Haloathon is an annual Halo marathon held in the Newcastle, UK. Participants are planning to play through the campaigns of all six main Halo games back-to-back, without a break. They raise money for Special Effect which is a charity that helps disabled kids play videogames. I'll discuss that in greater detail closer to the time. As a prelude to the marathon, they're running a charity auction with a chance to win a sealed copy of Halo 2 signed by an assortment of Bungie staff. Bidding is currently running at the low, low price of £81. Which is just about the going rate for a non-signed copy of Halo 2.
