Victory Element
ok, so i'm in high school and homecoming is in a few weeks for me. I met this new girl that i'm starting to like. We've only been talking talking for like a week now, but she seems very open towards me and we get along well. But the point is, i want to ask her to homecoming, and i need some ideas. I knew i could come here for this because this is only the Greatest community ever! so lets hear some ideas. I want to be able to do something creative, but i really do not like being in the spotlight. So, something that is clever but doesnt attract a lot of attention would really please me. If i get no ideas, i can just do it the old fashioned way and ask her straight up.......but thats just my failsafe plan for now Edit: thanks for the feedback if you gave any, but my problem is now solved. I came up with creatice idea to ask this girl, and she loved it. So, this girl plays volleyball for the school team. I went out and bought a volleyball, and wrote "homecoming?" and my name on it with a sharpie. I also bought some fancy chocolates as well. I made a plan with another girl on the volleyball to help me out. She would meet me at school early one day, i would give her the stuff, and she would put it in the girl's volleyball locker the plan was for her to find the stuff at the end of the day before her volleyball practice, and then she would see me later at the big varsity football game. But instead, she had to go down to her locker to get something during first period....... she was by herself when she went down to the locker, and all of the stuff was set up in it. Some of our friends told me that she thrilled afterwards and all of the girls said it was "soo cute". but anyways..... She Said Yessssss! so problem solved Edited September 16, 2012 by Victory Element
Sarge
Personally I'd find out her interests if you two share something dive in for the "kill" remember this is prime picking time for homecoming don't be the kid looking for a date 3 days before it. Hippie
Well I always asked Straight up. But where I was at the girls liked simple. The reason for that is, girls dont like guys showboating to ask them something. So the most I did was grabbed some flowers, went to her house, asked her nice and simply if she would go with me. Then after that make sure its ok with the dad. Always make sure its ok with the dad. It shows you really mean it towards the girl. If you really want to ask her to homecoming and really like her it will most likely come to you. You might get butterflies but it happens to everyone. But if all else fails ask her to dinner. Its nice simple and girls like it. I hope this helps you. But I pretty much told you how I asked my wife out the first time. lol. But most importantly be yourself. Cause its you she likes. Baby Boo
Lol. I am literally drowning in lame pick-up lines. But, none the less, straight up is always the best way. Something I've always wanted to do: Me: "Hey, can I ask you something?" Girl: "Sure! Go ahead." Me: "Well, you see, um.... well, I was wondering if... uh... maybe... I was wondering.... um... how about.... maybe... us.. uh... will you... um..." Girl: "...? Is there a point here?" Me: "Uhh... yeah... I was just wondering if... uh... yeah if.... maybe we could... ah screw it, you wanna go out with me?" Girl: "*insert almost definite yes here*" Me: "Awesome!" Also, another scenario: Me: "Hey, gurl, you goin to da prom wid meh, you luckeh. *strut*" Girl: "Wait... I... I don't... What?"

killerdude1635
Youre coming to a gaming forum for romantic advice? You DO realize that 90% of the people here haven't had any such experience?(No offense) Ask your grandparents for advice, they generally know more then a thing or 2. I am one of the more "youthfull" members here, so a lot of the communtiy is older than me. I'm sure most of the community has gone through this stuff before and some of our members are even married. Dont jump to conclusions so quickly
N@han FloreZ
Just ask her man if she likes you she'll say yes (easier said than done). Although I've got a question too. What should I do if i want to talk to a nice girl that I like?

(No offense guys...) I resent that! I do not live in the basement! I live on the top floor and dwell in my room playing games D:< But, Killerdude1635, this is more then just a gaming forum... This is a community, people help each other here...
The Director
The section it's in does not change the fact that this is a gaming forum... 90% of the goers are virgins and basement dwellers, IE no romantic experience. (No offense guys...) Actually, the section it's in does change what the topic can be about. The offbeat section is for things that do not relate to gaming, the Haloverse, or anything else the other sections do. The General Discussion section is similar, however is strictly for back and forth conversation, rather than asking for advice or playing forum games. And lol @ virgins and basement dwellers. Most of the people who are over the age of 18 on this forum are either married, dating, or being a "bachelor". And around 25-40% of the forum's members are over 18. So in reality, probably only about 65% of the forum are virgins, and this is simply because they are too young for such activities at any rate. As for the OP: Asking in a sly/romantic way can lead to one of three things. Her acceptance, which will create a nice story to tell people. Her denial, which will make all of the effort worthless and leave YOU feeling worthless, or her confusion, which will lead to some complicated things down the road. The best way to go about asking her to homecoming is to first ask her on a date (coffee, a movie, hanging out at the park, something where it will just be the two of you) and then casually bring it up in a conversation. If you are having trouble bringing it up, just naturally say, "so what are you doing for homecoming?" If she reveals she isn't doing anything, then ask her if she'll go with you. If she already is going with someone, say something like, "darn, I was hoping to ask you" and laugh a bit. This will let her know that you are interested in her, without coming off too strong. Try not to stutter or stumble over your words, and avoid the crap out of "um" and "err". Women say they find this cute, but they mean it as in they find it cute in their friends.

Thats what the other sections are for But, Killerdude1635, this is more then just a gaming forum... This is a community, people help each other here... very well said Zag.
