Hi guys and gals!! I've just made a good idea, I think at least... So, it is 2014, nearing 2015. We've come a long way from the 8-bit games we used to play, and why not make comparisons from then to now? RULES: 1. Old to new - Try your best to get the same angle. If you can't, use your imagination. 2. This is obviously an old to new system. You could use Mario Level Creator for Wii U since it used two graphics engines, no worries. Alright, I'll go first!! Old: New: Whoever goes next (if someone does), choose whatever you got! And yes, Any Halo: CE - Halo 2 Anniversary photos work too.

NOTE: THIS IS PURELY FOR FUN AND IN NO WAY DO YOU GAIN ANY REAL RANKING OR POWER IN THE COMMUNITY. NOT OFFICIALLY ANYWAY. Alright boys and girls, it's that time again. It's time to give the current presidents the boot and get a new one, or two possibly. To those who are new to this, I have a presidential election for the forum every 4 months on the dot. Okay, more or less. Election day is always on the dot though. I know that one for a fact. Anyway, I started this a while back, it's a fun little game on the forum. I attempt to run these things as independently of the moderators and other staff as possible, since this is unofficial. There are rules to be followed and if you choose to not follow them, a request will be made to have your post removed from this and all election related threads and you will be bared from future elections. Seems fair, right? Okay, here's the important part right here. The rules. First, before I list them, all rules and they're meaning as to whether or not one was broken will ultimately be decided by me. I'm a merciful behind the scenes ruler though, so I'll give warnings if I don't think it's a bad breach. (Also, RedStarRocket has the right to change the rules) THE RULES: 1. In order to participate you must get two nominations. 2. You cannot nominate yourself. 3. You can only nominate ONE member. 4. All nominations must be made in this thread. 5. All candidates have the right to a manager and to campaign on the forum in the offbeat section. 6. Absolutely ALL advertisement of any kind for any candidate is strictly prohibited from the main thread. (this one) 7. Moderators are not allowed to run for president unless they have been a president in the past. 8. Every past president has the right to be re-elected if they get nominated. 9. READ ALL POSTS MADE IN THE THREAD BEFORE YOU NOMINATE SOMEONE! 10. If someone already has two nominations, you can't nominate them. 11. No being a jerk to others in any way, even a joking manner. It hurts and offends others. So don't do it. 12. A candidate that has received two nominations can withdraw from the race at any time. 13. A candidate who has withdrawn from the race can join back any time before the end of the nomination period. 14. You must have fun at all times during the next two weeks. Candidates: The Stig Bnus Maestro Yoshi1176 Sikslik7 Ledgend1221 UNSC Spartan-II Azaxx D-38 Boss Drizzy_Dan The nomination period ends in one week. After that the campaigning will begin for four days. You are free to campaign from the moment you are nominated fully. After the four days, it gets interesting. Have fun everyone. :3

Redcoat The game: After a bloody and gruesome civil war in the US, a rag-tag group of rebellious militia known as Redcoats retreated underground, ruining most of the landscapes above. Many years later we ascend from the darkness only to find the New World a mystic and rustic paradise, but what lies beneath this paradise is humanity's own perdition as Wildlife, Machines, and Psychotic Bandits from the Old World remain in the scattered and destroyed society, you, as a member of the Redcoats, must explore and advance in this frightening heaven and decide for yourself whether the world above is truly better in our hands, or the hands of mother nature. We are looking for people that will help put the game together, Application 1. Position (design, music, etc) 2. Past experience 3. What can you bring to the table? 4. When are you most readily available? 5. Any questions? For any additional information contact Edward Kenway or Yoshi1176

Member of the Month is a special award given out to those who excel at being members who go above and beyond the standards that we expect of quality members. They do not complain, they help others in need, and they make something out of nothing to bring delight to others. This Member of the Month was chosen from these traits, and many more that they have shown over not only the past month of April, but also those beforehand in a consistent manner. That being said, it was his time in April that had him shine, his creation of the Art Week thread allowed so many artists to come together and share their love for a common interest, something that's been tried before but never successfully achieved. Truly something that really got the Staff's attention. If you couldn't guess from that mystic write up, I'm here to present to you the Member of the Month for May 2014. You may see his purple name in the shoutbox, you may see it in forums, or you might just catch a glimpse of him in a PM. Wherever the place, he is a well known member of our forums, I'm proud to present to you our current MoM. The Dumb Marine! May his month of glory be an epic one, and enjoy that sweet new award you've just been given. If you haven't seen his first Art Week thread, check it out here. It may be closed, but many great artists are yet to be seen.

