fpstactic
I'd like to see a return of this, but this time include more than just one game type... the "waypoint over your head" game type. some examples would include: sniper vs zombie, where sniper is on a raised platform looking down on a map/maze, and the zombie has to make their way through the maze while dodging bullets sniper vs sniper, one variety of this could be king of the hill where the hill is in the center of the map, and the respawn points could be one of four locations, all looking towards the hill obviously, octagon 1v1 amplified(halo 3 mlg map) flag with special game settings oddball with special settings mongoose race br stadium, 1 life per round, players spawn directly opposite each other see now there is so much potential for a great head to head play list, vote yes if you want to see it as a play list, and leave a suggestion if you can think of a game type
iTz Vplus2
I've never heard of this playlist. Is it something like Action Sack?
fpstactic
head to head was a 1 on 1 playlist bungie tried on halo 3 for a few months, it didn't have a great population, I think the reason behind that was the lack of dedicated maps and imaginitive game types the only game type was one where you permanently had a way point over your head for your opponent to see within this game type was a swat type game, swords, and regular slayer there were no custom maps, just small to medium pre-existing maps that had the weapon and power-up drops adjusted... it was pretty limited game play but with the right game type ideas, and custom maps, it has the potential to be a solid top five pick for alot of players another game could be a race over one of those custom maps people made, that you had to jump from platform to platform, if you fell, you died. there were things to make the journey more varied, like when you jump up a wall you could enter a mongoose, and when you exit the mongoose you jump again to scale the wall, ramping warthogs, hitting fusion coils to throw yourself over a gap, gravity lifts etc
Tallgeese
That and it was really only used by people who had huge egos and thought they were the best. Usually when two people got into it in a game they would go into 1v1 to see who was the "better" Halo player. It was a joke in my opinion. adding options like the ones listed by the OP into 2v2 (doubles) would be awesome though
iTz Vplus2
Well, from what you two told me now, no i don't want it back. The right place for a 1v1 is a MLG settings custom game lol And the whole idea of having a waypoint over my head constantly doesn't appeal to me. fpstactic
"huge egos"? the experience I had was against really nice guys, nobody thought they were the best because within the game it was obvious who had better br skills, who had better snipe skills, who knew the map better, who timed the power weapons better, who camped with a one kill lead, who got that lucky sticky nade etc... there was no question after the game who was on their game at that time, there was nobody pissed at anybody else because if you're better you don't want to chase off your next victory, and if you were worse you had nothing to say... it was like lone wolves players, except nicer. did you troll head to head? did you get trolled in head to head? Makaveli II 904
I like the sniper vs zombie idea, would be fun trying to get through a maze with sniper bullets flying around you
upton889
The problem with 1v1 is that host plays to big of a factor. If 343 can somehow find a way to dampen host advantages then I'm all for it.
iTz Vplus2
I like the sniper vs zombie idea, would be fun trying to get through a maze with sniper bullets flying around you There was a similiar gametype in Halo 3 action sack on Sandbox. 1 team was high up and had to snipe the guys at the bottom. I didn't like that gametype. But maybe with a maze it'd be more fun.
fpstactic
yeah, host can play a big factor, but I have found that when I get green bar I don't notice

Accuracy,Mobility,Strategy, But the biggest IMO is Sportsmanship, how you handle victory and defeat. Thats why i dont go around spouting "Im better then you, you suck, go to hell" That would make me the worse player.
Tallgeese
I agree with that Syko. As far as people with big egos in Halo, I have seen (or more rather heard it over mic's) plenty of times. People get waaaay too into Halo and think they are gods. More often than not they are cheating, sometimes they are legit. But really I could care less. If i kicked their butt in the previous game, why do I need to prove it again in 1v1. I was never a fan, it just increased unsportsmanship in my experience with it. Little kids, or immature adults trying to prove their worth through a game lol

I used to be a player who could appreciate the skills of my opponents, and compliment them for it. I used to be a player who could tolerate weak team mates, so long as there was a way to avoid them in the future but after having my experience ruined, I contribute by keeping my comments to myself, good enough?
