It would be tremendously helpful and will probably be added in an update. Hope you all enjoy this map as much as I did! Map History When a friend of mine came to me and said “I have a cool idea for a halo wars game”, I was instantly down for it. This was originally going to be a Halo Wars 2 minigame (may be made in the later updates known as Blitz). I started making a large terrain set that could be big enough to simulate a Halo Wars match (which is very large). As we got into working out the game aspects, we soon realized that a game like this probably wouldn’t work well and would be a little too ambitious, so we decided to scrap the idea. By then I had already built a large amount of the map and didn’t want to see it wasted. I said I would try to make something else out of it on my own, and that I did. I didn’t want this to be just another Big Team map so I thought of a few gamemodes to make specifically for this map. Halo 4 was my first Halo game I played, so I decided to bring back Heavies and Extraction. I made the current map smaller, which gave me more budget room to add aesthetics and features. The map was very budget tight, but when it was done, it looked fantastic. I set up the other gamemodes, as well as made 2 weapon and vehicle sets (one for flag and ball gametypes, one for heavy gametypes), but making Extraction was a challenge. I first only made 3 extract sites and had 2 active at a time. I knew I would have tons of bugs and problems, so I started playtesting. I hosted 1 or 2 playtesting sessions a week. I had tons of scripting bugs to fix, as well as some map issues like not enough cover, spawn killing, map layout, and other things like that. I found Extraction to get rather stale, so I decided to make it more like the original, having 5 sites rather than 3 and making them change from 2 to 1 being active at a time. After I fixed that, I released the map, which is what your reading now. Gameplay Design Each team has a base they first spawn in which looks like the base in blitz (in heavies, the base has a shield that keeps the other team from passing through). In each of these home bases is a warthog, rockethog, gungoose, and mantis (in heavies, the gungoose is replaced with a scorpion and a wasp). The map is made around 3 hills (which are supposed to represent the 3 control points in blitz games). Each team has a hill close to the spawn base, and one hill to the side of the map in the middle. This center hill is important for teams to control, as it has a large height advantage to overlook the rest of the map. Around these hills are remnants of a crashed UNSC Heavy Frigate, which creates new smaller areas for players to engage in. There are many weapons throughout the map, and power weapons consist of a railgun, binary rifle, and spnkr rocket launcher. In heavies, there are Spartan lasers, incineration cannons, hunter arms, and spnkr Ems. For gameplay, I wanted the player to feel like how a Spartan II should in Halo Wars and I wanted the map to be a big battlefield that makes the player feel small, but still significant. When I first made the map, It was very big, even a little too big for what I later intended. So I shrunk the map, added more cover, and more wreckage for the player to interact with. Players can’t run around from corner to corner of the map quickly which makes it more important for you to strategies where you want to go and how you want to engage before you run into battle. This works very well when working as a team, deciding together when to make pushes for power positions, defending tactics, and flanking routes, making it feel similar to a Halo Wars match. The vehicles on the map are very important to control as well, as some of them can turn the tide of battle. The vehicles are balanced with a rock terrain system on the ground. Spartans have no trouble climbing over the rock, small vehicles like warthogs can go through it if they have a skilled driver, and large vehicles like scorpions have a tough time going over and sometimes have to find another path. This keeps vehicles from being too overpowered on the map, which they would be on battlefields like this otherwise Aesthetic Design For the aesthetic design of the map, obviously I wanted a good Halo Wars 2 theme since the game was about to come out when I started the map. I wanted to make a nice natural looking environment full of rock, trees, and I made that to start. Then I “crash landed” the Heavy Frigate ship prefab onto the map and warped the terrain accordingly, which included making sinkholes in the ground where ship parts sit, knocking down trees, and lighting things on fire. Then I included some Banished aesthetics, like a banished locus and banished banshees created by Oni777777 (might have miscounted the sevens). I set the banished banshees on joint barrels to make them fly in a circle around they sky, but this caused a lot of framerate drops and performance issues, so they had to be removed. I also considered leaving them static in the sky, but figured it would break the immersion in the map, which was top of my priority list. I also made halo wars 2 blitz bases and hills on the map, using the hills as stronghold points in the strongholds gamemode. The map is set in the barrens map and uses the barrens rock with the alpine terrain, which I thought looks most like Halo Wars 2. The skybox is a crimson colour which fits with the battlefield style of the map. I also added a light smoky fog to the map which is thick enough to make seeing at a long distance a little harder but thin enough to see through well in most areas. Unique Map Features Random Weapon Generator On each hill is a random weapon generator plate. The plate spawns 2 weapons from a pool of 8 possibilities every 20 seconds. The weapons despawn every 20 seconds if untouched, so there will never be more than 2 weapons to choose from at a time. On hills Alpha and Charley (red and blue sides), the weapon pool consists of 8 DMRs each with a different attachment or scope. On hill Bravo, the pool is made of SMGs. Weapon/Vehicle sets The main gamemode for this map will of course be heavies, but I wanted a second weapon and vehicle set for other gamemodes. I found that the heavies weapon and vehicle set was a little too much for flag and ball gamemodes, as it made players less focused on the objectives and more on killing enemies. This is done by making 2 vehicles phased into each other and set the labels to different gamemodes. Then they are scripted to on match start: set physics normal. These special features along with other map features will be available to download as a prefab after release in a later update

