Whats Your View On The New Enemies In Halo 4

I don't care for the visual design, but they look like they'll be fun to fight. I just hate how top heavy the promethean knights look...and the watchers and the crwlers and the knights don't look stylistically similiar enough for me...they don't seem like part of the same force.

To be honest im not entirely sure its still halo, technology for all factions has never really been inconsistent, all Covvie tech(excluding brutes)were all generally the same, usually purple or blue plasma/nuclear based weapons, nuclear being fuel rod cannon and carbine, not exactly sure what needles are made of...

The Brutes pretty much are there own faction, they never really took part in the established order of things, they spent all there time in the either as underlings or fighting elites, so they dont really count for covvie tech.

UNSC are mainly projectile weapons with some experimental "new" weapons like the Gauss cannon, or spartan laser, while coming in all manner of earth tones they all generally look the same in concept and design.

While Forerunner technology has alway had that grey/golden look depending on what your looking at, while they do have other weapons most of there usage is high energy beam weapons, and until recently the only form they have taken has been as drones, like sentinels, these new machines dont really make sense to me.

Granted you have vast differences between the builder and warrior-servant casts, but you would think that the type of technology would be consistent all around.

To be honest, these machines really look border line ***anese, which I would take as a huge insult, considering how much stereo type crap you seen in ***anese cartoons, the forerunners dont really have all that much in common with any culture on earth, let alone asian cultures.

What do you say to this?

Agree with that, most definitely. They just seem too colorfull, not threatening or scary enough, too weird. I think allot of guys who worked on ***anese games have actually been pulled into 343 which kinda explains this. Maybe my prob is that White and Orange just doesn't seem very scary to me. And I'm surprised that 343 hasn't really done too good on these, considering the rest of their art direction has been really top notch...but the Prometheans just look off.

Well, colours are pretty much a cultural thing, so there should be an explanation on how the warriors are for how they dress and the colours they choose.

What I would like it see is a Promethean Warrior in some kind of stance, the symbolic Icon that represents them as a whole...

Another line of thought is that they make them up that way because they want them to be seen, take that and combine it was that freaky skull face from that one drone and I would say they may have made them all to instill fear as well as a lethal threat. The sphinxes, for what little we know of them, are also modeled as seemingly organic creatures, when putting this into an anthropological perspective, if you were from a society with lesser technology, and you were being invaded by an enemy you didnt fully understand it would be alot more intimidating for you if you were being attacked by mythological creatures, rather than machines...

Then again, it all depends on who you ask, I dont really know myself which is scarier, the bugs from starship troopers, or terminators of equal strength and power...

But yeah, I have personal issues with japanese culture, art, and how they see things culturally and philosophically, basically I have a problem with everything about them. :fish:
