Please No Armor Effects

Especially the ones that do something upon death. There's nothing more dumberer than shooting a spartan and having hearts or confetti shoot out of them. Just imo, if they have to have them, let me turn on a filter to where they don't show up to me at least. Pestilence, electricity, flames whaaaaat why... it was okay when only a couple people had flames, but now everyone has an armor effect so it is no longer tolerable. Opinions?

I personally dont mind them. They dont change the gameplay at all, they are just for show so that doesnt bother me. And its not like youre really paying attention to them while your killing them, youre paying attention to killing them lol.

There should not be a filter. That's like saying there should be a filter for armor that you don't like. I agree that there shouldn't be any armor effects though, at least not like the ones in Reach. Maybe the new armor effects could be cool though. Such as like skins. Like battle damaged with bullet marks, maybe a charred look like they ran through fire, things like that. Like wear and tear on the armor.

that would actually be a cool idea, but no armor effects like in reach......seriously......confetti and children cheering.....stink gas......no :no

I think this is really just nitpicking. I'd like to have some diversity.

See, I think that they also need to eliminate advantages from Armor Effects.

Inclement Weather was the worst in my opinion. It deflects some headshots away while shields are down. It has been proven to happen every now and again. And it also hurts enemies when they get nearby. Armor Effects like that do not need to be in. There are already packages for this in Halo 4.

I did not the like Armor Effects in Halo Reach. They seemed inconsistent to the tone of Halo's multiplayer; it was never aimed at being playful or comical, but then someone dies and cheering and confetti pop out of their heads? It ruined part of the immersion for me.

I like what Immortal Reaver suggested. Armor Effects that actually make sense and don't drawn extraordinary negative attention to yourself.

Immersion? Really? Do you honestly get immersed in a Halo match? I can't get really immersed in a Halo game while I am constantly getting dragged into a lobby. Red Dead Redemption had a good idea. Just let the lobbies be a multiplayer space.

I think Reach's armor effects were either stupid, like the death ones, or cumbersome, like pestilence, or advantageous, like Inclement weather. They were executed poorly. I think they can be done better. I like the idea of them. It adds a bit of spice to the otherwise bland and common armor pieces.

I would like them to make more sense aesthetically, and remove sound-bytes from them (grunt b-day party). The rust and tear idea is a good example. It would be almost like full skins for your armor in one package. Some could be animated and more expensive and others could be static.

SEE i would buy and use these, but not any of those flaming helmets or love heart BS

Those are not Armor Effects. Just a skin. If it's animated, it can be classified as an Armor Effect as Halo imagines them. If it is static, it isn't really an effect. Unless it does some weird filter to your colors.
