Absolute Dog
I know, Absolute Dog creating a post in the Off Beat forums. Go ahead and laugh, get it out of your system! I was recently listening to a song, a rather lengthy song, from an English band that not only helped shape my young life, but gave me an insight to something that was outside the realm of popular music of the time. I originally listened to this song from Genisis at a cousins house up north in Pennsylvania on a Teac real to real 4 track player with headphones. I became lost in this song and it was not long after I first read Robert Frost's: " The Road Not Taken". Note: All Cyan words are text links and the images are music links. Among the founding Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins who joined in the early 70's. Of these four, Peter Gabriel left to start his own unique brand of music. He still performs worldwide to this day. He was always my favorite member and here is a sample of his music. Always be willing to read and listen to what is new. Don't get caught following what others try to tell you is the norm.
Sikslik7
Well, any music from the Disney movie "Mulan" counts to music that will ever be in my heart, but a song that has eluded me for so long was "Orinocco Flow" by Enya. I would hear that song someplace as a young kid and never knew the name, until recently I found it on Itunes on accident. And yes, on some version of the song, the genre is Irish Trance. Note: The link that Mulan has is not Mulan music, It's from the Karate Kid.
Spectral Jester
On mobile version at moment so can't link. growing up in Coventry in the 70's I was heavily influenced by 2 tone. As its spiritual home is Coventry. So I was listening to Selecter, Specials, Bodysnatchers, and Madness. Still find it relaxing to dig out the old records and listen to them now 30 years later lol. If o really want to rock out its The Who.
