Gamer-Tag: Hydrolysis Map: .Synthesis v2.1 Game Types: Slayer, Infinity Slayer, SWAT, Oddball, & KotH Description: In the aftermath of the fall of Reach, humanity urgently strove to discover a new planet in which to call home; however, despite humanity's years of space exploration, no planet had previously been discovered which could support life. On many of these uninhabitable planets, scientists performed tests to artificially foster life. Scientists were able to extract energy from the planet's star and successfully synthesize chlorophyll. This artificial chlorophyll was then pumped into the planets crust in the attempt to foster plant growth. While the project proved successful the it was ultimately terminated as a result of limited funding. Though long abandoned, this facility continues to flourish. Inspired by great Halo maps Midship, Zealot, and Countdown, Synthesis is a small-mid sized competitive multiplayer map designed for 2v2 to 4v4 gameplay. Weapons on Map Frag Grenade 2x 45 sec Plasma Grenade 4x 45 sec Pulse Grenade 2x 45 sec Ordinance Drops Scatter-Shot: 120 sec Sticky Detonator: 120 sec Rail Gun: 120 sec Synthesis has gone through several iterations and had numerous testings, so I hope you enjoy! Thanks to everyone who helped test and gave feedback/suggestions for improvement. May the Forge gods smile upon you! -Hydrolysis

I can't stop playing team doubles. Theres one thing that really bothers me, however; the map voting system. I love that you can vote towards the map you want, but there is a feature that should there be a 2-2 tie between two maps, the map towards the left takes precedence over the others every time. Its disappointing cause my map will be for instance rail on the far right, and if the other team votes for either map together, they automatically win. I believe that a simple "if two maps have a tie of two votes, flip a coin for two wins. It only makes sense. I hope others agree with this, perhaps the 343 could consider a change. Just my thoughts.. Having spent the best part of the last decade playing various incarnations of Halo with a good friend, predominantly in double team playlists: the team doubles update of last weekend was a very welcome addition to my Halo 4 matchmaking list. I'm aware it's in its infancy and is probably still open to a little tweaking here or there, but my following complain still stands. Around ten minutes ago I finished up a session of team doubles, around ten or more games. Seven of those ten were "Doubles Pro" (Essentially 'MLG', no radar, no armour abilities, no perks etc.), and in three of those pre-game voting menus, all three options had been Doubles Pro. Leaving no choice of alternative game types. I don't mind occasionally playing a stripped back game such as Pro playlists. Often it can be fun to shirk all the additions and play a simple, straight up death-match. However, it becomes very tedious when it's time after time, game after game, with very little variation or choice. I've never really understood the fascination with "MLG" and players claiming to be 'pro', anyway. How does one become a professional whilst playing a recreational game in their own home? I don't think I will ever understand why folk buy a game such as Halo 4 (which is flush with additional material to your bog standard shooters - armour abilities, armour upgrades, stylistic unlockables, perks, professions etc.) and then go out of their way to play only stripped back games. Even less do I understand why these same people have the tenacity to then chastise those who wish to play the full game to its potential. (You may recall being hounded out as a "Jetpack ***" etc. if you didn't use sprint only in Halo Reach). So why have 343 went to the effort of constructing a game wherein we can adapt, evolve and sculpt our characters into our own little machines, only to strip us of being able to play with them in the majority of matchmaking? It seems counterproductive to me, and downright infuriating when I've carefully chosen loadouts and skillsets beforehand. Yes, I'm aware this post will offend the droves of close-minded, set-in-their-ways, fat, middle-aged men called Bert who hold both the appeal and personality of a homophobic boulder. I expect to be informed about my mother's promiscuity and my subsequent homosexual lifestyle, in response to this post. Intelligence is clearly an afterthought with the Halo community. Although, that suggests thought at all.

Team doubles will be added to Halo 4's multiplayer next week and it will include 3 team doubles gametypes which is Infinity team doubles, team doubles pro and CTF team doubles. Read below for more details Credit to Sykowolf for finding this. This article is from Gamesptot. The first is Infinity Doubles, which lets players choose a custom loadout and allows for instant respawn and use of radar. Ordnances will become active at the traditional 70-point mark, but options are adjusted specifically for Team Doubles, 343 said. Games are played to 300 points. Doubles Pro features preset game loadouts (available at the 343 website) and the score limit is the same as above. However, radar, personal ordnance, and instant respawn are toggled off. Third, CTF Doubles is a customized version of the Capture the Flag game mode for teams of two. Custom loadouts and radar are enabled and respawn timers are set to 10 seconds. Flag locations have been tweaked, 343 said, to "provide an optimal experience for small maps and teams." Rules of the game are: five flags to win, three-second return, and 15-second rest. In addition, gamers do not need to have their flag home to score. A finalized map pool is still being worked on, though 343 said modified versions of Haven, Abandon, and Solace will be included, as well as some Forge-made maps. In addition to announcing and detailing Halo 4's new Team Doubles playlist, 343 also revealed two new specializations will be added to the mix next week. They are Rogue and Tracker. More details are available on the 343 website. Also on tap for Halo 4 in February is the game's next multiplayer map pack. The Majestic expansion adds new environments Landfall, Monolith, and Skyline to the mix.

Alright, I didn't see that anywhere so I decided to post it. If you have taken a look at the latest Halo Bulletin on Waypoint, you should know that some cool updates will be released on 1/21 to 2/4. *From Halo Waypoint* Week of 1/21 Spartan Ops Episode 6: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic. "Forge Test" playlist (name not final): A rotational hopper featuring small Forge maps such as Relay. Help us test these maps by providing feedback and reporting bugs that will assist us in getting them ready for Matchmaking! Specializations: Pioneer and Pathfinder Specializations unlocked for all players. Week of 1/28 Spartan Ops Episode 7: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic. Grifball playlist: A rotational hopper featuring everybody’s favorite virtual sport. Catch the disease! Specializations: Engineer and Stalker Specializations unlocked for all players. Week of 2/4 Spartan Ops Episode 8: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic. Team Doubles playlist: A rotational hopper for those of you that like action of the 2 vs 2 variety. Specializations: Rogue and Tracker Specializations unlocked for all players. As you can see, Specializations will eventually appear in the game for the rest of the players. Also, some all-time favorites will return, such as Grifball and Team Doubles. Plus, small Forge maps will be available in War games matchmaking. And, of course, don't forget about the rest of Spartan Ops season! Again I apologize if it has been posted already.

ok, so first off i'd just like to say that i love the game and its a big upgrade from reach. now that, that's out of the way i want to focus on some stuff 343 isnt getting apparently. Now dont get me wrong i know there new to this but it just seems to me they are ignoring alot of their community. anyway my point is with the new map coming out i was expecting some new smaller maps instead i seem to be seeing more outdoor large maps. this really sucks because in order for me to play some team double i have to go back to reach and i find myself enjoying reach more at times. just the small symmetrical maps makes it feel like halo. in short i just want team doubles and with some smaller maps and ill be happy. what do you all think?
