Bloom from Reach to Halo 4 (ex. AR)

I have noticed something funny about the AR in Halo 4. In Reach, people hated it because it has so much visible bloom. Go forward to Halo 4 and you see the reticle is about the same size. Definitely not smaller by much if at all. Bloom is not visible, but people somehow still say it's better. I have a hard time seeing why.

The Storm Rifle has a huge reticle too, but everyone seems pleased with all this.

Basically, the bloom is just as much, yet it's better because they can't see it. Can anyone tell me why this is the case?

What do you think?

I dont think its as much of the bloom as it is the weapon spread. Bloom and weapon spread were crazy in Halo Reach, however in Halo 4 it looks like the spread and bloom have been balanced. Some weapons have more bloom with less spread like the Sniper, while others have less bloom and more spread like the AR. Overall though, as far as the bigger reticle is concerned...when playing and seeing a bigger reticle, you dont think about the spread and bloom as much. In Reach, there were small reticles but seeing the bloom and spread go beyond the reticle really annoyed people, now they cant see it. Its a mind game lol

Yeah...I mean heck there has been bloom and weapon spread in every Halo game. Its just that Reach was the first to really show it to the player. That did not go well with many but not all Halo players. The removal of that for precision weapons was a good idea. The added combination spread and or bloom for weapons is a good call by 343i, it will make sense on weapons like the AR, and will please fans of precision weapons where there is no or less visible bloom/spread.

See, my question was how people liked it better just because the reticle didn't move on some weapons. Same size reticle. Halo: CE's bloom for the magnum was inside the reticle, but Reach made it worse. In Halo 4, it looks like with a full clip, it'd be just as inaccurate if you just pulled the trigger as fast as you could. I just wonder if anyone will play the game only to be fooled thinking there was no bloom worth worrying about.

i think with certain weapons that is the case. But for others the visual depiction (AR, SR, LR SAW etc.) wont bother people. Who knows...we shall know once the game launches. Also they can fix this if the community is really displeased. But so far, players both casual and competitive who have played Halo 4, including myself dont really have an issue with it.

I sure don't. The weapons have roles that Halo 4 finally puts them in.