Hello everyone, and welcome to the 17th 343i Weekly Community Poll! Now I was going to have this up last week, but I like many of you I'm sure, was very busy. While I did have the chance to put it up mid-week, I didn't want to throw it off schedule. I'm sorry for this inconvienence and I will try not to let it happen again. Now to the poll from way back when...Oh yes, I asked you all what the most difficult level for you to beat in Halo was. Here are the results: On to this week's Community Poll question! This question is one that I myself have trouble answering. Mostly because each of them were fun and special in they're own way, but we there can only be one winner. Here's your new poll question: Which is Better, Firefight or Spartan Ops? Please list your thoughts, and be sure to summarize with a clear voting opinion below. The voting deadline is 8:00 AM EST, on February 3, 2014. Thank You all for particpating and I'd like to encourage you to submit your suggestions for the weekly poll to me. It'd be a great help if I could get some feedback on some questions you'd like to be asked. -Thanks, BZ1

This is a competitive remake map reimagined in Halo 4. It's simple enough to follow, it's non random weapons with other weapons scattered around in your base, each team gets a bunch of armour abilities, two Shotguns, DMRs, a sticky detonator, plasma pistol, rocket and sniper but they all have limited ammo with medium respawn times so don't waste the ammo. Also each teams gets a mongoose. Here is a neutral banshee in the middle. My Advice: Don't go for the banshee at the start as it gets chain hijacked until it is destroyed, my advise stay back and try to hold the middle where the banshee spawn is as it pushes the other team back plus just throw your grenades as you leave your base. Requires a custom gametype: Classic CTF adaption Credit goes to Xerbase for the original idea for this in Reach If you remember any spots or are rewatching the video of it to find some techniques it's called Frontline and it was reviewed on THFE. Good Luck Getting That Flag... Original map from Reach: The remake: and

Hello everyone, As I am still fairly new to Halo 3, (and I just joined this seemingly-awesome community!) I am still inexperienced with callouts, and some of the map spawns. Members should be able to be online most days of the weeks, (3-4 days at least) and commit to becoming better players, and working together as a team. Anyways, if you are interested, let me know. Having Halo 3: ODST with all of the Halo 3 map packs is preferred, though not required (though it is needed for team Doubles, Big Team, etc). My gamertag is: "Zicorth". I live in Canada, with my timezone being EST, which is 3:54PM, at the moment of this post. I will be online for most of this week. See you in the field, Spartans! =)

Lately a rumor has popped up about Halo coming to Steam...Microsoft has announced that this is not happening. The folowing is from an article on Kotaku.com Source This weekend, many noticed something curious: some Halo titles were listed in the Steam registry. Some assumed this meant that these titles were coming to Steam. According to a Microsoft spokesperson, that’s not the case. “We currently do not have plans to release any ‘Halo‘ titles on Steam,” said a Microsoft spokesperson to Kotaku. Sceptical? I wouldn’t blame you. When folks say there aren’t any plans, it sometimes actually means “not yet.” It’s worth noting that, unlike other titles which have now been confirmed — like Dyad — Halo 2 and Halo 3 pages were almost immediately taken down and can no longer be accessed. Maybe that means something. Maybe not.

On Adrift there are several viable routes you can take from the start. That is why I made this video to showcase these starts and get your feedback on which one you typically use and why? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZMa-WT1hRM&feature=plcp . . .

Spawning Red on Abandon gives you a huge advantage not only with easy access to power weapons (Needler + Scattershot) but the initial height advantage during the first firefight almost always guarantees that you will end up ahead. This is why I think the Red Spawn on Abandon is a little broken. In the video below I've gone through several viable starts both for red and blue spawn but I think you'll agree that the red spawn definitely has the advantage. So what do you think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKsqhwzIqO8 .