Paintball style battlefield that works very well with BTB game modes. This map is located inside the Glacier cave. This is being submitted to the MYM BTB contest There are a lot of varying streets that keep the battle different throughout the map, and many buildings to utilize for combat and quick movement across the battlefield. It has good symmetry because I used a very precise method to make it perfectly symmetrical! I worked just over a week adjusting things to my preference. I was focusing on vehicle smoothness in the terrain at first, then I worked hard on making good sight lines to balance vehicle/spartan combat. This is my first contest entry and I'll be working hard to improve for the next contest!

Details for the next Battlefield title have been found! The next Battlefield title will likely be called Hardline. This is according to a mistake in the Battlelog update. The title will be a spinoff with a Cops and Robbers theme and will be developed my Visceral Games (known from the Dead Space series). The details that have been found include the logo and a piece of artwork. It also includes icons for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC. So don't worry current gen console holders, no need to part ways from your old and trusty console . These details were spotted on the servers of EA of which they have now been removed. But not before the Interwebz got hold of it. There were also some details on the classes. The classes will be called The Enforcer, The Mechanic, The Operator and The Professional. And some details on gametypes. Which will be called Blood Money, Carrier Assault and Bomb Squad. Besides from that there has been a reference to an unknown map and a picture of a welcoming screen for the participants of the Beta. The Twitter account of Battlefield Daily has also found some interesting images showing medals and equipment. Here they are: These images highly suggest that the next setting will indeed be Cops and Robbers. (Although I've never seen police use a crossbow...) EA has not confirmed this to be legit. So I guess it will once again all come down to E3! Since Battlefield is mostly known a FPS shooter being set in war, do you think this new Cops and Robbers setting will do any good? As always leave comments down below! Thank you for reading! Source: http://nl.ign.com/news/9294/eerste-details-nieuwe-battlefield-gevonden Our little loaf of bread has found a video from LvLCap that breaks down a good amount of details as well. Be sure to check it out!

Battlefield Hardline's Launch Maps and Modes Revealed!
VinWarrior posted a article in Other Articles
The upcoming Battlefield spin-off, Battlefield Hardline, is getting the full treatment with new maps and modes, all revealed now! Battlefield Hardline looks to be packed to the brim with content, while it might not all be working content at launch (let's hope it works) it still looks quite fun. On battlefield's website, Battlefield.com, new images and descriptions were given to the game's 9 launch maps, compared to Battlefield 4's 10 launch maps, and the previous entries all being 9 as well. The new maps are, Downtown, Bank Job, The Block, Dust Bowl, Hollywood Heist, Growhouse, Riptide, Everglades, and Derailed. To top all this off, the game will ship with 5 different modes, the newest one being Crosshair. The other modes are Hotwire Mode, Heist, Rescue, and Blood Money. Crosshair will follow a 5 v 5 gameplay trying to keep VIPs alive for as long as possible while trying to eliminate all of the opposing team as quickly as possible. The maps will range from medium to small and will feature the past game's levolution. The game launches March 17th, 2015 with all this content for PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as the PC. View attachment: battlefield_hardline.jpg I must admit, even though Hardline doesn't look to do much to identify itself as a Battlefield game, it has some nice graphics and an overall interesting tone to it, nothing like I've seen outside of Counter-Strike. I'm not pre-ordering after the travesty that was Battlefield 4's launch, but Hardline is sticking on my radar. What about you, what do you think of Hardline so far? Do the maps and modes impress you? Let me know down below, thanks for reading folks!- 3 comments

