Same lines?

So i was watching the hero awakens vidoc and I noticed something interesting. At 2:22, you can hear Jen Taylor saying "I'm not doing this for mankind" at first i just thought that it had to do with her rampancy, but in the script of the game, we see chief saying the same exact line to the Didact. I think they're connected, but I don't even know what to make of this. Could someone please help me out here?

Nice find, good attention to detail. So Cortana and Chief say the same thing, huh? Makes sense i guess since the whole story is about those two and their fight together. But i don't know what to think of this yet either. Could be part of rampancy, could be Cortana reading Chief's mind. Could be anything at this point.

I noticed the same thing, but the script could of been a earlier version of the game, I just don't think they will say the same line

It is odd though that one of the only lines we know John will say is spoken by Jen Taylor, and this is a small observation, but if you listen to how she says it, her attitude sounds like how chief would sound before attacking the Didact.

lol, I just came up with a very very strange theory, what if, to make Cortana survive longer, they placed her inside Chief's body, and placed Chief in her body using Forerunner Technology like how Chakas was put into a monitor body. know it sounds strange, but wouldn't it be a sweet plot twist?

Well the first trilogy may have been for mankind. Abd through his journey he is indirectly learning about the mantle. Which would lead to him now wanting to protect the galaxy.

I don't see this as a possibility. The words don't fit. Or actually, there's a word missing.

I think that if they were doing it for the galaxy, they'd say "I'm not doing this for mankind only"

It's a small difference of 1 word, but i do think the fact they left that word, or a similiar one, out means that your theory isn't correct

Well as it just abruptly cuts off we don't know where it fits in. So it may make perfect sense, we are just seeing it two different ways.

Example:

Didact: "Are you doing this for your species?!"

Chief/Cortana "I'm not doing this for mankind."

Didact: "Oh, then for whom?"

Chief/Cortana: "Something bigger."

Another possibility, most of my friends who have noticed this seem puzzled why chief/cortana isn't doing this for man kind but who said it would even be about the halo 4 campaign plots and stuff. Could be a hint or something for later in the trilogy, i know it sounds out of the question but not everything has to be about the for plot lines. They hinted toward whats going to happen in about all the games. Example: In halo 3 ending of campaign, Chief: Wake me when you need me. and here we are in the beginning of halo 4 campaign with cortana waking up chief because SHE NEEDS HIM!!

But we're going to have an explanation as to why they're not doing "this" for mankind.

If you go back to the video where you can see the script it doesnt say chief says the line but cortana. ONLY cortana says she is not doing this for mankind.

If you really want to dwelve into this theory Think about here origin, Doesnt it seem a little to convienient her avatar is the same as an Ancilla?

As most people have already stated, it could be anything. Speculate is the only thing we can do at this point.

I feel the same, I feel Cortana may die in one of the games.

I have to admit, I'm a fan of the 'bittersweet stories', but that depends entirely on the execution of it, would 343i make such a decision.