Hey guys so I just recently discovered how easy killing a lot of the vehicles in Halo 4 is by just team shooting it with your primary weapon. This is why I decided to test which of your primary weapons kills each vehicle the fastest. I started with the Warthog and found that there is a surprising difference in what guns does the most damage to the vehicle and what gun does the least... cough cough the carbine cough cough. Anyways I've posted my test results in the video below for you all to see. If you guys enjoyed this video and would like to see more tests, tricks, tips, and game-play commentary please like and subscribe, I've got a bunch of very interesting tests coming out within the next week or so. Thanks for your time! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gU_xtG0c-A&feature=plcp .

I was watching a bit of Yogscast and for some reason I thought of this topic. What if your doctor told you that you had 2 MONTHS AND 2 MONTHS ONLY to live? How would you spend it? Live life on the edge or play as Master Chief one last time? Spend all your money on trips around the world or throw it at bystanders? Do something recreational or skip around your neighborhood shouting the M.L.P song at the top of your lungs, JUST BECAUSE YOU COULD. So tell me, how would you spend your final hours? Me? Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, is better than playing as a badass, 7-foot tall, super soldier.

"I used to make comments like yours, but then I took an arrow to the knee..." "I used to play Halo like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee" "I used to make arrow to the knee jokes, but then I took an arrow to the knee" Arrow to the knee. A reference well-known by Skyrim fans which has now spread like a virus and infected half of the internet. Sadly, no number of 500 mile walks or commercials will give us a cure. I get how sometimes it would be funny. I've killed Alduin 7 TIMES thus "beating" the game. Like everyone else I'm a huge Skyrim fan (though not as much as Halo) and understand how the joke would be funny. But, when it appears in Youtube comments or other gaming threads, it makes me want to reach through the computer and choke that person. AND NO, I AM NOT A SOCIOPATH. The worst part is, I SEE IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I have taken THOUSANDS OF ARROWS TO THE KNEE. WHAT MAKES YOUR KNEE SO SPECIAL? So, as a message to you "arrow to the knee" commenters, KNOCK. IT. OFF. I'm sick of it. What? Still not convinced? Still think this post has been a waste of time? WELL.... well, maybe it has. Just one last little thing before you get sick of me and go read something else. For those of you who have played Dead Space 2 or are at least aware of what goes on in it, before you type in those 4 little words, remember when Isaac Clarke took that needle to the eye.

As my anticipation for halo 4 grows increasingly after seeing the campaign and spartan ops videos, I wondered what ever happened to theSMG. The SMG was one of my favs in halo 3 and i think it would be cool to see it in halo 4. But either than that halo 4 will be amazing!!!!!!!

I found out a solution. Instead of making everyone else's gaming experience judged on by 1000-2000 people on the forums, why don't you try this. Instead of making the Title update mandatory, why don't you do a test? For a bout a month, make another playlist, that only has no title update. That way there would be a one playlist with title update in every gametype, and one without it. It would include every playlist, but without the title update. Moniter the number of players on each play list. Whichever one gets more players would become the new official title update. Sincerely, A person who represents the majority of the community in the belief that the title update really sucks In case you didn't get my example here's a demonstration. Note: > <--- represents a change in playlist Title update>Anniversary, Coop, Competitive, Community, Crappy TU Beta that is played by 1/1000000 of the community>And so on and so forth No title update>Anniversery, coop, competitive, community, Crappy TU Beta that is ruining Halo and will cause Halo 4 to put you out of business> and so on into the regular categories. OR BETTER YET! Make the title update optional! That way we can prove that no one who matters likes it. The OP has a "Revised" post list in this thread here. He had created another OP rather than update this one or post a revision in here. It was transferred here. Absolute Dog

