Human Enemies in Halo 4

I saw a video on youtube titled "Halo 4 Animation Leaked?" showing several spartans fighting one another. I then realized that human enemies had never been encountered before in the Halo series, and with 343 already having stated many times that they're adding new things to the series, i wondered if the above could be one of them. It would be an interesting addition to the Halo series, an enemy already too familiar to the Chief from his early missions against rebels, recounted in the Halo novels. Do you think that human enemies will be encountered in Halo 4, and why do you think that the Chief would have to battle them?

Probably not. The Master Chief and the other Humans will be too focused on the prometheans to fight each other. Perhaps in another Halo title they will fight against rebels, but not Halo 4.

Also you could be watching MP footage?

Like if this was helpful :)

They were encountered in Halo Wars actually. They served as some light enemy opposition on the maps neutral bases so that there would be a little challange in conquering and controlling a new base.

Also in Halo reach they were worried about rebels in the first level "Winter Contingency." However they turned out to be farmers and not rebels. Nonetheless they are only added as small references on the sidelines of the major UNSC vs. Covenant war. They will most likely remain this way as the Covenant would be much more interesting to fight.

Only way I can see us fighting humans is if they produce a spin-off game that seeks to pin-point the starting point in the franchises major conflict and provide a little more UNSC backstory.

True, but i meant that we havent versed them in a main installment of Halo.

Probably, because they arent much of a match for the Master Chief

Ah, I can see your confusion here.

Do you know how games are animated? Each and every character has a physical actor and a voice actor. With the exception of enemy A.I.'s, which are each programmed in classes, as opposed to individually. But, that fight scene you saw was actually the fight scene between the chief and the promethean knight in the E3 gameplay video, also a part of campaign. It is two humans fighting, but every little detail of their movements is tracked and recorded, and implemented into the character in the game.

Were there still rebels after the Covenant War began. It seems like the arrival of the Covenant would create a sort of live together or die alone situation. The best comparison that I can think of would be emergence day in the Gears of War series. After the locust attacked the humans had no choice but to put aside their differences and combine their effort towards the goal of survival.

Regardless i do not see fighting against humans to be a logical thing for the Halo franchise to add. With the Covenant and Prometheans you have different classes of enemies that react differently to different combat scenarios. They foster different skills and weaknesses. Fighting humans would feel like one big blur and not be as exciting.

Although it would be pretty cool to face off against falcons in the campaign :P

BINGO. the animations were not finished yet so all of the "characters" had human characteristics still. Anyways, fighting humans would ruin the halo campaign. Who would want to replace the grunts with something like that

and also......

I think it's possible we'll see it in Spartan Ops. Now that the main Covenant faction is dealt with, presumably they didn't create the Spartan IVs in anticipation that they'd be fighting the Prometheans: they'd probably be training them for the same idea that the Spartan IIs were created for, dealing with rebels. If that's the case, there's no reason why they wouldn't simulate encounters with human rebel forces - it'd be fun to dodge AI bullets that aren't coming from the Flood, for once.
