SykoWolf
Hey at the beginning of the Campaign clip shown at E3, there was a spherical object that scanned the Master Chief and chased after the Infinity. Now does anyone know what this is? I THINK that it is a Promethean probe, used to assess the combat capabilities of an enemy chip, but i don't know if it has combat capabilities. Azaxx
My thinking that it is the Cryptum with the Didact inside it.
Sierra1117
Yeah, I think it's a Cryptum with the Didact in it
SykoWolf
Really? Thats what you both think? Im pretty sure the didact is out of his cryptum, cause when your inside a cryptum your in a sort of deep sleep state
Sierra1117
Well this could easily be a new version or perhaps we weren't told everything about the cryptums
Ardent Prayer
Yah, it had to be a Cryptum, although I don't remember the Didact entering the Cryptum. Who knows? But it was a Cryptum. The Halopedia and Halo Nation pages say it.
Sierra1117
We'll find out when he got in it when silentium releases
Ryu♥Hayabusa
It's a Cryptum, but the occupant is unknown.
Victory Element
the Didact's cryptum is seen on the cover of Silentium, so once the book comes out, we'll find out how he gets there
SykoWolf
Ok then. So why is the cryptum chasing the Infinity? I wonder if he uses the cryptum's systems to control the promethean
Victory Element
Well on halopedia or halo wiki( i forget which one) it says cryptums are mobile and can move on their own
Sierra1117
And since they're able to move, a sphere would seem like the best shape because it is very aerodynamic
Victory Element
And since they're able to move, a sphere would seem like the best shape because it is very aerodynamic very true, but i just wonder how it decides to move... is it under control of the Didact, or is it a mind of its own??
SykoWolf
It probably moves through direct link to the Didacts armour and his Ancilla. So all he would have to do is think abou it, and it would move
Tallgeese
I also think it is the Didact in his Cryptum. As far as Silentium goes, the book does not come out until January, so we will know what the sphere is before that point, hopefully at least lol. Sierra1117
Well we'll find out on November 6 actually
Victory Element
Well we'll find out on November 6 actually i dont think so. We can probably confirm that it is the Didact and that he is an enemy, etc. but i think the plot of the book will be the backstory of how he got in the cryptum
Sierra1117
I was talking about whether or not it's a Cryptum, but now that you bring it up, I could imagine a clip in a cutscene briefly showing the Didact going into the Cryptum, and why he went into it would be explained in silentium

ςHϵΑƨϵMΩηεTΞr
*lightbulb* I think it's the diadact in his cryptum. In the book cryptum bornstellar was scanned by the cryptum to check if he's forerunner and guilty spark calls humans during one of its rants that humans are forerunner....so you get the idea, I guess lol (prob most people already figured this out but awell lol)
Jord
I'm very curious about this, because when Bornstellar found the Didact in his cryptum, Bornstellar had to help feed the Didact's body the fluids it required to revive the body to the point where the Didact was live and well. My question is, if he's walking and talking in this new trilogy, who revived the Didact? Please correct me if I'm wrong at all, I just typed what I remember from Cryptum.
SternuS
You're right. Indeed there must've been someone to revive him. Or maybe it is an improved Cryptum. Or maybe it's not a Cryptum.
Sierra1117
Maybe the covenant awakened him. Those guys are really bad with ancient evils, first they unleash the flood, now the Didact. What? In 20,000 years are they gonna awaken George Bush?
SykoWolf
See my only problem with it being a Cryptum is the fact that a Cryptum is used to hold high ranking Forerunners in a sort of self exile. So why is it flying about scanning people and chasing the infinity? Makes no sense to me, the cryptum should be stationary.
