Hey guys; I've been a competitive Halo 3 die hard fan ever since I was a jit and now I'm 20. I haven't played halo since Reach. The game was okay, I stopped playing when I became a general or something. I lost the eagerness of trying to rank up because it didn't matter wether or won or lost I still rose in EXP. I saw halo 4 over some gameplay and thought it looked horrible. A lot of the aspects of the multiplayer didn't make sense to me from the variety of weapons on the map and random weapon drops to how the maps were constructed. But that's my personal opinion and a lot of people I know agreed with me as well as some people I read reviews over online. The online multiplayer was almost entirely unbalanced and just watching the gameplay hurted my eyes. Halo 4 isn't Halo, it's a completely different game. More or less a bad reboot of a Halo title. What keeps real Halo players playing after finishing the campaign is the multiplayer, everyone knows this. If the multiplayer is phenomanol for example: Halo 3 and Halo 2 then you'll gain a tremendous loyal customer fan base playing for years on end, waiting for the next sequel of the game to be mentioned. I sometimes have the urge to play Halo 3 but I'm busy studying most of the time for my next exam. I truly for the love of God don't want to see another grand disappointment from Industry 343 again in another Halo game; So here I am trying to make an attempt to reach out to the developers of Halo 5 in maybe making a difference in how the developers might change a few things. And I'm a point out some suggestions for you guys First off : 1. I don't need a 'guy' shouting in my ear piece about kill streaks and wether or not I get a double kill or a triple kill. Take the kill streak guy talking down a notch, it'll quickly get annoying for me and as well as other players. On top of that the 'Guy' doesn't have to narrate about the gameplay, "4 against 1", "3 against 1", like shut up lol I wish there was an option to shut him up. And the 'Guy' doesn't have to narrate of which game mode I'm about to play, I'm pretty sure I know what game mode I'm about to play when I choose from the option menu in multiplayer. Another thing too the 'Guy' mentions when and where the power weapons respawn again for Ex: Sniper, Sword, Rocket Launcher. I remember back in my day we had to memorize how long it took the power weapons to respawn. From my perspective the 'Guy' talking sucks the seriousness out of the game and brings the difficulty level down a lot. He talks a lot during gameplay it feels like he's always saying something It doesn't feel like I'm playing halo, you guys are trying too hard to make the game "cool", yeah it'll probably appeal to younger gamers but for older gamers that have played the previous games from Bungie, we don't like that. Haha. Make it an option wether or not we want more voice interaction from the game. 2. Did I see a deathcam in the beta? That has to go. This is not COD. This will ruin an old strategy everyone knows called "camping". Trust me, when I got a good camping spot with my sniper I don't want any enemy player knowing where I am. 3. The animations are cool and all but can they be a little quicker or can you just vanquish them all. I remember when I was playing Reach in a competitive game it'd take a whole millennium assassinating someone. When in Halo 3 it just took a little tap in the back to kill someone, and that kept the competitive flow of my game undisrupted and didn't leave me exposed to another enemy player since I can't do anything during the animation. 4. The game looks too easy with the jet-packs. You don't have to break a sweat trying to jump on a ledge, the jet packs do all the work for you. I remember in halo 3 that you'd have to find ways to get to those sweet secret spots and it took a skill to jump onto far away platforms not everyone could accomplish so easily. You built up that skill and make it into one of your tricks and that inhanced your competitive edge against other players who don't know the move. To be honest, that factor was one of the best things about playing halo 3 online. Maneuverability looks far too easy and can make the game sort of boring. Make the jet pack an option in one of the game modes. Like lets say Hardcore mode or Classic mode. 5. I didn't play the game my self so I can't say much else. I saw one other thing too; the stomping ability when you're in mid air and you can kill your foes underneath you is obviously taken from COD advance warfare. That has to be taken out or put as an option for a multiplayer match. You can easily just fly around stomping everyone you see in sight and them not knowing you're there. ________And that's it guys thanks for investing your time to read this I know it's kinda long but I had to say what was on my mind and I would like to see a difference in the new installment of the game. I care and I know a lot of my suggestions where opinionated remarks so don't critise me for speaking out I apprecaite it. I just signed up but I'm sure there's a lot of Bungie forum individuals here. The new Halo community shows promise trust me. You're company has great potential, hear us out and maybe we can make a great game together soon.

