How long until the Mantis is removed from halo 4 multiplayer? I really thought it would be last patch but i guess 343 didnt have time to do it because of the new DLC. It is extremely OP, it has ruined multiplayer for me, i payed $100 for this game and dont play it because the mantis ruins every map that it is on, and those are the only maps i enjoy playing. Especially CTF on ragnarok, when they just hide behind the hill, it takes half the game to destroy it then it just respawns, and theres no way to get past it. It was a good idea for the campaign and maybe 1 map on multiplayer, but they really over did it. 80% of the people i have talked to want it removed as well, the rest dont mind if it is in or not. So yeah when is it going to be removed 343? I would like a mod's answer please. Or at least a major nerf so it dies in 4 plasma grenades or something. Thanks

Halo 4 was some pluses and so negatives. Pros- -campaign was pretty good for the most part -graphics -spartan: ops, its like a new campaign every week -regicide -flood skin is great -forge is easier for a newbie Cons- -griffball - huge disappointment there. I expected many gametypes similar to reach. I expected many variations in maps but all i got were a bunch of squares with several minor changes. Even halo 3 had a map variation better than that -ordinance it promotes camping and gets rid of skill. In other halos you had to know the map if you wanted to win. You needed to know where power weapons would be found unlike now it just shows you where they are. -load outs unfair and unbalanced if u play longer you get better weapons. Everybody should start a match with the same guns. -skins should have a seperate section so i can put any skin on any armor. -mantis is over powered -no race -no multi team -no invasion -no assault -no percision forging -magnets dont always work right and can leave holes in maps -not enough small maps -not balanced starting points in maps *SPOILER ALERT* - master chief shows his eyes in the legendary ending. If any more of master chief is shown without armor it will be my last halo. Unfortunatly there are more negatives than positives. some could get fixed others will not atleast until the next halo. This is just my opinion and you may feel free to voice yours.

Crab Crushing Search for: IntenseSenses 2 - 8 players. 4v4 Twisted mix of mantis physics, a 4v4 mantis brawl. They can't hurt anyone with their gun or rockets, but they can stomp (*crush*). Objective is to score the most points by just crushing you enemy "crabs" with the help of fellow "crabs". Plenty of destruction. Not the best pic...I know. Gametype: Crab Crushing Map: Crab Arena Give it a try... I'm hoping for a new hit. Thank You

Gamertag: MrAllMiteyPinoy Map: Shootin ducks Gametype: shootin ducks Description: This map is a king of the hill map made to be played with about no more than 12 players. The objective for the game is different for both sides, one side has six mantises the other has six warthogs. The mantis team's objective is to destroy the warthogs before they can destroy all of the mantises. That leads to the warthog side's objective, destroy all of the mantises. Once the mantises are destroyed players from that team respawn out side of the hill and cannot re-enter. Once all mantises are destroyed the warthog team captures the hill for 30 points and wins. The warthogs are gunner only and move slowly towards a kill ball (using gravity volumes) Warthog team respawns in the hill.

Halo 3 was slower than 4, but it was more fair. Cortana comes outta lightbridge, then she disintegrates, seems logical. Well okay all cool characters in halo die (captain keyes & sergeant johnson). But whats about the new crimson map pack achievements? Stamp 20 players to death with a mantis! Maybe 343 wants to chain players who wanna have all achievements (You know what I mean if you have tried to kill players via stampin) nice that they want to have 800 m-points for this. One player betrayed me for a mantis and I couldn't kick him. In addition online coop gameplay is laggy, likewise most of bigger team maps. Oh well I also got killed by a "friendly" ghost and kill cam showed me that i haven't bordered on the ghost. It has to do with money, not? Still a merry little christmas!

I personally, would like to see some Mantis-based obstacle course/HORSE maps. That would add an extra twist to things instead of obstacle courses for just Spartans. What do you think and/or want to see involving the Mantis.

