I has been confirmed that forerunners will be in halo 4, but what forerunners do we know of?? Characters such as the Librarian and Master Builder are forerunner characters in some of the halo novels, but the one forerunner that stands out is the Didact. In the halo novels, it is never confirmed that the Didact was killed in any of the events. At the end of the halo 4 campaign trailer, a mysterious voice is heard and the symbol of the didact is shown. the voice says "I've long dreampt of this day, reclaimer". In the novels, the Didact discovered that the Mantle wasn't meant to be inherited by the forerunners, it was meant for the humans. this fact probably angers the Didact, and he wants to take the Mantle for the forerunner race because the forerunners always thought it eas meant for them. He probably thinks he can "win" the Mantle by defeating the mightiest of the humans......the reclaimer. I personally think the Didact will be an enemy but i would like to hear peoples opinions on this topic. please vote

at the end of the halo 4 trailer he gets surrounded then forerunners help him.the forerunners programmed the oricals to do the same thing so its friend to foe

this is just an assumption right? It sounds serious to me and i'm not sure of your extent of halo 4 knowledge

I feel something like The Didact will be angered for the supposed Librarians death, angered with the humans, for destroying the Halo Array, which he activated and killed The Librarian. He later discoveres that the Librarian might be alive (Halo: Cryptum, I think, briefly explains this) He goes and tries to find the Librarian.

i alos forgot to mention the terminal at the end of Halo CE. guilty spark mentions something about not having the librarian around to control the Didacts temper and that the reclaimer would rather prefer the flood. This insists that the Didact is very dangerous enemy and for somemone to prefer the flood over something else.......very hard to accomplish. This is just more evidence to back him up as being an enemy

"...And without the Librarian around to temper his rage... Well... These Reclaimers, might almost prefer the flood."

now i'm starting to get a new theory. Maybe the didact will start as an enemy while cortana is getting closer to her death. since he is a forerunner, he could probably repair cortana, so Chief would have to try to form a truce with the didact to save cortana. The didadct wouldnt comply and would continue to be a threat to chief. Then, 343 guilty spark arrives on requiem, along with the librarian. The librarian feels sympathy for chief and convinces the didact to save cortana. After that, the librarian continues to counsel the didact until he eventually becomes an ally to master chief. any thoughts?

Something like that were my thoughts man. But I thought they would team-up to search for the Librarian

thats a good idea for a different way that it could go. i hope it does end up more like halo 3 where you get to travel to all sorts of places in the campaign. I think it would be better off going to search for the Librarian