Things I would like to see in future titles that can actually BE DONE with the Halo engine (terrain editors and cutting pieces wouldn't work): Precision editing returning: 'Nuf said. Interchangable palettes: Give us an option in the menu of which palette we would like to work with. In Halo 4 context, when you hit X, you'll see "Impact, Erosion, Ravine." Selecting one of these will lead you to the normal item menu, except eveything in there will have the skins of the selected palette. And not only three palettes from three maps. There are multiple themes we could use: Human Civilian, Human Slums, Human Military, Covenant, Forerunner, stone, etc. Weather Effects/ Time of day Effects: Easy to understand. In the gadgets menu, have a "Weather" menu. This will be similar to the visual filters. You place an orb on the map that will change the time of day and weather. Examples: Morning, Noon, Sunset, Night, Rain, Lightning Storm, Snow, Blizzard, Windy, Dusty, Light Rain, Cloudy. Environment Pieces: Also simple. Give us pieces that can change the environment around us. Trees, more rocks, shrubs, and terrain editing pieces. This wouldn't be a terrain editor exactly. Think of it like this: People already use rocks and tin cups to change the environment. Expand upon this idea, and give us smooth pieces with terrain skins of varying shapes and sizes to create smooth flat ground, or create rolling hills. They will still be made of individual pieces that can be placed on the existing terrain. Bulk pieces: We're almost there already with Coliseum Walls and the silo pieces on Impact. Give us large pieces with a low polygon count that can be used to create large environments at little cost on the engine. Large coliseum walls, entire ground structures (like the environment pieces), giant pillars, bigger ramps, that sort of thing. Better coordinates and rotational points: Think back to Reach. If you lined up a piece inside of anothe of the same dimensions and rotated it, it would still be inside the dimensions. This has been changed on some pieces in Halo 4, like the ramp 2X2 and corner 4X4. If you line them up then rotate them, they are off center. 343 needs to find the EXACT center of the pieces to set a rotation point. HOWEVER, they should not do this on pieces that are not an exact coordinate, like the 1X1 Tall and Thin and the Coliseum Wall. More on that here: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/27355-colliseum-wall-problems-and-fixes/ More/Better canvases: Duh. Everyone complains about the current canvases. Now, they're not AS bad as everyone is making them out to be, but it would be nice to have some more user friendly canvses. Thank you 343 for listening to us and giving us Forge Island, but please do better with the default maps in the future. We don't want half finished "templates" to finish, but blank canvases to fully utilize. One example that I've talked about a lot is a snow canvas that would use the same texture mapping as the rocks on Ravine. They could make it so the pollar top of every piece that is exposed to the sky has snow on it. Scenery: We're getting closer with the inclusion of Dominion pieces as aesthetics, but there really should be more. Think of some of the maps in Halo 3. The first one that comes to my mind with aesthetic pieces is High Ground. That map had shelves, tables, radios, and laptops lying around. I'd like to see the inclusion of more practical aesthetic pieces like this in future titles. Dynamic Objects: Basically, give us stuff that moves. It's doesn't need to be anything crazy like custom moving pieces, but things like the Station Core on Impact. For example, give us a U shaped metal frame with movable gates attached to either side like in the back of High Ground. Nothing special, just a single piece that isn't stagnant. I'm probably missing some things, but I'll leave it open to you guys. What do you think? I'm trying to think of things they could add in that wouldn't disrupt the current engine or way the game handles. Forge is and always will be a map editor at heart, simply for easy of use. There are still many things that could be improved, and I want to hear if you guys have any ideas that could be implemented SIMPLY and stay true to what Forge is.

