Mr. Snazz
This video shows that the custom classes are not Call of Duty like, the customization simply lets you pick from a very small limited list of items that you would like to start with, you CAN NOT spawn with a sniper, or spartan laser, or anything else of that sort. SatanicBagels
Not nearly enough people are comparing Halo 4 to CoD as these threads are popping up. That being said I think that the majority of people that are comparing the two games are being severely misunderstood. Their comparisons to CoD aren't as far off mark as some people would like to think, and some successful game mechanics from that series are being brought over to Halo 4. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But to say that Halo 4 is a new CoD game or that there aren't any comparisons to be made is simply inncorrect. Because it isn't and there are.
Mr. Snazz
No, there is definitely some ideas that are being borrowed, at the same time though they are both FPS so there are going to be similarities. Saying that Halo and CoD are not alike would be like saying Fable and The Elder Scrolls are not alike, there is going to be some ideas shared but I am just trying to show they are not the same game. Yes but some people are simply disappointed that Halo 4 is moving in the direction of a Call of Duty style game by speeding up the kill times and adding extensive customization features. I can completely understand this disappointment and I can completely understand the other side of the argument. Its simply a matter of the medium and method that they use to voice their opinion.
Carts
Its because most of the things they added was already in CoD. But this wont feel like CoD, and like all Halo games, it wont feel like the others.
Tallgeese
After Halo 2 mp, when Halo 3 mp was intorduced it was seen as completely different from Halo 2. When Reach came out, the mp seemed completely different once again, even without the introduction of AA. So yes, the Halo 4 mp will seem completely different from all previous Halo mp, but it will remain Halo none the less. including traits that are similar to CoD is not a bad thing, CoD is a strong FPS franchise for a reason, so using similar traits will only aid the Halo experience.

You put it exactly how I would of liked to. Halo is Halo, it will never be CoD even if it has ideas resembling it. I think it is just the norm for modern shooters to have classes though, look at GoW 3, Battlefield 2/3, Crysis 2, CoD, etc. Having classes for customization is sort of like being able to choosing your own character class in RPG's. It just adds to a better feel of the game and makes it more personal.
Stealth Pilot
"CoD" and "Call of Duty" need to be censored words on this forum. T_T

Tallgeese
Halo is Halo and CoD is CoD, both have brought fantastic elements to the FPS franchise and as time moves on both will inevitably borrow or develop similar traits, just as BF3 was directly compared to MW3. However, Halo will always remain Halo.
RoosterTeethFan
i love COD 4 its an amazing game and Halo is just barrowing from that in some ways. as long as it is balanced and feels like halo it should be the best halo yet.
Mr. Snazz
Call of Duty 4 was great, everything after never felt the same. Halo is just...fantastic in every way. Halo 2 and 3 are just amazing. I might sound like a bandwagon but I seriously dislike Reach after playing Halo 3 again.
Tallgeese
I agree Sn4zzle, if I play Reach I play the Anniversary playlists. Reach is aweful and ridden with inconsistencies. Halo 3 is still amazing, if Halo 2 was still around I would be playing that.
Minuette
Halo 4 will never be like reach, and sn4 I hardly saw any cod topics again, well when some what halo 4 information was released there was.
