
-
There are a couple playlists that need to be incorperated in Halo 4 such as "Team Snipers". I hope that I am not the only one that thinks so, comment and share this to bring this issue to 343's attention.
-
So 343 you got Halo 4 out! CONGRATZ!! Now it's time to see what playlists you guys unleash! I just want to recommend the next playlist that be introduced to halo 4: TEAM SNIPERS!! So 343 community if you back this please post your support and make it visible. - From a Halo sniper extremist.

Haven't played Reach since before the TU. I've read about all the changes and I'm completely cool with them all but still have questions that I can't find straight answers to after searching these forums. What's up with the voting? We only have three options now and one of them is "None of the Above?" I hate bouncing back and fourth between TU and Vanilla. I play mainly TS, but sometimes TU is voted against. Am I missing something? Can the anniverary maps be played with bloom and TU? Does the TU apply to invasion? Will it be like this forever? I feel like now there's not a community of Reach players, but instead many subcommunities of Reach (What version of Reach do you play?). We're becoming more and more segmented. I appreciate all your help!
-
Ok my fist topic that i want to touch on is ranks. I think that in halo 4 there should be the halo 3 ranking system so that you get matched up with players based on your skill. In halo 3 ranks actually mattered and people cared about their ranks so they would try every game. One example for why halo 4 needs ranks is because... well, say a player who plays a lot is an inheritor but got there by playing firefight and grifball goes into the mlg playlist he is going to get destroyed! Unless there are h3 ranks! Also, there a lot of community forgers out there (I personally am a community forger) so they should get there own playlist in matchmaking, and this how it would work. A player makes a map and uploads it to this website (or bungie.net or whatever website will be related with h4) where it can be downloaded. Then it will be tested by anyone who plays halo 4. Then based on the rating of the map and how many people like it, it can then be put in the community playlist. These are just a couple of suggestions for halo 4 and hope someone reads this because this would take halo to the next level! Also in forge it would be amazing if you could change landscapes and release new forge worlds in DLC map packs. One more thing, allow forgers to change the color of forge pieces. Most halo reach maps are dull, grey and boring
-
So, since I got the Anniversary maps, I've been busy forging on a couple of them. Anyone know if there is a way yet to submit community made maps for the Anniversary playlists? Because I've already seen quite a few community created maps already up in the Anniversary playlists. Anyone know how people are submitting their maps for the playlists? Have there been like, contests or something? Or is there an thread or site where you can submit your map for review and consideration? And I'm not talking about the community maps submissions that used to happen on Bungie, I'm talking about 343.