Ok first things first, I am a first time poster on this forum, so please let me know if I am doing anything incorrectly. So tonight I went onto Halo 4 to test out the new maps and Infinity rumble playlist, and I noticed that there were only about 40,000 people online at 9:30 EST. This disappoints me, as it seems like every day more and more people are leaving the game, and the community itself. I got to thinking, what is it about Halo 4 that is making these people not want to play, and what could be changed to help to bring them back. My answer to the first question is that the game has branched too far out from what originally made Halo a great FPS, and my answer to the second is as follows: What Needs to Change: 1. A 1-50 TruSkill Ranking system must be implemented 2. Ranked Playlists must be added with the 1-50 ranking system. The playlists I would like to see are: 1. Lone Wolves (6 Player FFA) Gametypes include Slayer, Infinity Slayer, Oddball, and King of the Hill 2. Team Slayer (4v4) Gametypes include Slayer and Infinity Slayer 3. Team Objective (4v4) Gametypes include Capture the Flag, Oddball, Extraction, and King of the Hill 4. Team Swat (4v4) 5. Team Snipers (4v4) 6. Team Doubles (2v2) Gametypes include Slayer, Infinity Slayer, Oddball, and King of the Hill 7. AGL (4v4) Gametypes include AGL Settings Slayer, Capture the Flag, Extraction, Oddball, and King of the Hill 8. Squad Battle (6v6) Gametypes include Slayer, Infinity Slayer, Dominion, Extraction, Capture the Flag 3. Social Playlists need to be distinctly separate from Ranked, with random matchmaking instead of skill based. Social Playlists I would like to see are: 1. Rumble Pit (8 Player FFA) Gametypes include Slayer, Infinity Slayer, Oddball, King of the Hill 2. Social Slayer (5v5) Gametypes include Slayer and Infinity Slayer 3. Social Skirmish (5v5) Gametypes include Capture the Flag, Oddball, Extraction, and King of the Hill 4. Multi-Team (6 Teams of 2) Gametypes include Slayer, Infinity Slayer, Oddball, and King of the Hill 5. Big Team Battle (8v8) Gametypes include Slayer, Infinity Slayer, Dominion, Extraction, Capture the Flag 6. Action Sack (4v4) 7. Grifball (4v4) 8. Flood (6v6) 4. In order for the above playlists to work, Dominion, Regicide, and Infinity Slayer must all become gametypes (as opposed to the playlists they are now) to be voted on with all other gametypes available in each playlist. Only Infinity Slayer would have personal ordnance and instant spawn, all other gametypes would have their normal settings. Join in progress would be enabled for Social, disabled for Ranked. Killcams would be dependent on the playlist settings. Loadouts would be allowed based on the particular playlist settings. 5. No more random weapon spawns. Weapons should spawn how they have in every other Halo, in a particular place on a timer. Making weapon spawns random removed one of the two biggest facets of Halo gameplay, power weapon control. Besides skill itself, weapon control and map control were two of the most important aspects of all Halo games, and I believe it imbalances the game to have random weapon spawns. 6. Remove bloom and recoil. I feel like bloom was a failed experiment in Halo Reach, and it should not have been brought over to Halo 4. There may need to be some changes made to the fire rate of the DMR, Magnum, AR, etc. The BR has recoil, but it is small and almost unnoticeable anyways, so might as well just remove it. No bloom worked fine in MLG, and the previous Halos, with some tweaking it should work fine here as well. 7.Remove flinch, bring back being knocked out of scope. I don't know why they changed this in the first place, but I feel like getting rid of flinch and adding back in being knocked out of scope when shot is the way to go. The game would feel more like Halo I believe. 8. Remove Invisibility as an Armor Ability, make it a powerup like Damage Boost, Speed Boost, and Overshield. Have these placed around the map like in previous Halo titles, able to be picked up by a player. That is pretty much it, everything I think could be changed to help make the game feel more like Halo, less like a mishmash of other stuff. Let me know what you think about it! Mercules

Team Snipers has been an option in every halo. Why would 343 make it rotational? At the credits end, 343 states, Thanks for trusting 343 with Halo. I don't remember having a choice nor am I happy with 343. Campaign was pretty terrible but matchmaking changes are appreciated. However, rotating a favorite playlist like Team snipers is irresponsible. Bring it back and have different variants of No secondary weapon, Alien sniper rifle or pistol. Why is this so hard. Side note: if a company takes over a main title such as Halo, you would think they would preserve as much as possible and change very little in order to keep the fan base. Instead, 343 changed everything but master chief's voice and some of the main weapons. I really do like the matchmaking changes but it would be nice to have advanced the sniper rifle fire, compared to halo 3 instead of keeping it comparible to reach which predates halo 1.

