Getting better, and prepping for Halo 4.

Firstly I apologize if this is in the wrong section, but I assumed that Match Making would also relate to all multiplayer skill aspects.

Back onto topic, my question here is really what are your best tips and pieces of advice to helping an above average halo player like me get prepped and ready (skill wise) for Halo 4? I am not asking to be forged into pure MLG material (although that would be awesome), I am simply asking for a sort of list on what to do before November.

I personally haven't played much on my account so don't bother looking, currently my friend plays in different timezones and let me play on his account until Halo 4 arrives (which is when I will purchase another 12 months live membership). Best I introduce myself so you can get a better understanding of where I am skill-wise. I do only play Xbox 3 times a week, but I would be playing for hours. Also I am willing and dedicated to take up any pieces of criticism no matter how harsh, after all I am looking for the best advice to advancing skill wise.

What I mean by "prepping" is how I can prepare, what time of playlist (mode) is most recommended? Should I be playing Halo 3 or Halo reach? Should I try to focus on improving my aim (which isn't all that amazing) or try focus on other aspects? I would just like to say I have tried all modes and usually in slayer I am coming up with a fair K/D, ranging from 10 kills 8 deaths a game to (if I am feeling the adrenaline) 16 kills to 9 deaths. (These statistics are just sort of an average so please do not take it literally).

Also I thought I would point out I play on with a sensitivity of 4 and I use the button layout "bumper jumper".

Thanks all and I hope for some great replies!

Personally, i would play Halo 3, the majority of the weapons in Halo 4 will function similar to those in Halo 3. With the exception of the DMR of course which so far is only in Reach. Halo 3 does not have Health incorporated into the system which is the same as Halo 4. Both Halo 4 and Halo 3 just have a shield bar to calculate hit damage. Jumping will be similar to that in Halo 3 as well. The overall mechanics of Halo 4 function similarly to those in Halo 3, but of course with tune ups.

The only reason i would suggest playing Reach would be for the Armor Abilities. Sprint is nice to get used to since everyone will have it in Halo 4, Active Camo will function similar to the one in reach (without the radar scrambler though), Hologram functions very similar in Halo 4 to the one in Reach. Jet pack however has been toned down a lot in Halo 4, so if you use jet pack in reach, use it in bursts, dont fly around with it.

Overall, play Halo 3 for the weapons and shield damage indicator. Play Halo Reach for the AA's.
