Hello fellow Halo fans, I'm getting banned by the loss of my connection to the server, when nothing seems to be wrong with my internet connection after having had contact with my internet provider. Because I never had with any other games, issues like this, it seems unlikely to me its my internet, it's an open NAT-type (See video please). This problem will find themselves virtually almost always after a played match and therefore I must sometimes wait inbetween matches for a period of time because I am afraid to be banned again. (not sure if that helped) It is therefore unfortunate that halo 5 can not distinguish between dropping out of the match or connection loss. The ban is becoming longer and longer and am afraid for my xbox live reputation / account. I've recently also got myself banned because of ending a campaign mission, how is that even possible? (see here: campaign ban) I've been posting and calling around everywhere, but get little to no help. I need help with this issue and I do not mean the xbox live support help page that makes me none the wiser. Let's hope this problem will get more attention when it gets around. Thanks in advance. Sincerely, JxGlenn Video Link 1 Video Link 2

This nifty little thread is intended to help keep you from bans in Halo: Reach. I can only list a few things that will get you banned. If you know of more, post them and I will update the list. I intend to have a full list here on hand to help others avoid bans. AND to keep the would be boosters away from boosting. So far, what is known that can get you any type of ban is: -Being AFK for too long. Usually they will return you to the lobby, but sometimes this results in a Credit Ban. -Spawn Killing another AFK team or spawn trapping, etc. This is serious, the Banhammer can detect spawn killing on AFK players, but forcing others to be spawn killed in CTF, etc sometimes can not. 343 will eventually catch up and will consider it a serious offense when they do. Even a first offense can result in a bad Credit Ban or even worse, such as your account being banned from XboxLive. -Using aimbots and other external utilities to amplify your game is very serious. Even if stealth-patched, they can still Credit-Ban or Matchmaking Ban the account if it is obvious within a theater video that one is being used. Contact would have to be established first to report it, which is unlikely. If not stealth-patched you may get a banned XBOX. -Unplugging your ethernet cord as you earn a challenge to repeatedly earn it will also result in either a Credit Ban, or a Credit Reset. 343 will catch you. -Manipulating the network or lag-switching can be caught as well, unless you have illegally stealth-patched your XBOX. This can result in punishments such as a fine or a full-out XBOX ban. Meaning your XBOX is banned. -Quitting or betraying too much can get you a temporary Matchmaking Ban. So far, that is all I can remember right now. I'm sure there are more that I forgot or haven't learned of yet. That is the purpose of this thread. Post any more that you know of and I will update the list. And you will get a free like. Contributions so far by: Mr. Payne Victory Element The Director

Look I love Halo, Im excited for Halo 4 to come out, but honestly, with Reach, there are some serious issues regarding the quitting/booting/banning system that I think need to be addressed if I am to buy this game. Look, I get that quitting and team killers ruin games, but at the same time, nothing is more infuriating then being in a BTB game and in one way or another, accidentlally running over a teammate or blowing them up with a grenade or rocket in a hectic moment (let's be honest it happens to the best of us) and then getting booted for it and having to wait 10 minutes to re-enter. Another thing that is annoying is when half of the people in a game will quit halfway through, and I'm stuck waiting in the game because if I quit, its a ten minute wait. I guess what I'm saying is that we need a more sophisticated system this time around. One that recognizes accidents and doesn't allow some ******* to boot you because he jumped in front of your ghost. Maybe something where if you have any contact with an opposing player going on in the last ten or so seconds, if you happen to kill a teammate, oh well. (And while we're at it, hopefully it WILL be able to tell when someone is blatantly killing you to steal your sniper, and ALWAYS lets you boot them, that's equally annoying) And then if X% of players already quit from a game, then everyone else can also quit with no penalty. Those 2 things alone would've made me like Reach so much better, and if they aren't addressed in someway, I won't be buying Halo 4, so like the topic says, I'm gonna need some answers.