This article was created to try and get our voices heard. If you agree with the article below, please copy and paste it to any website/forum where it can be read by halo fans. The point is to have this article on the internet so much that 343i has to notice it. Halo 4 as it is now Halo 4 has set new boundaries for future Halo games. They have provided us with unique forge features that make forging much more easier then ever before. On top of this they have provided us with two solid campaigns. The master chief's story is both epic, thrilling, and even a little saddening. The new Spartan-Ops mode has replaced firefight over all and set a new playground for co-op fun. Finally, of course, there is the ever beloved matchmaking. Infinity slayer, swat, and griff-ball are returning favorites. However, even with all of these new features, there are still many flaws that need to be considered by 343i before the game is perfect. These are small tweaks that should have been considered before-hand, but, should be considered now before it is too late. Spartan-Ops While the new spartan-ops has met my expectations, providing us with a rich story that flows in perfectly with the main campaign, and giving co-op players a new field for mayhem, it has some flaws of it's own that should be considered perhaps next season or even next game. For starters, while the cut-scene episode that you witness every week is original and brilliant, the actual in game gameplay has no link at all. If you set a person up for Episode 1, Level one and then put them in Episode 3, level 3, they might not even know that you skipped any levels at all. While the game explains why you are there, no connection exists between that level and the others. On top of this, there is nothing unique to these missions. Not once do you ever get sent out to save scientists in one level and in the next level have to do something unique such as passanger warthog filled with scientists as fast as you can towards your evac point, with covenant on your hide the whole time. It is always the same thing. Go in, kill covenant and promethiens, and get out. No epic mammoth driving, no pelican driving, no escape scenes. Just killing enemies. They have even recently decided to just take multiplayer maps and turn them into spartan-ops missions! No, they did not do anything cool like add more to the level, they just took the level itself and added enemies. Matchmaking I absolutely *love* the new matchmaking. It has such great potential. However, this potential was not put to it's full test. Do not get me wrong, i still love it. The ability to have custom loadouts, weapon skins, packages/upgrades and specializations is amazing. However, they have not used this all to it's capability. Let us start from the bottom up. The ability to choose your own loadouts is great, fantastic in fact. This idea alone has no flaw. What does flaw is the options they give you. Out of over 30 weapons in the game, 7 primary weapons and 3 secondary weapons are at your disposal. The other 20 are RARELY used. I have used only about 5-10 of the other weapons because that is all you usually come across. The game should have either had 15 loadout weapons and 15 power weapons, or even gone as far as 20 loadout weapons and 10 power weapons. The fact is, we just do not need that many power weapons. Hell, some of them are just pointless, such as the concussion rifle in this game, in all of it's under-beefed glory. Having so many power weapons gives the game a glossy appearance that it is full of bad ass explosions and fights. Yet, as we all know, this is not the case. Providing players with more loadout weapons means there is more incentive to level up, more action going on throughout the ENTIRE match, and more unique and individual load out systems. If they consider this in future games, it would truly put potential to the test. Yet, even with all this, there is more. Let us talk about something they have the ability to change at any time. Tactical/Support packages. This feature is great and unique to the Halo Franchise. Yet, is there any big benefit to them? Let us all admit, the idea for these came from popular games like COD and BF3. However, it works well in Halo. Yet, in games like COD, the perks are completely game changing. In Halo 4 however, you hardly notice the difference at times. You can sprint infinitely, recharge your shields slightly faster, recharge your AA faster, but it is not that noticable. Even with this not being noticable, it would work well if there were more options. If they refuse to have perks such as increased melee distance, more damage with secondary weapons, having enemy vehicles outlined, or no turret over-heat, they could have still added perks such as faster melee, more damage to vehicles, or less damage from certain genres of weapons. All of these are easy to add to the game through a patch, and game changing. Now, hold on, i am still not done with Matchmaking. There is still the issue of weapon skins and specializations. When i heard of weapon skins and specializations, i got excited. Finally, a game changing benefit that is visible and easy to notice. Yet... i was later disappointed. While specializations ARE game changing and provide us with unique unlocks, it is way to difficult to achieve them. Specializations should have been unlocked at a much lower level (20-30) so that most players could have access to it. Instead, they placed it at level 50. This would be fine except once you get to level 25 and above leveling up becomes a complete chore. If more players had access to specialzations, the gameplay would change for the better. People would be aiding their team more by knowing they can do better and get more points by being a team player and filling their role in their specialization. Instead, there is a distinct line between people who barely can get on to play, and those who have all day. On top of this all, there is weapon skins. Such a unique feature, but there is just not enough of them in the game. One per weapon is not unique at all and ruins the idea of it all together. Just add more to be unlocked in the game or through map packs and players will be pleased. I will post about forge later on.

