BeckoningZebra1
Nintendo's Wi-Fi service will be no more after May 20th. This news was announced in an Australian press release and was later confirmed by a Nintendo representative to be worldwide termination of the service. Although you will no longer be able to race world wide in Mario Kart, or see someone's village who is far away in Animal Crossing, Nintendo will still allow access to both the Wii's Shop Channel and the DSi Shop. So you will still be able to purchase and download digital titles following May 20. Nintendo also released, on their Australian website, a list of Nintendo published games that will no longer have online access enabled. Delpen9
This is just a ploy to get people and families with Wiis(mostly) to buy a Wii U. I doubt it would really help. The Wii U had been out for 8 months(possibly inaccurate but you get the jest) but both the PS4 and the XB1 cumulatively out-sold it in a week.