The new Battlefield: Hardline trailer reveals the release date After lasts week 'leak' Visceral games has now released a trailer which pretty much confirms all rumours. The setting is made pretty clear and the Police theme that was rumoured (and was pretty much bound to be true) is now confirmed. The trailer can be seen down here: The trailer not only shows what to expect but the release date as well which will be the 21st of October and will be released on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC What surprises me is that last gen is being used in the development and it releases the 21st of October already. Do you think the game will be held back by this? Let me know down below! Thank you for reading! Source: http://nl.ign.com/news/9425/battlefield-hardline-e3-trailer-toont-releasedatum

In comparison to past Battlefield games, I think it's different, but as a FPS game, it's pretty cool because you kill people and can get in vehicles to travel. Graphics could get better, but t they can fix that.

DICE has publicly announced that they are delaying a long needed patch on the Xbox One, for their hit game Battlefield 4. Battlefield 4's initial launch wasn't the most seamless, and with a history of bad releases behind them, EA needed to step up their game and fix the broken launch as soon as possible, employing DICE to do the work. Today DICE has announced on Battlefield.com that an update previously coming to Xbox One on March 25th would be pushed back to an unconfirmed later date. Whether this is a few days, a week, or a month, we're not certain. View attachment: battlefield-4.jpg Since the update was released on other platforms, it was apparently supposed to fix stability and crashing, two major issues harped upon by critics and players, and adjust weapons and unlocks in-game. Considering no more information is available on what specifically the Xbox One update had in store, or when it will be released, we are still stuck in the dark as to whether the update will even see the light for some time. View attachment: BF4.jpg This is bad news for public reception if the past with EA has shown anything, so with this what do you think of the push? Was it a good idea to get it in full shape, or do you think that the game is in dire need of a fix now, and that pushing it back was a poor move? Comment below and let me know!

With all things Destiny settling down a bit I turn my head towards a next thing I'm excited about, an all new DLC for Battlefield 4. The new DLC called Final Stand has been revealed with a trailer yesterday and shows a lot of new stuff to do. The trailer can be seen down here: The DLC will be focussed around infantry warfare but with a twist. This DLC will be set in something pre Battlefield 2142. The map pack consisting out of 4 different maps will hold vehicles and weapons that resemble prototypes of the weapons and vehicles in Battlefield 2142. You can get yourself a hover tank which does exactly as you imagine, get your hands on a Railgun which can absolutely annihilate infantry and vehicles, race and jump around on snowy mountain tops with a snowmobile or find and deploy a drone holding a minigun to harass your foe's. Tons of fun I'd say This DLC is already able to be checked out in the Community Test Environment (CTE) for Premium players on the PC as a beta version of the DLC can be played there now. These players can play one map each day, but hurry as there are not that much player slots open. Will you give this DLC some time after being done with Destiny? Let us know down below! Thank you for reading! Source: nl.ign

Battlefield 4: The 4th floor??? So here I was playing Battlefield 4 with my buddy Coldfreeze when I noticed this: Wierd looking Dog tag am I right? The first thing you'll notice is the QR code on the tag. Scanning this QR code will redirect you to your emblem customization on the battlelog site for some reason. People say this will unlock the dog tag for you, although I'm not sure about that since I did bugger all and got it. Onto the next part you'll notice serial numbers at the bottom. Now applying some "/" between the numbers will give you dates. The first of which is 2013/10/29 which is the release date of Battlefield 4. The second date is 2142/06/12 which is a date we'll probably never see, but what is interesting is 2142... Battlefield: 2142... A title a lot of people have been asking for! Teaser maybe? Or something to do with the Phantom Project? I don't know, do you? Anyway, moving on to the blacked out name (which is still totally readable) is the name Kevin Simpson. Now googling this got me to this video which will possibly explain something: What do you thing of this? Let us know!