As much as the community resented the old Halo 2 and 3 ranking system, to me, it was a good reason to continue ranking up in matchmaking. Which, plus these other points, are the reasons I believe it should return. THERE WOULD BE A POINT TO WINNING. With Reach's system it honestly doesn't mater if you win or lose, nor will you be penalized for leaving. When you play matchmaking in Reach, no one cares! Which is okay for social matches, but for ranked there should at least be some competitive tension. I'm tired of playing in matches where half the people don't play. Besides boosters the number system made a matchmaking that was balanced with opponents. It wouldn't take weeks to level up once, to gain the customizable parts of the player characters would not take time but rather honing skills. Minor changes could make the simple system flawless. Additions like removing the (I think its called) heat system, or at least dumbing it down would remove the entire argument that it's too hard to rank up. However a heat deranking system I think would work. So for example if you won ten games in a row and lost one you wouldn't drop in rank. But if you play two games and lose both your chance is increased to derank. Now I know a lot of you are against its return. So share thoughts here.

Hillo people! It's Azaxx! Anyway I decided my recent maps have been bad so I went to the Island for meditation...jks But I did built my first great assault-like infection map! The map for Team/FFA slayer has the following weapons- 2 Sniper Rifles, 2 DMR's, 2 Needlers, 2 Grenade Launchers, 2 Magnums, 2 Plasma Pistols and 1 Rocket Launcher. Plus can be played on Infection. The are plenty of spawns across the map to avoid spawn camping. Here are some screen shots. Top view of the map: The red base: The blue base: Behind blue base, across the map: And for infection: Anyways, I have not put this on my File-Share because there isn't any room, but if there is enough demand I will put it up for you guys As always please leave your thoughts for improvements below!

Hello, this is James, Spartan XX7 [REDACTED] My online handle is SterkOks (surely if you see this it is me, unless someone copykittied me) and that name translates from Hungarian as Strong Axe. A navem Sterk Oks. Place of Birth: Sol, 3, North America, USA, Michigan DOB: 29/04/xxxx Interests: Being awesome, playing Halo, playing guitar, chilling with good buds. I LOVE HEAVY METAL. This is a fact you must know about me. My top five bands are Pantera, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, and Amon Amarth. I like retro metal, and a few songs here and there from more recent times but surely if it's 80's I'll like it. I got into Halo when a friend of my brothers gave him (my brother) his old copy of Halo 2. This was a few years before 3 came out, and I didn't like the game at first, simply because they nerfed so much that it wasn't fun to play. But as I started to play the campaign more and more I realized that it was a really fun game. It's sort of a funny story that when Halo 3 first came out I didn't want to play it because I thought that it was stupid, but I really enjoyed the second one. There used to be a store up here called iZone where all the nerds would go to play WoW (mostly) but they also had an XBOX and that was the first time I was exposed to Halo 3. I was shocked that there were Brutes in the first level (it did not occur to me that the Elites were friendly) and I was also freaked out by the bubble shield. I was in the start menu and I hit X, not knowing that it would deploy something that looked like a grenade.... Then the brute ran into the shield.... [for the record I FAILED at playing that mission, but hey, it was my first time] Then I rented the game, and after that convinced my mom to buy me it, and had been playing the campaign for the longest time. Then for Christmas 2009 my mom got me Halo 3: ODST and XBOX Live. Yay. Ever since then I have been playing Halo and loving it, being a fanboy even. I went to a midnight launch party for Halo: Reach, of which I bought (or my mom bought) Legendary Edition, simply because FIRE!!!!!! FLAMING HELMET!!!!! YES!!!!! Now in my room you will find a 60 inch TV, a dresser, and a Halo Shrine. In my 4 years of Halo I have played all the games, read the Halo Encyclopedia, done every easter egg, gotten nearly every skull (thanks a lot mission one of Halo Wars), read every terminal, gotten most the achievements, and loved every moment of it. I also designed the ideas for several stories of my own creation based on Halo, like for example a few machinima (never got off the ground), an idea for a story called Halo: Sanghelios, which was the events of Reach up to Halo 3 from the perspective of Rtas 'Vadumee and Thel 'Vadmee. That's basically my whole Halo story, ask me any questions you have and I'll be happy to answer and please, please, for the love of god, don't be an idiot. Thank you very much.
