The multiplayer component of Halo 4 will require players to install 8GB of data to play it, so Xbox 360 owners still running without a hard drive had better go spend some money.

“At a minimum, you’ll need at least an 8GB USB Flash Drive or an Xbox 360 Hard Drive to play Multiplayer mode inHalo 4,” reads the official Xbox.com product page. ”For an optimal experience playing with an Xbox 360 Hard Drive is highly recommended.”

If you plan on downloading the Spartan Ops episodic missions then you will need even more space on your hard drive.

More details have emerged regarding Halo 4‘s Spartan Ops mode, this time from a video interview with 343′s David Berger and Kevin Franklin.

Berger and Franklin told VG24/7 that Spartan Ops will “push the fiction forward after the launch of the game.” The episodic missions take place “about six months after the events of the campaign.” According to the pair, the cost of the missions will be included in the retail price, so presumably there will be a redeemable code in the box.

Five missions a week will be released, with each block being introduced by a CG cut-scene. A total of 50 missions spanning 10 weeks make up season one.