As a result of the beta Battlefield: Hardline gets 10 fixes Although Battlefield: Hardline hits the stores this October, Visceral games is not entirely done with the game. As a result of the Battlefield: Hardline beta the game is getting 10 major fixes before it hits the shelves. In a blog Visceral has listed these changes and claimed they will implement these as soon as possible. This means they have truly been listening to the feedback they got from beta testers. Here are the ten changes: 1. Frequency of explosions reduced Although we all love explosions they kind off got the overhand in the game. So Visceral decided to reduce the amount of available explosives to get the focus back to the core gameplay. (Battlefield should get this fix too) 2. The Mechanic re-invention The only use for the Mechanic was taking down vehicles. And since that's not a huge part of the game the class was considered mostly useless. That's why the Mechanic is getting a buff. They also want to rename the class. EA is open to suggestions so go wild! 3.The in-game HUD overhaul Visceral wants the in-game HUD to look less like the one from Battlefield 4. They also want more clearly visible objectives. 4. Tinkering with the character customization screen The character customization was considered to be a little chaotic. This will be made much clearer on the eventual release. 5. Deeper and more interactive worlds Battlefield 4 is known for the interactiveness and levolution. Visceral wants to improve this in Battlefield: Hardline. They will do this by adding much more interactive objects in the game. Examples are lockers, doors and radio's. It's the little things in life the matter 6. Longer round durations A huge request by the fanbase was that the rounds were a bit on the short end. So Visceral will increase the round duration without letting it get boring. 7. Increase in health for vehicles After one clip of an assault rifle a vehicle would already have caught fire in the beta. Visceral will increase the health of the vehicles so that they won't feel like being made out of paper mache. 8. Audio tweaks Visceral is making your ears a viable asset so you will get the upper hand if you use them. Unless your enemy is doing the same thing. 9. Med kits and Ammo crates no longer block revives In the beta, medics were unable to revive a downed teammate if there was a med kit or an ammo crate in the way. This will be fixed. 10. Interrogation tweaks Visceral wanted to tweak the interrogation option a bit before the eventual release. From now on interrogating an enemy will only reveal enemy players in a certain radius. Making it less powerful, but still useful. October is still some time away so implementing these fixes shouldn't really be a problem. There will also be a second beta which may reveal some more glitches and bugs. Are you going to play this second beta? Let me know down below! Thank you for reading! Source

DICE has listened, but doesn't know how to deliver it.
Eqwinoxe posted a topic in General Discussion
What do you guys think about this, and possibly why do you (people that have played Bad Company) want back from the old Bad Company? What would YOU like to see? Eurogame sat down with DICE to discuss a possibility that Battlefield: Bad Company 3 will come into effect, possibly making the best decision in their whole damn company. This is the conversation that Eurogamer and CEO Karl-Magnus Troedsson had, discussing how they "don't know how to deliver it": --------------------- Concerning a new Bad Company installment, it’s not a matter of DICE ignoring their fanbase, they’re just unsure what made Bad Company so popular, CEO Karl-Magnus Troedsson explained in a recent interview with Eurogamer. “Some people say they found the multiplayer controls faster and more direct,” Troedsson told Eurogamer. “Some people liked the single-player and the characters and the humor. People love different things about it. It’s starting to almost get to that place where, if we were to make a sequel to Bad Company, what would than even imply? “It’s scary to go back and try to remake an old fan favorite when actually no-one can really put their finger on what it is people love. Bringing back the characters and creating a great single-player out of that, sure, I can understand that. “But some people say this: the Bad Company 2 multiplayer is the best you’ve ever done. Okay, why is that? It’s hard for people to articulate what that is, which is actually hard for us. It would be hard to remake something like that. Can we do it? Of course. We have our theories when it comes to the multiplayer.” It sounds to me—and you can call my crazy here, Karl—that both the single-player and multiplayer were so good that the Bad Company games offered different things to a multitude of players. Maybe the reason you can’t put your finger on what made it great and people keep giving you different answers is that you appealed to such a wide audience, for once, that a lot of different people found something to love. Definitely not something that can be said for Battlefield 3 or 4. Troedsson closed by offering Bad Company fans the faintest glimmer of hope, saying the sub-brand is not dead and it can be revived—unless it’s suddenly revealed that Preston, Sweetwater, Haggard, and Sarge have suddenly become the funniest boys in blue since Steve Gutenberg and gang in Police Academy—but those fans will definitely have to wait at least a little while longer. ---------------------- Source: http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/ea-dice-knows-fans-want-more-bad-company-not-sure-how-to-deliver-it/ *I KNOW THIS IS A DIRECT COPY! I DID TO FOR YOU GUYS SO YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO GO TO THE SITE!* Your Welcome- 3 replies

