Tallgeese
Poll and Topic say it all. I myself will probably start with the Covie Carbine or BR.
Ryu♥Hayabusa
Carbine all the way. I'd have a secondary BR or AR once I got the package. I'd have loadouts for each combo just in case.
Minuette
Assault rifle all the way, AR has always been my favorite weapon in the game
Zuko 'Zarhamee
Depends on the weapons. It'll probably be BR/DMR/Carbine and a Assault rifle
BigMartin58
You should change the poll to allow us to pick multiples because id be constantly switching between the carbine, BR, and DMR.
Mr Biggles
BR And DMR. Like to keep the classic , but i just in general like the DMR.
fzdw11
Definitely my first choice would be the BR, followed by the DMR or covenant carbine. The AR, meh. Sure, it's great in closer engagements, but I prefer to not let my enemy close in on me.
SatanicBagels
Mostly BR with a taste of Carbine on some of my loadouts. Also you forgot the storm rifle in your poll.
Tallgeese
i find it interesting that thr majority dont really rely upon the DMR. I myself love the covie carbine and the BR, was never a fan of the DMR in Reach
Mr. Snazz
Guys don't forget you do get 5 classes in Halo 4 so technically you could have one for each gun if you wanted. I know I won't, I will have 2 BR classes, and 1 DMR class. That'll be the extent of my use honestly.
RedStarRocket91
I'll probably go for either the Carbine or DMR, unless the Assault Rifle has a lot less bloom and kills a lot more quickly than it did in Reach, in which case I might well go for that on some maps. I won't be using the Battle Rifle, from what I've heard about kill times, accuracy and aim assist so far, it looks like it's going to be seriously underpowered. The Director
I'll probably start with the DMR, and may change my mind later. For some reason, I'm better with the DMR even with the ridiculous bullet spread than I was with the BR, and now the bullet spread is reduced. Archangel Tyrael
I picked Carbine. I will use the BR at first in campaign see how it feels. (apparently you have to unlock weapons for MP). So if the BR doesn't feel right to me i will always go back to another great classic that is the Carbine. It's a good underrated weapon.
Jerry
I would like to start with AR. Or all players should start with AR because if you have seen on halo 3 and halo reach where you spawned with br/dmr almost every player have the TOD dmr/br in every game which made it very lame. But because dmr/br/carmine is a good weapon and you spawn with it, you wont have to pick up other weapons... So it would be fun if you spawned with a poor weapon and had to fight to get a better weapon...but still the AR is good enough to kill others with "better" weapons. well this theory doesnt really apply in halo 4 anymore since you can choose which weapon you would like to start with... Sierra 119
DMR for long range and Assault rifle for mid range.I liked that loadout in Reach.
TerribleTimbo
I voted for BR but it really boils down to what is the better weapon in most scenarios. One thing I hate is having to keep spawing with weapons that aren't able to let me having a fighting chance at all ranges.
Tallgeese
From the info provided and videos viewed, it appears that the BR is good for medium/short range, DMR is good for long range. The carbine appears good at medium and affective at short due to its rof

Victory Element
i find it interesting that thr majority dont really rely upon the DMR. I myself love the covie carbine and the BR, was never a fan of the DMR in Reach wow, i like the DMR and i was surprised i wasnt the only one. i expected almost everyone using a BR, and this has made me concerned with my ammo supply. now that i know i can pick some ammo up off of bodies, i feel more confident. Thank you all you DMRers!!
RoosterTeethFan
the BR it can be used in so many situations.
Sikslik7
I will have to play the game first, and it wll probably change for each map but generally. From what I have gathered: AR- Close quarters combat BR-close mid range, wider spread than Halo 3 DMR- less bloom, but less effective at close range than in Reach Carbine- Faster than Halo 3, great to get rid of sheilds, but harder to finish someone off
TerribleTimbo
Carbine- Faster than Halo 3, great to get rid of sheilds, but harder to finish someone off I find that hard to believe considering it is a headshot weapon. Unless they changed it which wouldn't make much sense at all.
Sikslik7
It's a plasma weapon, it will take a sheild down faster, but will take longer to kill after there are no shields. Yes, if you get a heashot it doesn't really matter. It is my favorite weapon in Halo 3, and I will be playing with it
King of Winter
I will probably start with Carbine. Without a doubt I know I will better off with a DMR but gotta get adjust back onto my favorite weapons.

Yes, if you get a heashot it doesn't really matter. It is my favorite weapon in Halo 3, and I will be playing with it carbine is not a plasma weapon, plasma weapons are for example: plasma pistol, energy sword, plasma rifle, plasma launcher etc..because plasma can be very inaccurate and slow at long range carbine usues radioactive projectiles. And because it shoots radioactive projectiles it penetrates easily trough flesh and bone, which seemes to me its a good headshot weapon.
