Liana
I have to admit, I'm a fan of the 'bittersweet stories', but that depends entirely on the execution of it, would 343i make such a decision. I as well am a fan of bittersweet endings, and I think having Cortana die could provide a very emotional experience. Let's think like this, in Halo 4 Cortana struggles with her existence as she slowly proceeds into the three stages of Rampancy. Halo 4 explores these stages, and her "mortality". Chief and Cortana have been together for quite some time, and they have developed this relationship with each other that is more than simple friendship. They both care for each other, and would go great lengths for whatever reason / danger they were / are in. Halo 5 sets the stage where she "dies". Chief is grieved by this but ultimately continues his fight (with whatever threat Halo 4 introduced). Halo 6 Master Chief dies. He manages to accomplish his goals, saves the universe, and is finally reunited with Cortana and all the other friends he's lost in his journey(s).
Veer Zamamai
This is a very interesting find, very well done. If Liana's plots are correct we don't have very long playing Halo, perhaps six to seven years.
Erco 'Zjadee
Well Cortana is a Artificial Intelligence and she could of read Master Chief's mind like Vplus said.
Ventus
Interesting find... I guess it has something to do with Cortana and her connections to Chief, maybe rampancy... I honestly don't know.
Chewin3
*snip* Maybe, though it depends on the execution. If done poorly, it turns into another generic side-story that has been done a hundreds times before.
Son Of Anarchy
So i was watching the hero awakens vidoc and I noticed something interesting. At 2:22, you can hear Jen Taylor saying "I'm not doing this for mankind" at first i just thought that it had to do with her rampancy, but in the script of the game, we see chief saying the same exact line to the Didact. I think they're connected, but I don't even know what to make of this. Could someone please help me out here? Could be Halsey, dunno.
