Smokin Shadowz
City Interactive's Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 was originally set for an August 21, 2012 release in North America, but an update this morning from European distributor Namco Bandai confirms that the game's launch has now been shifted to October 9 (via Eurogamer). Before you start poking fun at Europe, you should also know that Amazon and GameStop have both updated their online product listings with the new date. No reason was given for the change in plans for Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2's release, though it seem rather baffling given that the game is only going to face more competition with its new holiday season launch. October 9 is the same day that Bethesda's Dishonored hits stores, and it's also a week after Resident Evil 6 arrives. That's some stiff competition for a game whose predecessor currently sits at a Metacritic rating of 45. That said, our own Rob Manuel saw plenty of promise in his Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 first look preview back in March. An awesome sniper game would be a wonderful thing indeed, so here's hoping the new release date helps City to lock down an engaging experience. http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/725660/sniper-ghost-warrior-2-release-delayed-into-fall-2012/