Dear, 343 Industries, The weapons in multiplayer / matchmaking are completely unbalanced. Every weapon in Halo 4 should be even in damage so that it takes skill to kill another player, not because he/she has a better gun. Some of the weapons are so unbalanced and under powered that you can't even kill anyone with them. I've shot players four times point blank with the scatter gun as well as the shotgun and they would still have their shield up would then turn around and killed me with a DMR. So, 343 Industries, what I am asking of you is will you please review the weapons damage and make them EVEN? Some of the weapons are very weak and under powered. Thank you so much for your time. <3

Why are the elites being stupid? Master Chief is 7ft Elites are 8ft, you don't need to jump to get on the back of the Elites, in Halo: Reach the 'Spartan 3's' are shorter because they are human Spartans. Also there are no brutes in Halo 4, I do not think of this game as a new 'game' I think it is a new campaign for Halo: Reach. I can't wait to buy the game but I just don't like the fact there are no brutes, the elites can be in the game because of story line reasons like that Elites are in the Covenant but Brutes are a major part of the Halo 2 and Halo 3 campaigns. Its a shame that Brutes could not be coded in the game engine because of laziness, forgetfulness or whatever reason. I cannot wait to buy the game, I know these things because the video leeks on YouTube of the campaign. Best wishes 343. Massive Halo Fan ~Jacob

With Bungie there was a clan system where you could create, name, and organize leadership roles on their site. Does anyone know if this could be a upcomming feature?

Heres a bit of a rant about two arguments I am always reading. 1) "But that's not Halo!" -Traditionalist Halo player complaining about changes. 2) "Adapt" -Progressive Halo player complaining about people complaining about changes. Neither argument means much of anything because neither argument really says much of anything about the nature of the change being made. The first argument isn't as bad because there are a few cases when it actually applies...for example, I personally don't think the perk system in Call of Duty detracts from Call of Duty but it certainly does not belong in Halo, so I guess its okay to say "But that's not Halo!" but then (for example) when people talk about something like universal sprint or 1st person vehicles, people say "but that's not Halo!". Yeah...its not Halo because it hasn't been in Halo. Might as well say Brutes "aren't Halo" (before Halo 2) or Forge isn't Halo (before Halo 3). What I'm wondering is what is this strange intangible "Halo-ness" which we are comparing these new elements to? Then you get people saying "adapt", like when talking about changes in Reach. This is even worse than the previous argument because at least saying something wasn't Halo was making some sort of value judgement about something...with "adapt" we could be talking about any change in the book and the progressive Halo player might blindly insist that the change is for the best and that we should blindly keep singing the particular Halo game (and its developers) praises even though people might very well know in their heart of hearts that the new element is at best neutral in terms of improving the game and at worst completely stupid. Point is, the community should just judge a particular element by its own merits, not based on a need to freeze Halo as it currently is, or to deceive yourself into thinking that the last Halo is as good or better than the last.

Would you like the armory to be updated? Yes or No? Why? Would you support the removal of all non-preordered versions of the recon helmet? Personally, all people who wear any recon helmet excluding the pre-ordered version of recon are just jealous of us who pre-ordered. (My opinion. Don't yell at me for it) Bungie>343i

I personally like the changes of duration but some thing are taken out for wich armour lock was meant to be. Like a plasma grenade does not deflect anymore and kills you instantly while in armour lock but armour lock was meant to be used against explosions. So theres my thought leave yours below.