Battlefield: Hardline second beta coming up With the first Battlefield: Hardline beta for the PS4 and PC coming to a close Visceral Games announces that the second beta, which will be available to all platforms, will be coming in autumn. Which is just before the actual release date in October. What makes this beta entirely different is of course updates to the game mechanics and new game modes to play. Which means more stuff to test and explore. Executive Producer Steve Papoutsis also blogged something on the battlefield-blog about the campaign. The way the campaign is presented is going to be different from the way we're used to. It's supposed to look similair to watching a television series. "It will be something completely different." They've also stated that a lot of fan-favourites will make a return and a larger variety in maps will be available, from underground laboratories to the streets of Miami. One thing people did note is that the developers claim a lot of work still has to be done. Is this a slight hint towards a delayed release? For now the release date still stands somewhere in October, but don't be surprised to see it being delayed. Have you already signed up for the beta and will you be playing it? Let me know down below! Thank you for reading! Source

First off here's the link to try and get into the BETA http://www.battlefield.com/hardline/beta And does anyone think its worth paying for, what pros and cons do you see because I say at the moment its worth the minimum price but lots of people on YouTube say otherwise, pros and cons for me: Pros: the cops and robbers aspect is very fun and the police gear is up to scratch, the skins are neat and tidy and its overly what I would pay for. Cons: its just plain old battlefield in some games the only difference is the skins on the characters and the vehicles, the AKM at the moment is very OP for a low price in game cash and its power should definitely be at a higher price, in the BETA at the moment the grappling hook is broken so don't buy it and finally the sirens are way too squeaky I know its in BETA but I think thats how they're staying. So what do you think ?

The newly announced Visceral Games project Battlefield: Hardline, has had a detailed trailer leaked to the web showing off some new features in the game. Battlefield: Hardline has had the gaming community buzzing since it's announcement several days ago by Steve Papoutsis, the company VP and general manager, and today in typical fashion we have received a leaked trailer. Polygon.com, the only ones with an intact trailer after Electronic Arts took down the original video and any copies, posted the trailer which showed off the game's fresh new style of a Cops and Robbers scenario. They showed off the campaign, taking place in Omaha as you take on the role of a detective hunting down criminals and stopping heists. They also showed off new multiplayer modes like Rescue, in which you try to rescue hostages, pretty straightforward, and Heist, in which you either commit a heist or try to stop it. It's all very exciting, and will launch supposedly this fall on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. View attachment: Omaha.png Are you excited for Battlefield: Hardline with it's new dramatic theme and interesting and fresh modes, or will it take some more convincing for you to drop down into the Battlefield? After a ton of leaks surfaced online yesterday, the devs took things into their own hands and decided to officially announce the next title in the Battlefield franchise - Battlefield Hardline. According to the announcement posted on the Battlefield Blog, the game is being developed by Visceral Games, not DICE. In addition to that, the game, which is said to be the first title in "a brand new series in the Battlefield franchise," will focus on the war on crime (cops vs. robbers). Visceral Games general manager Steve Papoutsis had the following to say about how Hardlines came to fruition: "Several years ago, I was at an internal EA meeting in Barcelona with creative leaders from across the company. It was here I met Karl Magnus Troedsson, the GM of DICE, for the first time, and we immediately began talking about games. I’ve always loved Battlefield and KM was a huge fan of Dead Space, so we started talking about different ways we could work together, different ways we could take Battlefield and action games in a new direction. And from that point, the project that would become Battlefield Hardline was born." He went on to state that more will be revealed at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (obviously), during which gamers will be told more about "the ways we are adding new twists and turns to the foundation of Battlefield multiplayer, more about how we’re bringing our strengths at Visceral to single player." On another note, a lot of leaks on the contents of the game have already begun to surface. One of the many videos ib the leaked weapons, gadgets, and ranking system can be viewed below (it appears the game will be using a prestige system similar to that which is used in the Call of Duty franchise...). So what do my fellow Battlefielders think about Battlefield Hardline? Is it too soon for another Battlefield game to be released? Is Battlefield starting to become the next Call of Duty? Let me know! View full article

I don't see a lot of topics on Invasion anymore. I was actually upset when i found out that it'd be absent in Halo 4, but either way, do you think invasion will make a return in Halo 5 ? Personally, i really liked it. That was the only game mode i played with the exception of Big team Battle and Team Slayer. But, the only thing Halo 4 did that somewhat resembled Invasion was create Dominion and i still felt as if it wasn't enough, but i took what i could get, and now, it's gone, i can't even play that, hah. Being big on Battlefield, i really grow bored of a game if i don't exactly have an objective. In fact, now that i think of it, Invasion was like Battlefield's RUSH game mode. But, that's besides the point. Anywho, do you guys think invasion would make a return in Halo 5 ?