MONTIS MANGOOSE GameTag: Gitty1 Map Name: MANGOOSE Link: N/A GameType: MONTIS Link: N/A Description: An original map and gametype created on Impact. The players are either Flood or Spartans, the flood must get into Mantis' and chase the Spartans who are on Mongooses (Mongeese? Mongi?) while the Spartans try to survive. Honour rules are, Spartans stay on Mongooses and no shooting with the Mantis(Stamping only). The initial Flood count must be edited to half of the player count (rounding up is uneven) to a maximum of 4 for this map. This is the first dedicated map for the gametype so some issues may have been missed and feedbck would be apreciated. I am also looking to make many more maps for this gametype. Thanks in advance for any and all constructive feedback. I'll get better pictures and fill in the links when the fileshres are put on Waypoint.

That would be awesome, I always joke about the Mantis as a pre-mature Optimus Prime aka OP, but to finish off the look it needs a thruster pack. What better way to make the Mantis more complete than adding a thruster back. Not only that but one that could be used in order to jump maybe a little off of the ground. EPIC. PS. I can not help but laugh when someone is stomped on by a mantis, it is so dang funny. Talk about a Spartan Kick. Any level with the mantis is SPARTA!

Hey guys. I've just made a map on Halo 4 Forge on the map Erosion. It's called "Mech Wars". Basically it's two teams (Red and Blue) battling each other in Mantises. If you have any suggestions are anything, feel free to message me. Also I am working on the Elevator for the Mechs at the moment, so please, no comments asking me to fix it. Thanks guys Cazmo1995

I just thought of a brilliant idea (and I know that the game has gone gold so shush!) What if we make a playlist where you can either play as a Mantis or a Promethean Knight? Figuring that they are bout the same size, It would be like BTB Infection. If only we could have Knights in multiplayer...

The map Valhalla returns as Ragnarok in Halo 4 along with a new vehicle, the Mantis! From: http://halo.xbox.com/en-US/Universe/detail/halo-4-mantis-trailer/5c5bc6fb-7cb0-4552-be8e-d6f54ed5c417 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kg-gspVSjak From Little English Blog ( http://www.littleenglishhaloblog.com/) and his view on using this mantis. I am simply quoting him. Enjoy. "On Wednesday I was able to get hands on with the Mantis and I can confirm that the thing is an absolute beast. It's slow but stable and packs a whopping punch, with a machine gun on the right trigger and rail gun on the left (the charge time between shots for the rail gun is about 4 seconds). At first the Mantis seems hugely overpowered, it can take a ton of damage and with a good aim can destroy any other vehicle (not unlike the Scorpion), his kill times are quick and it's quick enough that if you're careful you can usually pull back and get out of trouble. In the first game I played I ran to grab our Mantis (blue team), but someone beat me to it, I hopped in a Ghost and sped over to red base in the hope that none of their team were aware of the Mantis. I got lucky. Me and my team mate who had our Mantis marauded around centre hill and completely dominated the match, I got killed late on by a Plasma Pistol - Sticky Grenade combo, but the other guy on our team didn't die at all. I know this will be setting off alarm bells for many readers. This is why I said "at first the Mantis seems hugely overpowered", when you don't know how to deal with the Mantis it will absolutely dominate you, but 343 has clearly paid some thought to its behaviour. It has a very slow turning speed - slower than the running speed of a Spartan - so if you keep strafing and shooting it makes it very difficult for the Mantis to track you. I was able to take one down with a grenade and full AR clip (though I can't know what state it's shields were in when I began attacking it). To me this seems like a fair trade off, if you get the jump on the Mantis you'll probably kill it, if it spots you first then you're probably dead. After a few games it didn't feel as dominant as the Scorpion, but was a lot more fun to have in the playspace. As well as the dual firing modes it also has a melee "stomp" for nearby enemies and it can teabag with the crouch button. 343 have cheekily given the mech some junk so it actually has something to teabag you with..."

Basically, it would be an infection variant where its the job of the "zombies" to destroy a group of escaped Mantis Men. The "survivors" would all spawn in a big room behind a one-way forcefield that would let them leave once they've boarded a Mantis (this area would also have a timed killzone on it). Then they try to stay alive. The "zombies" would be using the classic spartan models (I'm sure you can still do that) and they would all have some combination of heavy weapons, there could be an alpha zombie with a laser. if, somehow, there are loadout options for zombies, I'd call them "astronaut" (jetpack), "war hero" (hardlight), and "olympian" (uh... thruster or something, it doesn't really matter). herp derp, Portal 2 references
