Halo 4’ multiplayer flaws and ‘Halo 5’ improvements discussed

 

 

Brad Welch has made several comments in regards to the multiplayer mode in the Xbox 360 exclusive video game, “Halo 4.” According to a report from VG247 on Nov. 28, the design director admitted to some mistakes that were made to the online component of the fourth main installment while promising that improvements would be made to the next game in the series, which will presumably be called “Halo 5.”

 

Brad Welch stated that the development team at 343 Industries “didn't service” multiplayer well in “Halo 4.” When one fan revealed that it was too easy to max out the progression system, the design director disclosed that he actually designed the structure. However, he had to pull out of working on that particular element as he needed major surgery at that time.

 

He went on to apologized about the unbalanced DLC maps in addition to admitting that the development team may have been under time constraint (although he also stated that this is a common occurrence among game developers). Finally, Brad Welch promised that the aforementioned problems will be improved in the next entry of the series, reconfirming that the forthcoming title features 60 frames per second and dedicated server support in the process.

 

The next “Halo” game will be released for the Xbox One in 2014.

I, for one, am at least happy to hear someone from the development team actually own up to some of what Halo 4's real faults were. Even though these comments are a year later and in a retrospective manner when speaking to the next game in the series, Brad deserves props for at least speaking to the facts and not glossing it over.

personally i think the best thing to do is go backwards. what did people love.

Halo 2: Competitiveness

the glitches- double shot, 'BXB', 'superbounces' etc.. they were fun but cheats but if you could introduce a 'double shot' into a skill that anyone can do (but some can do better) would be fantastic.

The ranking system- halo 2 by far had the best ranking system that actually showed a player where they were at.

Halo 3: Diversity which of course referring to he weapons, and character change.

brought about forge which was fantastic

but lacked the competitive ranking, and the unique skills such as double shot and bxb.

Reach..... BOMB. while it did have a much better forge they catered to people who dont play competitive games made it 'easy for everyone to enjoy'... over half the players were lost during reach. while making a 'CoD Halo' seems great they apparently failed to see all of why it was. which i personally think is of course customization but fast paced competitiveness mostly, 

what i would like to see most in Halo 5 is an upgraded halo forge, a correct ranking system in game not by amount of games played, the customizablilty of weapons, "loadouts", and characters. while keeping the diversity of weapons and maps etc...

Here is what I think should be improved

 

1 Better Forge.

 

2 Better Ranking System.

 

3 A Better Sound Track, the Sound Track to me...did not sound like HALO at all! To me...the best Sound Track...the Father of all HALO Sound Tracks...Is HALO 2.

FEARLESSNESS hit it square on the head... work backwards, bungie "messed" with the HUGE success they had in Halo 2/Halo 3 and ruined it with reach... and mad it fun for "everyone".....  where their market reasearch failed is that the casual "fun for everyone" player will drop the game after a month and move on to another game.  The true halo fans lost interest b/c there was no competitiveness and they obviously wanted to build a CoD-halo style game... Put the real ranking system back in there from Halo 2 or appeal to all crowds with the halo 3 ranking system (let the "fun for everyone" fans enjoy their stupid general emblem and let the competitive gamers earn the ranks)
