Archangel Tyrael
When you fire up Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 later on in 2012, you'll be greeted by theme music composed by none other than Trent Reznor. The Nine Inch Nails frontman revealed his involvement with the November 13, 2012 release -- which amounts to a single guitar/bass/drums-based rock track -- in a new interview with USA Today; the rest of the game's soundtrack is in the capable hands of Video Games Live co-producer Jack Wall. Reznor, who won an Oscar for his work with Atticus Ross on the soundtrack for David Fincher's The Social Network, is a longtime gamer with history that goes all the way back to titles like Pong andTempest. He's also a Call of Duty fan. I have always looked to that franchise as the cutting edge of what seemingly unlimited budgets and full-on not cutting any corners can do in the current day and age," he said in the interview. There's a lot of talk in the USA Today piece about Reznor's process, both for the Black Ops 2 theme and in general. It's definitely worth a look. http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/725732/call-of-duty-black-ops-2-theme-composed-by-trent-reznor/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A new startup is looking to battle Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo in the living room with a brand-new console with an inexpensive price point. Ouya, built on a custom-based Android operating system targeted to launch early next year, is open to any developer looking to publish a game. The developers also set pricing; the one catch is that every game must have a free portion available, whether through a demo or free-to-play model. The console also supports other Android apps, such as TwitchTV, which comes included. Though some private funding has been secured already, the company has set up a Kickstarter page asking for an additional $950,000. You can visit Ouya's page right here. So far, no games have been confirmed, but a number of notable developers are already praising the device, such as Mojang, the developer behind Minecraft, Brian Fargo of inXile Entertainment, and Jenova Chen of thatgamecompany. patrinochan
Wow Trent Reznor? I had no idea. I've always appreciated his work in NIN and I can see where his ambient, electronic rock would fit into a near future COD.
