Mine are as follows, but in no particular order: Halo 3 Mass Effect 1 and 2 Dead Space 1 and 2 Spec Ops The Line = Some of my most favourite endings Halo Wars Cant think of others now, so i will edit when i think of more. Honorable Mentions: Gears of War 3 Halo Reach Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Mortal Kombat Resident Evil 5 And although I haven't played it yet, there's a game called 'To the Moon' that I hear has a tearjerking ending, and some people cite it as an example that games can be art like other forms of media. Not a good climax in its plot at all. Also, I could list maybe a hundred games, but I'll just list 3 to be nice to the people who would have to do a lot of scrolling. 1- Skyrim 2- Halo 3 3- Then all the other games that would have followed. Reach's ending had no emotional impact because the characters were cardboard cut-outs. You cannot introduce 6 new characters in 1 game and expect a player to care about them, especially in a game that focuses pretty much entirely on action.
