Hi everyone, Spartan here with Site Poll 95. Last week we talked about your favourite Spartan-IV, and one soldier came out on top by a mile. There were some competent rivals in Poll 94, such as Palmer and Buck, but Thorne was the community's favourite. It was great to see such a large response from users on Twitter, which more than made up for the underwhelming number of answers left on the site here. Click here to view the last poll, 94. The future of the Reclaimer Saga? Originally named "The Reclaimer Trilogy", the Reclaimer Saga is currently at a standstill, to the public eye at least. Halo 4 was beautiful. Five years after we last saw John, was great to have him back. Halo 5 wasn't as well received, by most of us, but it expanded well in the Campaign. We know very little about Infinite, next year will be a lot of information, that's guaranteed. The way things are at the moment though, Halo's future is not clear. It'll certainly clear up when we know more about Infinite, but for now, the Reclaimer saga's up in the air. The name of this week's poll isn't clear, what I'm looking for is your thoughts on this saga. A big questions to be answered: How many episodes will it include? Infinite would have been the last if it was a trilogy, but it's not. The thing is, due to its name, John-117 must be included. I can imagine the four installment being the last, as if Halo 5, Infinite, and the one after that are their own trilogy. It's really hard to speculate, and I personally don't care too much for speculation, I'm more eager for time to pass so we know what's happening. Something that's essential is how long the saga will be, what do you all think about that? Things you could cover are how and when the saga will end. Would it be the final end? Will it be a long, but final saga? Would it ever be able to top the original trilogy? Many things to be said here, go nuts. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, Spartan out.

The Future of Halo will no longer considered a "trilogy" but rather a "Saga". According to an article released last week, future titles will no longer be numbered like previous titles. According to Forbes contributor Paul_Tassi .... Last week, before Microsoft pulled a 180 on their DRM and internet policies, I remarked that because the Xbox One was in a rather rough spot, it was going to have to rely on Halo as a system seller now more than ever. The playing field has been leveled a bit since then with the death of license-based disc games and internet check-in, but it’s a statement that still holds true. Microsoft seems to agree. That’s why it’s been announced that 343′s Reclaimer Trilogy, which was meant to be Halos 4, 5 and 6, has now transformed into something Microsoft is now calling a Halo “saga.” This idea sprung to life when they were pressed about what exactly the Halo title was that was shown at E3, as it didn’t have a number or even a subtitle. Would it be an add-on type game like ODST, or another full Halo game like the numbered installments? The answer is the latter, though whether it will be called Halo 5 isn’t clear and might be beside the point now anyway. With that news, Phil Spencer spoke to Gamespot about the new plan for upcoming Halo games: “While we originally said trilogy, we’ve actually expanded this to more of a saga, so we don’t want to limit the Reclaimer story within a trilogy.” What this potentially might mean is that Microsoft wants to bump up the frequency of Halo titles. I don’t think it would be physically possible to turn it into a yearly Call of Duty style release with only 343 working on it, nor do I think that would be good for the series. But we might see a higher occurrence of the games all the same. When all the DRM/always-on drama was going down, I posed a question to Xbox loyalists/Halo enthusiasts about whether or not the games exclusivity on the one would make them buy a system. The response was an overwhelming no. Partly because Microsoft’s policies were too intrusive to stomach, but a fair amount said that Halo just didn’t have the same draw that it used to have after six shooter titles. Many were more excited about Destiny or Titanfall, new IPs from trusted studios, including Halo’s former masters, Bungie. That said, Halo is still a powerful franchise for Microsoft to wield, and by “unrestricting” themselves from a trilogy, it’s clear they have big plans for the series. So there you have it! Future Halos will no longer be numbered with new titles planning to be released more frequently. Also note the response to the "exclusivity on the One would make them buy a system"... "response was an overwhelming NO." What does this mean for the franchise that alot of gamers deemed the "best first person shooter"?? Guess we will have to wait and see what Microsoft and 343Industries have planned. Image and content courtesy of Forbes.com.

Hey guys, i was just wondering if anybody is as much in love with the halo universe as i am. To be more specific the Forerunner saga. I've already read the first two of the Forerunner books and would love to just discuss it with people who have also read the books and are as much looking forward to the third and last of the Forerunner series. I really want to discuss the conversation the Didact had with the primordial towards the end of the second book. Talk about how awesome ancient humans must have been during the Forunner-Human War. Talk about how you guys feel about their 'Religion', so to speak, of upholding the mantle and of being the guardians of all life. That and everything else that makes Forerunners an amazing fictional race. Seems as if we could actually learn a lot form this fictional culture. And to Bungie and 343 for making/continuing such an awesome universe. Hopefully 343 that this will not be the last we hear of the Forerunner, I want to read more books regarding their culture, maybe even everyday life for a Forerunner. Maybe even some small conflicts that the forerunner had to overcome in their long years.
